  • Here we just take a peek inside an ansmann lipo battery charger to see which component broke...
We know why it broke.... Some numpty plugged a battery in reverse polarity🤔😜
    But which part exactly failed?

This defective part with the black hole is a Mosfet Single (N-channel or P-Channel?) 40V, 10A, SO8 package marking (3082 9492) in a SO-8 package

if the chip does not need to come off in one piece, it's not too hard to snip the legs from chip with little cutter and then you can solder them off one by one. In case better soldering options are not available.

Fims, do you have variable temp hot air nozzle? I have a rework station and the airgun can melt multiple solder joints (such as ic chips). Piece of cake to remove but you have that extra problem of the sandwiched pc boards. Shame - that pretty much makes your decision for you, huh?

I guess these days because they're so cheap, chargers are just another environmentally unfriendly throw away electrical item. If the board and components are readily available they probably cost more than a new charger. At least no serious damage was done to yourself or your house 😊👍👍

Yes... On point there dude... I may keep it and try fix it... I've already thought of a work around to try.
Just got to be careful with mains connected stuff... I may try with it hooked upto a 12v input source first after the fix🤣
Thanks for watching as always dude
