I am getting some alcohol ink tomorrow to try on my keychains that I am making for my sale in a couple of weeks. I just started using the uv resin and I love that can't wait to try this.
Hi! Love the video, it has helped me progress a project I have had in mind. Something I'm stumbling on though is do you find there are issues with adhesion/surface tension when applying the inks directly onto a blank acrylic surface? And on that note is this why you're preferring to use the UV resin rather than spray varnish in order to seal it? I'd assume it is way more forgiving when it comes to wear and tear potentially chipping the ink off of the unprimed surface? Also, would water based acrylic inks work following this same process? Or is there a specific advantage to using an alcohol based range?
I have no tried to seal with a spray. I like the look of a UV resin but I imagine the spray would work find. I have not had issues with things remaining on the keychain. As for the acrylic paint... I would think it would work but at the same time I think that is going to have problems staying on the blank when applied. The paint is not really made to stay on such a smooth surface. you could try sanding the blank before applying the paint perhaps.
Great demo 👍.....I'm new to alcohol inks....i have purchased some clear acrylic coasters....would you paint one side white with acrylic paint let it dry then on the other side do the alcohol ink technique....your answer would be appreciated asap...thanks Jane.....North Wales UK 🇬🇧 👌

If you don’t want it sliding on the board use some fun tack.
love this ❤️❤️❤️

You can absolutely do that. It will make the colors very vibrant
Where did you get the glitter ✨ duster?
how long did you let them dry before adding the resin
Maybe 30 minutes. Alcohol ink dries pretty quick
Did you apply the alcohol ink straight to the blank?
Yes
uv resin is necessary??? or can seal it with varnish coats
Most clear coat sealers will work.
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you for replying😊
Couldn't find the link for the resin ??? Was it amazon 🤔
Here it is amzn.to/2EW9eLG
Why do you use a UV Resin?
Because it seals the inks to the blank. Uv resin cure quickly as well
Going to have to see if I can get things from U.K. x
I would think there are some version of the alcohol inks in the UK :)
I’m having a hard time finding your Etsy shop
I took my shop down
Corinne Blackstone Bummer. Thank you for responding
On the blanks you only did ink and uv on one side leaving the other side just ink showing threw
Correct
