Umm I could cry watching this - I've been doing these signs and having so many issues with leaking and not wanting to do intricate design because the weeding this is LIFE CHANGING freaking magic THANK YOU!!!
If you ever experience bleeding, the beauty about plastics is that you can always sand away the bleed marks, then reapply a light coat of epoxy UV resin on top and usually that will get rid of any and all scuff marks. You can then polish and wax your final piece to make it look nice and shiny. Another trick that I use, after polishing away unwanted areas, is that I take a hot torch and in a controlled motion go over the areas that were scuffed by the polishing. This will bring out a good natural shine to resin. Always practice on scrap pieces, as it takes a bit of getting used to doing this method. The key is applying the flame of the torch at the right distance, at an even and consistent speed, and paying attention to the changes on the resin surface. Thanks for your video, it gave me some good ideas.
I’ve been struggling to find the perfect setting for engraved acrylic in which to paint. Would love if you could share your settings. This was very helpful never thought to spray with clear first.

Gorgeous! As a mum of 2 in the UK who has just bought a laser engraver I'm now so excited to get started! Plus it's so refreshing to see laser videos done by a woman ❤
How exciting! It’s definitely intimidating in the beginning but once you get through that learning curve, it will be amazing! Be sure to join my community on Facebook. I host weekly free trainings and it’s an overall amazing group!
Very nice work. I was amazed by this gold pen. I mean it is a true gold color. But i wonder if you can find this same color within a spray bottle. because it will be much easier for you to finish this job. I liked the frosted teal acrylic it is cool. Too bad i don't live in the US. but i do work with souvenirs and laser cutting. Nice work one more time.
Nice idea thank you! This is maybe a silly question but why don’t you use for example spray paint instead of loosing time with the pen? Could you explain why it must be done with the pen? Thank you again!
Great video !!!! If I’m using gloss black acrylic (which is a headache) I’ll be using gloss white acrylic paint on the engraving. Once the white acrylic paint is dry and everything is peeled off, do you recommend lacquer over the entire acrylic piece or should I seal the white engraving before peeling ?
I wonder if you could share your engraving settings on the acrylic and the type of laser that you are using? I know that every laser is different, but it looks like your engravings are nice and deep. I'd like to see if these settings will make a difference when I am paint filling. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this detailed and informative video! Can you link the name of the masking tape you used? I can’t find it on their website. Thanks.
thank you for the informative videos! I am new to lases but want to try with a laser cutter to cht up to 3 mm acrilyc, hopefully under 300 U$,can you tell me if there is a machine that you reccommend the most? Thank you!
Do you think it would be faster by using the rustoleum metallic gold spray? It is the same color effect and beautiful shimmer just as the pen you use….
I got lots of cracks in the acrylic, because of the lacquar spray (same brand). It works like a sort of glue and that stresses the material. Maybe because I have clear acrylic I am noticed the cracks. I ordered special laser tape. Do I still need to spray it with better tape? Or maybe I putted to much on it?
I’m sorry to hear that! I’ve never had an issue with the paint cracking. I would experieny a little more. Maybe you put too much on. If not, try a different sealer and let me know if you have better luck!
@@ThatMomWithALaser They don't sell the spray you used here in Europe. I got Rust Oleum Crystal clear. I think it is the same, but it contens Aceton. Does your Rust Oleum also contains Aceton? If not, maybe that is the reason and I have to look for another spray.
I am trying to make a clear Christmas ornament but ever time i sprayed on the lacquer is leaks under the masking tape. Do you have any helpful hints for this problem. Am i spraying to much or to close. I do let it dry over night
Hi, I was wondering, if I wanted to use multiple colors for different areas, how would you go about doing it? Especially if the images are close together and you dont want the colors to mix?
This was an amazing tutorial, thank you so much for making this! This and your epoxy earring tutorial have really helped me get started with my work! A question to you or anyone who knows the answer - working with acrylic it seems to scratch VERY easy, and I wouldn't want customers to get something nice and shiny that looks awful after a month of use. Is there a good way to "finish" acrylic pieces like these and ensure they are at least scratch resistant? So far I'm using Rustoleum Paintes Touch 2X Ultra Gloss Clear. I initially just tried the "Laquer" shown in this video, not knowing what it is for LOL. That didn't work out well. Any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I just wanted to ask if you know whether other types of markers can be used or do they have to be oil-based for the best results?
What are your settings for this engraving? Anytime I try this, there are lines in the engraving and the lacquer fills so much of the void (even with a very light spray) that the paint cannot fill in all the art. Are you deeper engraving when painting? Thanks!
Do you know maybe what paint to use for engraved acryilic? I used water based spray can paint and cracks started to form on engraved part on acrylic board. Do you maybe have suggestions what to use? Thanks
Do you have to increase your power when you add masking (or 3M adhesive)? Also, do you think gold spray paint would work as well, or does it not get into the crevices?
@@RyKnocks I also have a 100w Chinese CO2. I "Fill" with a speed of 300mm/s, 12% power and 0.08mm line space. I cut with 9mm/s speed and 70% power for 4.5mm Acrylic.

I am really enjoying your video's. I just ordered a laser cutter and I am expecting it to be delivered today! Quick question. Do you also use the lacquer before painting when using wood in addition to acrylic to prevent the bleeding? Thanks!
I'm curious about this too! I laser engraved and paint a lot of wood and I always have issues with bleeding. I use to just deal with it and wipe away but it's not ideal. Have you tried this way with wood? Anyways I'll be trying it out and I hope it works out! Would be such a life saver
Hey, newbie here! Do you think this would be safe to do for acrylic popsicle sticks or no? I say no, cause of the spray & then the marker, but just not sure.
Great video! Quick question for you: in this case did you invert the image when you engraved it or did you leave it alone since you are painting over the engrave?
I love how practical and no-nonsense your approach is! No fluff, just some solid making skills with brilliant advice! Thanks!

Have you every spray painted the acrylic after you spray poly on it? Seems like it would be a lot quicker, but I’m not sure if it would bleed or not.

Amazing work, just wondering have you ever tried to spray the acrylic instead of using the pen?
Did you cover it in the masking tape beforehand? I want to try this but I just learned to engrave blanks. How could I do this but with acrylic blanks?
