"We know you aint gonna pay for it ,,, so hit the subscribe button". Love it !
I learned the solo part and that’s probably all im gunna play on repeat
I love the first person view of the neck . It helps me see it how I’m going to be seeing it. I’ve watched close to a million guitar videos over the years and can’t ever remember seeing that view. Thank you.
There are quite a few versions of this song, but Chris Stapleton kept it simple and added a ton of soul. Outstanding video. Thanks
Definitely best lesson i have ever seen. Love it
Best tutorial on any song the angle and explanations made it super easy thank you!!!!!!
I've watched about a dozen videos on how to play this song, and your's is easily the best. Thank you for providing the count when you play, it makes it easier especially because it's 6/8.
One of the best lessons I ever had
best lesson i've seen on this song, thank you
Fabulous lesson🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thank for you a great guitar lesson I appreciate it. Love this song and you nailed it
Nice job!! Gives me what I was missing. Really enjoyed the way you present the fret board. Will be performing this song tomorrow night. Looking for the lead up around the 12-16 fret. Been putting my own lead into this.
The chords progression allows a lot of cool riffs up beyond 16 fret. Take care keep up the great work. Wish utube was around when I was younger. I would instead wear out my album and diamond needle out from replaying over and over to get the rhythm and lead parts, lol!
Cheers,
Your a great teacher sir it's easier to learn from you...thank very much
Love it, easy to understand
Love it, best tutorial ever by far thanks!
This helped a ton thank you
Just your straight up honesty, in the first minute, got me to subscribe. My perspective is a guitarist of 50 plus years...about to copyright my life's work: over 100 songs! My luck is I worked in music television those 50plus years, and have a great publisher. Now, onto this fabulous rendition of ....country blues.
Love the player view buddy, great video.... And beautiful guitar 👌
Great lesson, love the view from above guitar
Great instruction, Thanks.
Thank you so much this work great
Awesome lesson thank you so much!!!!
really good quality lesson - subscribed
Thanks..great explanations !
Player view of the fretboard. Subbed.
Good lesson pretty easy to play
Awesome.. makes it look so easy!! my 10yo who is only just learning picked it up within a few min.
Love these tutorials. Thank you
I also use F# Minor pentatonic Scale and it rolls along nicely with the tune as well!! Thanks for the lesson..
F# aeolian "pentatonic" is the 100% exact same thing as A Ionian "pentatonic." You're not "also" using F# "minor" (dumb name) pentatonic ("dumber" name) because A Major (extremely dumb name) pentatonic is the same exact thing.
Thanks so much I like your teaching
Great lesson! Thanks.
Great. Thank you!
Fantastic guitar teacher wish you lived in Western Australia
At first I was confused about the upside down filming but I get it now lol Ive never seen anyone do that but it's really smart. This is the best lesson for the song thank u
Thanks Tony! Glad you enjoyed the lesson
Yes , best lesson I've seen as well. Great job man

Beginner guitar player here. Like one month in. I shouldn’t be in such a rush to learn this song. But loving and learning it thanks to your help. Liked and subscribed.
Rock on!
This video is top class 🤘🏼🇮🇪🤘🏼
really helpful man❤
Very good
Very nice lesson. I gave up on it, but you made it easy.
That's because you're too busy trying to learn "things" rather than learning how to play. If you want to learn any song easily, stop trying to learn songs.
I actually like to hold and hit the A string on the second fret and hammer on and off the fourth fret rather than doing the double slide notes. Check it out.
well done
Love it. Very well explained and the different views are just great aid. Now...
Did anyone noted that's the same song from back in the 50's by Etta Jones "I'd rather go blind"..(re arranged)???
Great video
Hands down the best video on guitar lessons! Like the way you have the camera angles set
Thanks so much Richard! Really appreciate the comment. Let us know if you have any lesson requests
@@CenterStageGuitar how bout cold or starting over ?
where do you put your fingers? which frets? thanks
Great Video!
Thanks for this lesson
My pleasure!
A bit late but I subscribe!! Thank you
I’m new to guitar and don’t understand any of this stuff for the strumming pattern, idk what a A minor is or all that, does anyone know how I can learn that, because I’ve already learned the beginning part
love the different camera angles....
Found your channel by mistake. What a good mistake. New subscriber here. Excellent instruction! Thank you for a great lesson!
Thanks Corey!
My guitar doesn’t sound like that.
What do I need to change in the amp settings?
Subbed liked and watched all the ads
When using a string. Do you hold the other 5 down??
THANKS BRO!
Awesome lesson! Thank you
My pleasure!
@@CenterStageGuitar do you have a lesson on the solo?
Thank you! Hard for some to play a deceptively simple song.
Great lesson. Is that a Fender Deluxe Tele?
When you are strumming up, are you playing all the strings?
Good intro.. first time i click subscribe just because the video says so
Same haha
What Etta James song is similar in chords to Tennessee Whiskey??
How many song do you teach
Why are you doing the b minor with your index on 3rd fret instead of 2nd?
3:57
question. when your sliding down, how hard do you have to press down on the string?
Depends on the action on your guitar.
2:33
What is the tuning for this
Standard tuning by the sounds, you can also chuck a capo on 2nd fret and replace A with G and Bm with Am for easier version without bar chords
Oh man, my finger hurts from just watching! 😬
that intro got me
6/8 or 12/8 timing?
Thank you ! Will go and buy a guitar and learn to play this just because if your video
Did u Buy it
shocker, I had that same Tele Custom for years ands years. was stolen from my place about 5 years ago.
Maybe I missed it, but what is the tuning for this?
standard
Can I play A chord differently bc I can't do it with the one finger pressing down on all 4 strings
Just 3 strings. D, G, and B. Those are the only ones you have to press down hard enough to get a clean note from. It's OK if the high E string doesn't make any noise, in fact that's what you want. But that will happen without you having to worry about it.
you could even put a capo on the 2nd fret and play a G and Am shape. it will give you a clean sound.
If I look up an A chord, it shows that the high E string should be played open whereas you seem to be fretting or muting it, i can’t really tell. Could you or someone explain this?
You can play an A chord with 3 fingers and get the open E string or you can barre it with one finger. When you barre with 1 finger you cannot play the high E string because you would be playing the 2nd fret making the A an A6. The open E string is just a duplication of the 5th interval that we already have on the 2nd fret of the D string. Both versions are totally acceptable
👍🎸
A helpful tip so you know what bar you are in is to count 1, 2, 3, 4 then 2, 2, 3, 4 and 3, 2, 3, 4 etc ...... .
I’m new to guitar and was wondering how you play the A at 5:00? I’ve looked it up everywhere but can’t seem to get any good help?
John Sawyer it’s a barre A. You’re still playing the normal A major but using only your index finger to press down the second fret B G and D strings. It’s a useful shape for songs like this
UnbeatenPath1 thank you. Am I strumming just the A while doing this or B,G, and D?
@@MrJohnnyJean it's a normal A chord. You're playing the same notes in the same way just with a different fingering to make it easier in this case. So it'll be everything but the low E string.
Not to get too deep down the rabbit hole but there are different ways to play other chords too and I basically pick what fits the song and is easier. For example everyone knows Sweet Home Alabama. In the third verse after the "in Birmingham they loved the governor" the hoo hoo hoo is F C and D. They also use that to lead into the solo. Since the higher notes are accentuated I usually play the F without the 2 lowest strings as a "C shape" with my index finger barring the high E. That makes it easier to switch between the F and C since you're just moving the shape 1 string over. Lynyrd Skynyrd actually plays the main progression as D Cadd9 G which is easier movements than D C G since you're really only moving 2 fingers the whole song.
Everytime I do the slides thete a squeak. Anyone know how to fix that?
chrishdafish oil your strings a little or while them off
@@alexnevarez8176 ok thank you
Please do I Was Wrong!!!
Stapleton claims to have written Tenn whis. Writers were Dean Dillon and Linda bathrobe and put on an album by David Allen come in 1981
Linda hargrove
y
i was good up until the hammer on b minor thingy
You're not allowed to tell people to watch ads
I can’t get Bm fast enough so instead of playing Bm I played G
old George Jones country tune
old david allen coe tune
@@ericgibson9422 is it,,,,Jones had the hit with it,,i know that,,thanks
@@ericgibson9422 jones is the one that is associated with it..nobody knows who wrote it but they know who had a hit with it and it was Jones.
@@joebloggs4754
Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove wrote it , tossed it to George Strait but he turned it down David Alan Coe released it first
Whats with the upside down cam?
He's trying to mimic what you'd see when you hold a guitar and play it. I thought it was pretty self explanatory.
Julius kinda slow
Stapleton could not have ripped off "I would rather go blind" any better!!!!!
It's a cover of a George Jones song, he didn't rip off anything.
@@jadonwilliams9039
Actually released first by David Alan Coe, George Jones covered Coe .
😂😂😂😂
I know it's in 6/8 but no no that's just....
No I'm not going to do that
4 minutes just to explain a couple notes at the intro!
