After 2yrs of running this kit I ran into a issue that I blew both 20amp fuses when out for a drive. Replaced them and made it home. Going to replace the fuel pumps and see if that fixes it.
You must have had a few calls. I am putting together my 03 Mach1, Street car with occasional strip and track car, so I have a fairly well built stroker 4.6 DOHC I have been building. I havent purchased a fuel system yet. I have looked around and at what your offering. What is the deciding factor or when is it time to go from the factory variable current to maintain fuel pressure and proper F/A ratios to a return style fuel system? I like what you said about the connect of those cars I thought I had to do some crazy tuning or re-write to the stock control system. Any other info you can provide is much appreciated. Thanks
Can you explain the wires on the triple pump harness , I have a 2011 gt500 and none of the wires on my stock harness from my fuel hat match the harness that is provided in my kit and I downloaded the instructions but it also does not match the colors in the instructions. The only wire that does match and is in the instructions is the purple wire from the FPDM.
Alberto Mendez the only other wires you need to be concerned about are the level sender wires. You’ll peel back the loom on your stock harness where the connector that goes to the fuel hat is. Then clip the 2 small wires in the middle a few inches from the connector. You’ll then connect those two small wires to the 2 small wires on the fuel hat. Please feel free to call us tomorrow if you have any other questions and we’ll be glad to assist you.
I have no connector on the hat. Just 3 red wires, 3 black wires and 2 yellow wires. And a 6 pin connector on the wiring harness. What hooks up to what? Since I have to cut this connector off. Do I connect a red to the big yellow and red to the big orange? And then blacks to blacks of course.
stag if the fuel hat you’re using doesn’t have a 6 pin connector on it then you’ll cut the connector off of the wiring harness. The larger gauge colored wires go to the red wires on the hat and the larger black wires go to the black wires on the hat. The 2 small wires go to the level sender wires on the fuel hat and can go either way as it’s based on OHMS. Let us know if you have any other questions.
