It does seem odd that MS would put out a card to support their arch nemesis rivals DR who put out CP/M. You mentioned the CP/M card expected 64k to be in the Apple. I always thought the CP/M cards were fully contained computers with their own RAM. Is this mistaken? is the card actually using the Apple's native RAM?
Also, you mentioned the 80 column card was going out over RF. How does it look? I used Apple IIs in the 80s in high school, but never with 80 columns or CP/M. I don't have an Apple II.
Yes, you were mistaken. The Z80 cards provided the processor and some support chips only.
Did I say RF? If so, I meant to say composite video. It looks OK with a good mono screen.
At that time, Microsoft and DR were not competitors. That came later.
There is no such thing as a zed 80, just as there is no such thing as a zee x spectrum. The Z80 is an American product and should be pronounced zee, not zed. OTOH, the spectrum is a British product and should be called the zed x Spectrum, however, it does include a zee 80 processor.
Be careful to not let others control your tongue. 😉

@tezzaNZ Your comment got deleted by youtube and I can only see the first dozen words or so. I'm (1/2) joking here. Plus, you would not believe the backlash I have gotten for calling the Spectrum a Zee X Spectrum. So it's a bit of lighthearted ribbing. You can call it whatever you want.
@@tarstarkusz Yeah its hard to share humour these days, as everyone goes full ret ard calling each other a Nazi, or other uninformed crap. Not looking forward to the legal changes being pushed through in many nations, to basically end free speech. For now though keep having a laugh where you can! 👍
