True story. So, me and my cousin saw this tall grey creature in a field with a HUGE head when we were young, and to this day since it happened she will be like "I don't want to talk about it". Its like this denial thing of "I don't want to know". The truth is like too much. She wont say "no it didn't happen" just "I don't want to talk about it". lol She will just repeat "I don't want to talk about it". Maybe she looked into their eyes, made eye contact, which has that strip of joy effect. I thought it was funny and curious to be honest. It had a completely different effect on my cousin. (that chocolate actually does cure btw *any small piece* -- also can use this trick on tricky ghost as well and negative people). I take it, no ghost hunting in Japan then? lol :) Some of the stories that come out of Japan and in particular Okinawa are quite intimidating, but when you understand those extreme cases kind of only work on the weak spirited and minded and those with high karmatic debt who decided to not work on their karma in their life. Some of the things from Okinawa are scary, but as long as your respectful towards life and usually they love incense, you can do some honest ghost hunting. Fast forward down the road, I haven't seen my cousin in over decade and she got into some dark things, so when we were kids, that entity saw that weakness and was able to get through her spiritual defenses, I have heard the horror stories and they strip you of common sense and joy for years (some of the ghost and demons in japan are said screw people up for life), but its not typical. Anyone can change and grow and decide to do good, but she was at a young age not going to probably work on that karma sadly, and it was able to get through the normal spiritual defenses that we all have. Ghost, demons, etc can all do similar things, but they are powerless to the natural defenses were born with, and the food of the Gods CHOCOLATE!!! In fact, an offering of chocolate and incense would put you above all other ghost hunters, the chocolate can protect those ghost from the more darker ones. They listen!!!!
Not gonna lie, I would love to listen to a podcast from them. Even if it's just 30 mins (podcasts usually last an hour or so).

Idk if anyone mentioned it yet, but the pork and "dry noodle" thing isn't pork and dry noodles. Those are thinly sliced pork rinds covered in roasted rice powder! I also love it so much!!! It's one of my favorite parts of com tam

Broken rice was the first ever vietnamese dish I ever had! it was just last year, I loved it so much! I don't know much about vietnamese cuisine, but it was sooo delicious!!

This is my most favourite favourite dish in the whole entire world and my mom makes it the best where she actually grills the pork on the charcoal bbq and she makes like the Vietnamese burnt rice and man it’s to die for
yes, I wanna see how Dalena makes her own food blog, who needs Chonny right? XD
*I am just joking, but I really wanna see it at least once for Dalena to do food blog alone
so I don't travel a lot, maybe 2-3 times a year, but I got a lot of some bad travelling stories. such as I got dengue fever one night before my flight came up. I still went ahead with the flight got super sick on the plane (thankfully only a 2 hours flight), then when I reached my destination, I took a taxi and that was still 3 hours from the airport to my hotel. my mom brought me to a small clinic, got IV shot, drink some meds and went back to my hotel. next day though, it got worse and I got hospitalized straight away, for 7 days.
So during those 7 days, my mom been alone in the hotel room. and she said she swear that she heard snoring sound from my bed (it was twin single bed) even though she was alone in the room. that was why when I discharged from hospital, she insist on having TV and lights on when we slept
food poisoning is something that is tough to tackle. I am from Indonesia but I lived in the UK for 5 years, everytime I went back to Indonesia, the first thing I always get was very bad diarrhoea. after that my stomach will adjust itself and I suddenly I am immune to dirty food (well not all fo them but I do get food poisoning once every few months)
and wow, pepsi once a day.. I think I only drink sugary drinks only like once a month? and for soda maybe once every few months. it very not healthy for your body, you guys should stop it

kinda like bimbap but less work ... saigon food posioning could be many things pork chicken and jah could or could be touching meat didn't wash hands put ice into your cup or the ice could of been made with run off water back of their store 😂
I drink soda like a MF as well, haha and you are 100% right that it erodes your stomach lining-- I also used to have a sensitive stomach that I attributed to excessive acidic drink (like soda) use. So I cut down too, and I only tend to have soda with food and that helps too. If I over indulge in soda there are herbs you can take to build up your stomach mucous membranes-- for example, licorice supplements are good, (you want DGL licorice for digestive stuff though because regular licorice pills can raise your blood pressure). Now I have way less stomach problems and still get to have soda once a day or every second day. (Though I should probably cut down more too haha)

Why doesn't Dalena eat pork? Just curious
1. She had a pet pig when she was younger, so she doesn't like eating pork because you wouldn't want to eat your pet lol.
2. Doesn't care for the taste (in comparison to other meat).
3. She avoids it as much as possible :) e.g. she'll have ramen (usually the broth is pork) but she'll give the pork slice on top to Chonny to eat.

I'm assuming Dalena's grandma just makes it differently but the "noodles" that are served with the shredded pork are usually shredded dried pork skin!! Anyway, this is my favorite Vietnamese dish on the planet. Love your videos!!

One of my favourite things to eat, my mum used to take me out to the shops when I was a kid and I would get something similar called com hai sung if I remember correctly but I can’t wait to try this in the future!
As a Vietnamese myself who just ate Com Tam 2 days ago, I say it's very traditional. This is literally what I ate everyday in Vietnam, and it's so delicious.

she's not vegetarian, she doesnt care about cross contamination that much. She's mentioned before that if she happens to eat pork she doesn't freak out about it, its just not her preference. I mean she eats at Ichiran all the time for pete's sake and they use pork broth (tonkotsu) exclusively as their base.
