Hi Tim, I have got an A3 just like this one with the standard sound system, the speakers recently stoped working. Sometimes work, sometimes they just don't work at all! everything else runs at it should, MMI, etc.. it's just the sound. I run a diagnostic and it come up that the sound control unit was unable to make a connection . I now have this control unit but have no clue where this is located. I can't find any info anywhere, this very informative video is the closest idea i could get of where things are in this car. Do you know where I can find this control unit to replace it? thank you
Unsure to be honest, as I don't have the car anymore your best bet is to get in contact with vag car coding on his site on Audi sport forums for advice...

What brand and size of of speaker is that in the front dash?
Hi. I have the audi sound system as standard in my 8v. But the dashboard speaker keeps crackling? Sounds like static. Worse when the car is cold. Do you know what the problem might be? Thanks
No sure unfortunately brad. Maybe check wiring. Or could be damaged. not come across that issue.
Hi Tim, first of all...great vids, please tell me, if i disconnect the MMI unit and i reconnect it will the sistem ask for a code or password in order to work again?

No code or password will appear if you disconnect MMI plug mate...mine didn't and I did it a few times...

you can connect directly with the back speackers from mmi wires ,mine works perfectly after 2 years

Centre speaker is from MJR901...give him a message on Facebook...he works for VAG group and sells new parts at discounted price.

oh wow so if you don't have the bang and Olufsen set up you don't have the centre speaker?
You do have the speaker if you have audi sound system (level 2) If you have basic system (level 1) like I did then no....
