How I Pick My Mods : Gorgeous Carbon Y Pipe Install

- Hey Everyone,
Today we are back working on the S4. This time around, I figured we would start at the very beginning of the process. A lot of focus is put on the install, but I think people should put just as much on what happens before. Finding the issue you want to fix, researching potential options, and making a plan is quite possibly the best way to make sure your part install goes smoothly. So while today we are upgrading the Y pipe on the S4, we are actually starting the story a lot earlier.
Thank you for watching

What a cool idea for a video. People never make content like this. This is part of the process!!! Awesome stuff as always hunter. Appreciate you man!
I am so stoked you liked my idea! Thank you a ton for the support. I really appreciate it!
I picked up some rebuilt and powder coated 17z for like 500$ on eBay from a guy who builds 17/18z front and rears for a living. Then grabbed bolts from JHM, rotors from SEP and rs4 stainless lines from I think urotuning. Was pretty decent price and they stop amazing. And they look even better. Really happy with that decision. Love the videos! My nogaro is full stage 3 with JHM rs6rs on e85 and makes 450/475 but I’m already bored with that power so I’m looking to build a motor this winter and go either top mount twin g25 550s or a big single, I’m not sure yet.
Great job on the video! Thank you for the support!
Great video! I appreciate your emphasis on how long the research process takes. Just when you think you know something you stumble upon new information or references.
I just came from a stage 3 setup and started out using the same air intake you have. To get more flow out of your intake setup and get the most out of the new y-pipe, I highly recommend you purchase the 2.7T MAF Intake CAI from ETSpec. There is less chance of post MAF vacuum leaks, it will fit with the 034 carbon fiber heat shield and the airflow is noticeably better. When I installed that intake pipe my AFR's went lean idle to WOT which needed to be adjusted during tuning.
My previous setup from filter to throttle body. Roughly 420whp @22psi 93OCT
034 carbon heat shield
2.7T MAF Intake CAI ETSpec
Stock Y-Pipe
034 Lobster Claws
710N Diverter Valves
034 RS4 Replica Turbo Inlet Kit
BW RS6 Turbo's
AWE SMIC's
APR Bi-Pipe
3 Bar MAP
Bosch EV14 635cc Injectors
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
Hey man nice video. Just a word of warning, I have seen many guys with these carbon Y pipes develop cracks and leaks. Just be aware.
Pushing 500whp through a stock Y pipe for 60k miles and it runs great. No lack of air. That carbon piece does look great though!
Always get excited when i see the post notifications
Same...lol
I'm happy to hear you look forward to the videos! I really appreciate that.
Looking like a certified "yeah buddy" enjoyer
I’m going to need a video on the radio/head unit install
The carbon fiber looks way better then the red!!👍 Did you ever find out if your car has the auto open and close feature with the windows? My car is supposedly a “limo” version so I’m curious if that’s one of the features of it being a “limo”.
I thought my TT did the same thing but I'm not sure on how to activate it if was turned off some how
@@jungillestt02 you should just be able to either use the key by putting it in the door lock and holding it in the unlock position until all windows go down or by holding down the unlock button on fob until windows go down.
@@DustySteel the key in door works but the fob doesn't. Maybe it has to be programmed?
@@jungillestt02 that’s cool! I’m not sure, my fob hasn’t worked in years and I haven’t cared enough to replace it.
@@DustySteel there's a site you can send a picture of your key and they'll send you a new fob and code it for you
I love S4 content.
very good video buddy!
Hey thank you ! I appreciate that man. We've gotta catch up soon!
@@HunterDirection ya for sure
As always phenomenal video! I just upgraded my brakes yesterday to the ECS lightweight rotors paired with EBC yellow stuff pads and so far they stop on a dime. I’d highly recommend that you check them out.
I definitely will look into them. Is that on stock calipers? My car does stop it's just not quite where i'd like it. Thank you for the support and the great suggestion!
@@HunterDirection Yes they are on stock calipers. I went with them because it’s the bang for buck without having to go for a set of 18z brakes which are significantly more and they wouldn’t fit under my 17” wheels but glad I could help!
Why you choose to work with Motoza and not Blake Beadle? I'm just curious, I want to start to tune my allroad!
Oh nothing at all against Blake. I just haven't met him yet. I went with Motoza because I had a good experience with them on some previous cars. There good people!
@@HunterDirection Everyone with 2.7 they go with Blake and I was curious why you chose different path!
rip the hoses
that engine needs some covers
I agree. Even just the battery cover would make it leagues better. Thank you for the support
Awesome video as usual bro. Your engine bay is looking alot like mine. The only eye sore in it now is the coolant tank, which I've contemplated painting with a strip of tape on it to still read the level. Excited for more man!
Painting the coolant tank is a super rad idea🤔 I like the tape idea too. Thank you for the support!
Please don’t paint your coolant reservoir. Just get a new one if it’s old, yours doesn’t look bad. Also, make sure you don’t tighten the clamps on that 034 Y-Pipe too tight. They are known for cracking. Should be okay.
I wonder what route hes gonna go!?!? get the brembo?? or the weird brand i cant remember the name of? or Ive seen people take, c5 Porche cayman?...brakes and slightly modify them to fit the S4. So excited, can't wait.
Thanks
Love your channel man. Love your narrating, editing and content!
Goddamn I even beat the notification to this video :p
