Solas ☀️ A Seat With A View! Ballyness Bay 🌊

Welcome to Heather's Backyard! I’m excited to share a video that holds a special place in my heart. It’s one I’ve spent a lot of time editing to make sure I captured the beauty and depth of the moment. A few weeks ago, I took an evening walk along Ballyness Bay Beach in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal, Ireland. The sky was calm, the waves softly rolling in, and as I wandered up into the sand dunes, I was introduced to Solas, A Seat With A View "Supporting Mental Health Recovery: Walking, talking & listening" -simple, yet so powerful. On the benches was a heartfelt dedication to mental health in memory of someone who had lost their life. It really struck me how important it is to take a moment to reflect on our own mental well-being.
In the midst of our busy lives, it’s easy to forget how crucial mental health is. We often focus on taking care of our bodies, but tending to our minds is just as vital. Whether it’s through a moment of quiet reflection, pursuing hobbies that bring joy, or even seeking professional support, nurturing our mental health is a journey worth investing in. And remember, it’s okay to ask for help and make yourself a priority.
For me, being outside has always been a great way to clear my mind. Whether it’s walking along the beach, or snorkeling in the ocean, nature always brings me back to what matters most. While filming, I was lucky enough to spot some salmon jumping in the water, which made the moment even more special. It reminded me of the simple joys that can lift our spirits.
So, whatever your self-care looks like-whether it’s a walk, reading a book, exercising, or just chilling out with your favorite show-make sure you carve out time for yourself. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and even the smallest acts of self-care can make a world of difference.
