Classical, jazz, xmas, opera, pink floyd..Finest reproduction of music I ever heard Wish more stores played other things on demo... Thank you Bose You've got it soooo right!
To get the Max out of your MAX you need to operate it with an AUX cable and eventually an Apple USB-C (Lightning) dongle paired with Tidal's Hi-Res Music. You'll be amazed at the quality difference. Bluetooth connection has only a very limited bitrate of 256 kbps, while with a cable you get 24bit depth and 48khz High-Res music transferred to the box. I was actually blown away how good the speaker is when fed with real good signal. Try it out and compare.
Do you have any video lip sync lag when using the Aux or BT? Also have you experienced any battery drain? Mine went from 100% to 80% after I've week off non-use and was sitting at 60% after 3 weeks of non use....
Agreed Scott ! we like it too much and went to buy two the quality is better than i expect i personally find it cheap, got them on sales $419 CAD = $300 USD the clarity and base are awesome where ever how ever you put it the bass can go quite low and yet punchy without using sub Love it so much i got my son to order another one 👏
I personally like to pair to Bluetooth speakers together for left and right stereo. I have two Bose Flex speakers that I pair and carry on the sides of my backpack. And, as a singer, I can use them in performance to play the instrumental background when I don’t have a pianist to work with. But generally you’re right. Bose has a lousy app that they desperately need to update. It doesn’t work in trying to pair two speakers together. Doing it manually generally works, but it can take forever.
I pair my SoundLink Flex every time I use them... Looking forward to pairing the SoundLink Max as soon as the firmware update allows for it (I got to get them on sale though !)
Picked it up this week for $299 during Boses 48 hour sale - I was using 2 Bose flexes linked together but as soon as I used this you can hear the difference ! Like you said, it’s better than the 2 flex’s connected ! Thanks for the review !
@@InSurrealtimeI haven't purchased the new Flex yet bc I have 3 of the 1st Gens... plus dropping $700.⁰⁰ on these AND Another $1500.00 for 2x S1 Pro+ ANNNND $3,000.⁰⁰ on a F1 812 w/Sub , just last year.!!😂 I'm SPENT!
Love my Flex in stereo pair. Watch movies, concerts and music in stereo in my bed and I find it brilliant. If they released the Max to linked a stereo pair, I would have bought 2 immediately and pissed that they did not release this as an option. Dumb move. Have not tested this speaker yet, but I believe in 2 stereo. Same when they updated the Revolve plus. Took my speaker back and stuck with my original Revolve plus stereo able pair speakers.
I wasnt a fan of it for the price at all. I exchanged it for the JBL Partybox 320. I rather have quality sound and massive bass. Sure it is much bigger and less portable, but for $400 it was a no brainer for me to return the Soundlink Max. Two diff classes of speakers
@3:24 I absolutely would ONLY listen with two paired in stereo. I had 2 JBL Charge 5 in stereo. After you try them in stereo, You won't listen with just one anymore.
I have a companion 2 series years ago, unfortunately I had to sell due to the connections. Then I had a JBL extreme, very good, now I have JBL Flip 5, small but very good quality and bass is incredible for the size. But this is gonna be my next one, Bose is always the best, always smaller and sound quality the best!
Well done review. Appreciate the conversational style. The sell point of this speaker is that it’s all purpose. You can sort of justify taking it anywhere for the sounds quality/size.
I have a bose max is the beast and ı have a monster blaster 3.0 maybe little beat louder monster bass but bose is fair play not heavy and carrying every where ı love this speaket
I can't decide between the Max and the Sonos Move 2, could you please help? I have the Soundlink Flex and i love it, so my gut is telling me to go for the Max, but the Move 2 apparently has better quality sound based on the reviews that i've watched, so i'm kinda struggling. To be clear, i only care about sound quality, everything else doesn't really matter. Is that really true that the Move 2 sounds better and which one should i go for? I would really appreciate if you guided me towards a decision, thanks!
There is a flaw with this speaker and a flaw with this review. If you open the speaker, there is a single tweeter in the middle, where vocals come from, and two woofers on the left and right. This is a flawed design that goes against physics (which dictates that tweeters should be left and right with the woofer in the middle as low frequencies have less directivity). This fundamental flaw causes poor soundstage. Vocals that are stereo come out mono and completely wrong. If you listen to Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles you will see that left and right vocals sound all wrong. If, instead, you pair 2 Bose Flex gen 2, you get proper stereo with proper stereo vocals. And you get that proper stereo at lower price. A basehead will just care about the base and not about vocals, as this review suggests, so a max will appeal to baseheads.
How can you say all that when the Bose Flex Gen2 doesn't even have tweeters, but only 1 full range driver + 1 passive radiator? Even the top of the line Bose sound bars have only 1 tweeter. It seems a single high quality, properly optimized tweeter in the middle suffices for Bose.
I would say $400 is much but the sound quality is worth the price. Jbl is a good speaker as well had one but this one just got me the best experience while playing some relaxing music. ❤❤❤
@@ScottsReviews I went on the official bose site, and it was that price, I couldn't believe it, within a few hours it had gone back up in price, I was so lucky to get it, right place at the right time sir.
