Thanks! Yeah it's annoying to drop combos because of that, but trust me, you feel like a genius every once in a while you get the perfect combo from the perfect placement, that's easily worth it👌
fuck yeah! a Lars Video! this is my boy since he dropped. Ive been playing Tekken since the first, but my playstyle in fighting games truly came into being when I started playing him. (i came from the hworang video) unfortunately I didnt learn frame data until I got into GG Strive, so at the time I became a full reaction type punish rushdown player - ( my favorite move is the Knee counter into Violence) by learning the command list by pure experimentation. I did not spam random buttons. ( I did study it later in the future) Though it didnt help that I had to fight over 20 matches a day against my brother growing up because he wanted to be a Tekken pro ( this was Dark Resurrection). I love fighting games, and man, you really put it all into simple words. Great work! subbed and clubbed ( hit your notification bell) Thanks for putting the character into strategy. This is really going to up my game across the board. For anyone else, the answer for getting better at defense is to watch their character move, not yours. learn where and how your moves position you relative to them, and get use to moving left and right, forward and back consistently. (especially through your move set) You are pretty much just watching for body language imo. once you register that, you see those lows coming a mile away. Also the better you know your own moves, the easier it is to learn your enemies. If i could make a exercise, id say - ignore frame data (initially) and practice coming up with different answers to attacks from your enemy. its rough, but once you learn it, reading is really easy, without even learning move sets or frame data directly. There is more value from your moves than frame data and damage. In Tekken in particular, positioning of your body is heavily emphasized (hence near misses), so you really have to treat them as people in 3D space.
Thanks for the feedback! Hearing about your experience in fighting games gives me a big smile 😁 Yeah movement is really important but honestly I tend to cheat out that part by doing the absolute minimal amount of work required 😅
Thanks! Well I already recorded some stuff with Steve but I was getting hopkicked and punch parried so much that I ended up just waiting out and punishing whatever was coming. So it might be a bit boring, but I'll probably try something to fix that. What are you looking for? Some funky entertainment, or me trying to play well?
@@friendlykoala understandable, playing him on ranked can be challenging, mainly good setups, mixups, and frame advantages he can be negative with some of his moves quite often, seeing some stylish stuff with the guv from you would be amazing nonetheless.
@@Shiny_Shini I initially went to ranked with absolutely no Steve tech. The plan was to make a video titled "Do you need execution with Steve?" Turns out, it was a bad idea xD I'll do my best to work on him and meet your expectations 💪
I WANNA GET TO HIGH RANKS IF THIS IS WHAT IT TAKES. Next video I wanna see Hwoarang so I can just copy you on how to get cheap wins since my methods aren't working
I have some content with Hwoarang, but since it's a bit underwhelming I decided to wait a bit until I lab some more interesting stuff. But alright, I've taken note of your request 👌
Honestly I think having a clunky input for a bufferable 14f launch is a fair trade with Bryan and Lars, but it's absolutely horrendous to use as a whiff punish tool... Can't tell the amount of times the f input made me walk into the second hit of a string lol
@@friendlykoala Yup, same here... sometimes I choose a less rewarding punisher just to avoid these situations happening 😅 You have great reaction speed, is it familiarity with the moves or simply reaction? Here's a content idea: Why not make videos about setups of 1 or more characters(so the videos aren't too long)...you could even make shorts focusing on multiple setups for a character at a time. Many people rely on setups and some of the struggle of ranking up is learning these setups, not so much improving at the game
@@JustN0tMe Thanks, well it's a mix of reaction and familiarity. There are many things I know on paper that I can't apply due to not being used to see some specific situations... Yeah, someone requested an Armor king video about his setups, and I'm editing it right now. On the other side I'm preparing an anti-Hwoarang lab video. So these videos might give you what you want :D
Oh that part is just me being silly. The move is safe but since I can then sidestep the opponent's attack (usually) he just doesn't dare attacking. 😅 Welcome to the Tekken community then! I'd recommend watching channels like PeterYMao or That Blasted Salami, they are really good at sharing the good stuff to know about the game 👌
Thank you for the answer and the advices. I’m a lee player so i like to watch imyourfather and miirio even tho i don’t learn a lot they are funny to watch. @@ivanorlando6502 oh right, I was doing the same in Tag 2 (the previous game). Ranked can be brutal, people play as cheap as they can so even if some players can ruin your day, it's still a great way to learn how to deal with the cheese. And yeah, thing with the big players is, we don't really understand what they are doing when we are new, people told me to just watch JDCR and Knee, but turns out the best way to learn the game was just to keep playing it xD

Watching this makes me wanna play lars again
He sure is fun from time to time 😁
For those who had trouble with Lars, just ssr->block to shut off his orbital, u3, and many other moves from standing, and ssl his stance.
You just kill that character if you do those things

Amazing lars bro i wish i play him like that

I can't believe we have almost the same playstyle
Oh that's cool! Hope you aren't struggling too much 😆
I feel I became very confident with this style and with Lars too, it can be noticed a lot looking at my old videos and then some of my newest

Did you seriously reacted to jin's d4? That move is fast af. I'm probably too old to react that fast though
