This panel discussion will discuss the reasons why the three panelists decided to launch new, local news outlets in three large, global cities, particularly what was missing in their respective news landscapes. Then, they’ll discuss their main challenges and lessons learned in catering to their local audiences, how they define and carry out their editorial strategies, and how they get their journalism to people who need it the most. The panelists will also discuss their business strategies, their business takeaways from other local news outlets in their cities, and how they plan to reach financial sustainability.
