- Bags are packed and we are ready to hit the trail, again! Join us on Day 2 of our 6-day trek through the Langtang Valley in Nepal! We have another full day of hiking uphill, moving from a forested landscape to rocky terrain. We start our day at the Lama Hotel, you can watch as the weather progresses and the clouds move in. Shortly after lunch it begins raining, and we spend the rest of the day hiking in the rain. We pass over Langtang Village, now covered by a landslide that was triggered by the 2015 earthquake. We stop at a few tea houses along the way and we get to try sea buckthorn juice for the first time. In Mundu, we warm up with dinner and a wood-burning stove before heading to bed.
Follow our journey, as we continue to backpack and hike with our three young kids in Nepal.
We were backpackers before having kids, and luckily we get to continue sharing our love for backpacking with our kids. If you love hiking and want to hike with your kids, Nepal is a great destination for your family.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, seven years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. The vlogs are epic, but I just wanted to address the fact that how lucky you are that you have found a tour guide/company that accommodates young children and genuinely looks after them. I know how hard it is to travel with kids... anyways loving the videos and enjoy the rest of the journey.

I found your channel literally yesterday! Actually have been following Heraldo for some years now and your video just popped into my random UA-cam suggestions. Mmbe because he too did the Langtang trek past winter, idk. I know the locations and what place is going to come next, but having said that, I'm so loving your videos and these episodes that I binge watched this series till early hrs today. Your whole family hiking together is such a delightful sight. I just miss more local interactions in their videos. Juts try talking to the locals and try to learn the culture, language, help out in the kitchen, you will be introduced to the warmth and smiles of Nepali people. Harald is the most popular foreign vlogger in Nepal because he emerges himself with the local people and is so humble; he never comes off as patronizing. It takes efforts and real interest to do so. This family's langtang trek was waaaay better than Haralds version. Travelling with young kids and vlogging in the rough terrain while trekking is no easy. Harald also got wiped out in the trek and fell ill. So yeah your comment was pretty short sighted.

I just made a point about interaction with the locals and emerging yourself into the culture. And as far as "way better" is concerned, Harald's trek vlog has 2.3m views, 122k likes and 7.4k comments which makes him the winner in terms of the stats too. So I dont know which was " way better".
