Wow +Woxlayks , just saw this comment. Thank you very much. I appreciate that you appreciate my approach towards comments : ) It's rare in live performances that the audience is comfortable/blunt enough to share criticism after a performance. While it's sometimes tough to hear, I like that I can get less-filtered input through online comments!
Trigg Watson Magic your trick was lame as hell i was doing that trick when I was 10. A good one to do is make the coin go into the inside down glass with water in it. Well to be honest there is a little cut on the bottom so when you turn it upside down it will be up top. Then you move your fingers and fling some glitter and poof the coin is in the cup.
What I like about the clips I find for this show is that even if the magicians don't fool penn and teller. They still get to walk away with the admiration of knowing two top level magicians consider them good. Honesty it's a gameshow where every act walks away a winner in their own right, kind of apprentices being acknowledged one way or another
I've been watching a bunch of these videos uploaded by the original performers and I'm glad they do. Even though none of them fool P&T, they're still so much fun to watch for the layperson. Magic is magic, and even more so when you've no clue what's going to happen!
You have to watch his hands closely: 1. Misdirect by joking about the video of his eye. 2. load the vase/flowers behind the iPad. At 1:38 you can see the flowers behind the iPad cover. 3. It's running a special app that acts as a camera until the screen is clicked. This can be seen at 2:10. He was a fraction of a second off when lifting the iPad which gave it away. It was a very good though! It;s definitely no where near as easy recognizing the way the trick was performed.
Don't want to say too much, but it was under the red shirt. I thought I was seeing something but it's clearly there. I can only assume it's part of the quick change come loose. It wasn't there at first.
+William Hayden the quick change puts the original shirt (which is only a front) into the jacket and then he drops the jacket. i didn't see any bulge under the red shirt and there didn't really need to be one for it to work
+William Hayden Well this bulge you're seeing is just the shirt. But it wasn't there before you say? Remember there's a lot of editing done to this before it goes on the air. You can see at 5:55 the shirt isn't tucked in. Then next camera switch at 5:57 it's perfectly tucked in. The bulge is just a baggy shirt. Does look a bit weird though like he's got a little pot belly. :)
Nice job, TRiGG! Also, thanks for getting involved with the people on UA-cam by replying; says a lot about your goodness. After reading this thread and finding out from you that they edited out the option to have Jonathan look through the remaining cards (that IS what you meant, correct?), the illusion would have had more "wow" than it does with that part out....I thought the remaining cards were all Angry Bird cards--(were they??!!).....If not, perhaps YOU should have shown the remaining cards that Jon did not select....Merry Christmas, TRiGG!
+M Stephens Yep, that is what I meant. I agree with you, and I actually did. Just not clear in the final edit. Thank you for the comment and the thoughts!
Hey Trigg, nice routine. I've been saving this for a while after seeing it. The second half would be super for kids in a school. With that wind up, my apps are Minecraft and then Angry Birds on a giant iPad. The "isolation chamber" is a minecraft cube head which the mark doesn't see . The apps to choose from will apparently be all random, rather than all Minecraft (clocks in your case) with a "free choice" from any app. For me, I think it will sell better if the audience thinks it's a genuine trick until the end. I can't find an Angry Birds shirt tall enough for me so it's made from iron-on material. I don't know how your prediction changed on the stand. Great move there. I'm going with a simple double large envelope. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration!
Really great. I love the speed of it, the timing leading from one trick to the next was really good. I get a bit bored when tricks are stretched out too much but any stretching here was needed for gag effects. Great family stage magic at its best. This is the style they should use at the top holiday camps in the UK, but instead they go all arty and the kids (and adults) often get bored even though the tricks are often worth the wait. Four tricks in less than 5 mins including audience participation and gags takes some doing.
@ 1:41 if you notice in the audience is a volunteer in the "Brian Brushwood on Penn & Teller: Fool Us!" video, named Sean. Same white guy, he works for the show.
with the camera at the top of the pad you could only see your hand behind when up the top but the flower could be seen on screen all the way down when lifting pad up even tho the camera would be out of line with it
+404killer haha well that's a new theory. I wish that I had the ability to pull something out of my sleeve that quickly! Here's another performance with sleeves rolled up. ua-cam.com/video/_nzG1EcMWW0/v-deo.html
+NinjaBallista when you put the clock on the stand you tilted the stand at the same time you flipped the clock to give the illusion that you turned it around but you flipped it to reveal the angry bird
when he asked is that enough for you to say they know. i was wait for him to be like "are you kidding? hes rubbing it in a little bit." it was a great act though
I really love the name. It's sounds and looks awesome. Trigg. I grew up hating my own name, because I'm a girl, named Markie. I always got picked on for it. But after awhile, I found its better to be more towards one of a kind than to blend in with a bland name.
+mrBorkD Not pre-recorded. Little more complicated than that actually. Illusion can be performed in front of any background/environment without pre-filming. Good guess though!
+TRiGG Magic What I meant, was the vase effect was pre-recorded(or pre-made if you will). Both the appearing fade-in, and the sliding downwards, are screen effects. I believe that the actual vase can be flattened, and in some way hidden between the front of the ipad, and the camera(since it's not a standard camera). It's quite weird how the background on the ipad seems to show much more than we actually see on the video: but this is probably due to perspective, and camera zoom-in.
Not a bad act, but it had some issues. The appearing vase was a failure imo - I can see this being effective, but the mechanics weren't smooth enough for the illusion to seem believable. The cards "all" being clocks - Showing 1 on the top and 3 on the bottom forcing the Angry Birds card (all other cards with the exception of the revealed clocks were Angry Birds), the top card is pinned and the bottom cards well under many force cards - I felt this was weak, making the matching Angry Bird app trick less effective. The capper was excellent however.. a 2 out of 5 - This guy will be great in 10 years.
+Russell Scott Thanks for the comments Russell! I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback. Thought you might enjoy seeing a more effectively performed/filmed version of my iPad illusion ua-cam.com/video/_nzG1EcMWW0/v-deo.html (again, no camera tricks, pre-filming, or post-prod editing used to accomplish). It is always a challenge when you do not have the time to rehearse appropriate camera angles with the film crew (obviously was not a flawless execution on my part either, but the angle did not help). Also, you might be interested to know that the cards that Jonathan selected from were handed to Jonathan at the end for his examination (every one of them clocks, no angry birds). They were not as you say "just 1 on top and 3 on the bottom," though the final edit unfortunately did not show me fanning all of the cards. In addition, the app card that changed in the mic stand was also handed to Jonathan at the end for examination (free from trickery). Unfortunately, this was not clear in the final edit, as they shortened the performance for TV, and trimmed some time out. Again, thanks for your thoughts, I always enjoy reading candid reviews from viewers, as it helps improve my future performances. And if you are serious about giving me decade to become great, why not follow my journey on facebook! : ) facebook.com/triggwatson. Cheers, Trigg Watson
Thanks for the response Trigg. I do understand the complications of dealing with producers and time constraints. I'll check out the better version. PS: if you ever want to discuss your magic on my YT show, I'd be honored to have you as a guest. :)
When Penn said "quick change" what does he mean did u change the card at some point? I don't c any point at which you would have been able to switch the cards.
There is something wrong with the camera app in this trick. When he lifts the iPad and the last part of the flower comes out of view on the iPad screen, you can see space between the top of the flower and the bottom of the iPad immediately. This means there is some sort of prerecorded video or something similar because the camera hole/opening is at the top of the iPad and the flower (being so close the back of the iPad) would never be in view of the camera from that short distance.
next thing you're gonna tell me is that the vase didn't really fade into reality slowly.. of course it's prerecorded, including all the little movements. It's a choreography of moves and timing that he immitates with his hand behind the tablet
Hi Trigg, I am an old magician and I like to see old tricks with new dress. You have change an small trick into a modern stage story. And you fool me. I do not know how you change the single clock to angry bird. Very good
+Ambisinistrous You probably won't believe me, but this is actually what the camera is picking up (the camera is live, and the entire screen isn't pre-recorded...see a different performance here done outside - ua-cam.com/video/_nzG1EcMWW0/v-deo.html). That said, re-watching I am also amazed that the camera picked up all those green bars. Must be a wide angle lens.
UA-cam kinda spoils the mystery. If you slow things down you can see hints here and there that the camera pics up. Great act though. Id still be scratching my head if I wasn't able to slow it down.
+Steven Nelson To be fair, UA-cam does not spoil the mystery, it just enables THE AUDIENCE to spoil the illusion for themselves. The decision to live in the mystery, or not, is now the audience's responsibility. After all, you are the one that decided slow the video down : )
Me and my friends got to see billy Mac combs he was with Chuck wendly and other illusionist at school magic show we went to all did good and billy macomb did a cookie version of misers dream added with what first looked like floating silver zombie ball in mid air then he reveals as he turns to the side lol hehehe it's a soup ladle lol cool science :)
Great work. I'm only tempted to comment because Trigg seems to be replying. The first trick seems to be a custom "video" that overlays pre-recorded green-screened footage over whatever the camera can see. Pretty cool. The fact the physical camera is in the corner on the rear of the device helps hiding the real vase from the iPads camera, but it also kills the illusion when the flower is in the middle of the screen, but then also in the middle of the pad when lifted. (With the offset camera; the vase should also be offset.) As for the choice by Jonathan, I think there are only 3 "Clock" cards which are probably hidden behind angry bird cards by magnets or such shenanigans (hence Penn's "Magnetism" comment.) I also think one of the three is the same card that was originally hanging on the phone. (which had an angry birds card magnetically stuck to it when it was taken off the phone?) Let me know how wrong I am! :)
+Joe Whittingham Aaaaand I think the few clock cards that are presented to Jonathan are all at the bottom of the deck, and never spread out for him to chose from. Nice reverse psychology with "This is not a force ~_~ "
Rough and smooth like invisible deck of cards and phantom deck of cards David Seth kotkin Christian illusionist Copperfield uses those kinds of deck of cards and record albums covers
+Joe Whittingham Thanks for the thoughts! Nope, no magnets in the cards Jonathan chose from. It was cut out of the final edit, but they actually were given to Jonathan to examine at the end.
+TRiGG Magic Nope, no rough and smooth (though that could have been a feasible method). Cards were fully examinable by Jonathan at the end of the routine (though the final edit didn't show it!)
The issue i saw with this was at the beginning with the ipad, in the home screen, the apps were all pointing the correct direction but the camera app had the tool bar at the top, meaning the ipad had to be upside down.
Trigg, a magician who does not need a stooge selects an assistant randomly. The selection process (throwing the ball for instance) would provide even more fun than selection of Jonathan and at the same time convince the public that the trick is clean and no foul play is involved. I think this is much more valuable for the magician, this is why confident magicians use it getting a respect they deserve. But your denial is very much expected but does not eliminate the fact that your selection was not random.
+Valentine Epstein I understand your point of view, and can understand why you would be naturally suspicious. Happy to say that I've been performing the routine in my live stage show for over a year with random spectators chosen every time. There were a variety of factors that went into selecting Jonathan for this particular performance (one of which was the fact that he already had a microphone on him so that when he named the app, he could be heard, and also that he would be comfortable with my verbal banter). I always enjoy hearing peoples' impressions/feedback. So thank you for sharing yours!
i have an idea on how he did the vase, i don't really know how he hid it at first.. but that's a magician's game in the end. but the second was really easy to know how. if you look at all the cards you'd know the trick easily.. pretty simple and clean display though, except for the part where he switched the t-shirt, that was pretty clear. it was quite entertaining though
I thought the app was fake. just look at the background on the stage, then look at the back ground on the ipad......it it looks smaller, like what? Are my eyes tricking me?Am I the only one seeing this?Am I high.....Am I even real?
Hello @Archound Penrose. Trigg is an Old Norse name, which is likely why you haven't heard of it. To clarify, "Trigg" is derivative of of the Old Norse surname name, Tryggr or Triggr, meaning “trustworthy, faithful, true”. While Trig and Trigg have been in use since medieval times, the use of "i" instead of "y" is an English modification of the Old Norse name. Hope that helps clear it up. You can read more here - www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Trigg
this trick was so easy to see through. Just clock pics at the top and bottom then force the middle card which was always angry birds. the have angry boards under the clock app pic. easy.
Hi Arman, good guesses! But a little more complicated than that actually. They cut it out of the final edit, but stack of cards were examinable by Jonathan Ross at the end.
I mean, the vase with pulling the sinking flowers was the best part. Im sure we all know that the app, selected by the host, wouldnt have been a clock, Stacked with clocks, and the rest are angry birds.
I enjoyed the presentation. Just gotta work on the timing a little bit more. For example in the appearing vase trick the image on the ipad started moving before you started actually lifting the ipad up
Hi +3079daddy, thanks for your comment. Just to clarify, the camera app is NOT just a pre-recorded video. The camera app is live and picks up whatever background is behind the iPad. iPad cameras don't usually show the exact same perspective, so that's why the "grid" alignment was off. That said, I appreciate you watching closely and your attention to detail!
i honestly thought the ipad trick wasn't thought through enough, i couldn't help but look at the size of the back drop and how the ipad can see all of it, like that is one wide af lens if it wasn't actually a recording
Wow.. spot on with the 7+ prediction. That's the real magic in this act! Hhahahha those dang smart phones are huge now.. Seriously though. I don't think this video is great quality, but the performance is good. Your jokes and dialogue seem a little cheesy for my taste but your performance is very solid. Well done!
The home button is on the bottom, it's just a mistake he was hoping no one would notice. It feels more 'magical' haveing the flower line up with the flower on the screen. But it gives the trick awaty
I had gym class with this dude, was always doing magic tricks for us. Was the nicest guy I've ever met. He deserves every bit of his success!
wow. Thanks dude! Message me! Would enjoy reconnecting.
Go Panthers!
I always get a kick out of running into asmrtists on random videos :D

Yes, P&T treat the acts all very positively. Being on the show is a great experience, regardless of the outcome!
I went to Primary school with Trigg - so exciting to see how far he has gone 😊 such a lovely guy - all the best!
Just saw this guy tonight in Dallas. Did not expect him to call on me first, but I was right up close, and his hand Magic was flawless. Great stuff.

Hey Bro, just had to pause the vid and say HELL YEAH DALLAS TX, I am here as well in the 75231 zip. Way to represent Sir ;)
You have to watch his hands closely:

+Chris Baca yep, i think that's it too
There was no iPad
+Bandit Leader The vase trick used an iPad. Which was the punchline. The EyePad. From the camera.
Christian Gregorio yeah but that isnt the IPad. thats the EyePad
Bandit Leader oh damn i gotta rethink my life
CREATIVE MAGIC SHOW! I LOVE IT!
That was so cool
Thanks dude : )
The T-shirt is a nice touch :)
I really liked the clip, always like more comedy in the magic shows :D
Thanks @Spiritlink!
awesome trick. he is so adorable 😍😍 have my babies trigggg
lol I'm blushing.
You did a great job Trigg. I've watched this several times and enjoy it every time. Thanks.
Awesome performance! Very clean and very original! Don't listen to the haters.
I liked the routine. The appearing vase was by far the best part. I was cringing at the end because of the bulge.
+William Hayden Thanks William! Glad you liked it. Out of complete curiosity, what "bulge" are you referring to?
Don't want to say too much, but it was under the red shirt. I thought I was seeing something but it's clearly there. I can only assume it's part of the quick change come loose. It wasn't there at first.
+William Hayden the quick change puts the original shirt (which is only a front) into the jacket and then he drops the jacket. i didn't see any bulge under the red shirt and there didn't really need to be one for it to work
You don't see the bulge as he walks off stage? Hmmm, I clearly see it, though I can't explain it. It really doesn't matter.
Nice performance. Really cool punch line at the end. greetings from Argentina.
¡Muchas gracias!
the tricks in the intro were cooler than most intros I've seen
Well done. You didn't fool the best, but you got their respect. And that's a really big thing.
Excellent!
The sleight of product placement:D
If only I had received any amount of compensation for the plug. That would have been nice :)
Lol next time! Hopefully!
I enjoy your new twist with technology and magic. Good Luck thanks for sharing
Thanks David!

This was fun.
1:52 you can see the white vase in his sleeve
+404killer haha well that's a new theory. I wish that I had the ability to pull something out of my sleeve that quickly! Here's another performance with sleeves rolled up. ua-cam.com/video/_nzG1EcMWW0/v-deo.html
No he was just playing a video, and it did come out his sleeve
+NinjaBallista I know it came out his sleeve but you can see when he is pulling the iPad up it does not align with the flower
Never mind after watching it for the 10th time I think the vase was on the back of the iPad the whole time
+NinjaBallista when you put the clock on the stand you tilted the stand at the same time you flipped the clock to give the illusion that you turned it around but you flipped it to reveal the angry bird

it was a great act though

In case anyone wasn't sure/couldn't hear properly, the magician Penn references is Billy McComb
An amazing performance on AGT. It seems you have grown with the tech.
Certainly. The speed of technological progression forces innovation!
Love the shirt change!! 💜
Great job man! I liked it.
Thanks Dylan!
Woah! Do I know anything about magic? No. But that makes it all the better!
u could see part of his blue and white shirt when he took off the jackett left from the quickchange
The ipad trick kinda moved me. You should do more tricks with beautiful music playing - and flowers!
Duly noted : )

They key thing penn said was it truly "Magnifying" the guy gives a laugh at the end.
2:15 you can see at this point that what's on the screen is pre-recorded.
+mrBorkD Not pre-recorded. Little more complicated than that actually. Illusion can be performed in front of any background/environment without pre-filming. Good guess though!

cooooooooooooooool !!!!!
When Penn said "quick change" what does he mean did u change the card at some point? I don't c any point at which you would have been able to switch the cards.
Michael Lieberman Actually the term quick change usually refers to the act of changing clothes. In this case, he was referring to my shirt changing.
enjoyed that one

Hi Trigg, I am an old magician and I like to see old tricks with new dress. You have change an small trick into a modern stage story. And you fool me. I do not know how you change the single clock to angry bird. Very good
+carloskronopio Thanks Carlos!
You're my favorite, good job :D
+Chuckderp awwww shucks. Thanks : )
:)
you did an awesome job! Wish it was a tad bit smoother but I cant wait to see your future work
Thanks Tahira. I also wish it was a tad bit smoother, and I also can't wait to see my future work, so that makes two of us!
very funny, very entertaining!
I like that he jokingly calls the huge iPhone a 7+ since this was filmed years ago, because I’m watching on an iPhone 8 lol
LOVE THIS CREATIVE COOL AWESOME TRICKS HE DID I LOVE IT 💕💕💕💖💖💖💞💞💞😂
Thanks Denita!
+TRiGG Magic your welcome. OMG YOU REPLIED THANK YOU
The ipad screen shows the whole green circuitry set background, but the camera would only see a couple of green bars from that position.
After all, you are the one that decided slow the video down : )
human nature to want to know, that you'll never change trigg
"To give ONE PUNCH-line."
Me and my friends got to see billy
Mac combs he was with Chuck wendly and other illusionist at school magic show we went to all did good and billy macomb did a cookie version of misers dream added with what first looked like floating silver zombie ball in mid air then he reveals as he turns to the side lol hehehe it's a soup ladle lol cool science :)
(With the offset camera; the vase should also be offset.)
As for the choice by Jonathan, I think there are only 3 "Clock" cards which are probably hidden behind angry bird cards by magnets or such shenanigans (hence Penn's "Magnetism" comment.) I also think one of the three is the same card that was originally hanging on the phone. (which had an angry birds card magnetically stuck to it when it was taken off the phone?)
Let me know how wrong I am!
Wow then you were very brave to use a magicians force :) God Bless everyone InChrist always chubby billpage illusionist magician in fun:)🐇
2:45 lol the 7 Plus XD
The issue i saw with this was at the beginning with the ipad, in the home screen, the apps were all pointing the correct direction but the camera app had the tool bar at the top, meaning the ipad had to be upside down.
There was no iPad
+Bandit Leader Yeah, it was a really big ipod touch
+Random Peculiar Introvert dude maybe the ipad is far away from the background.......
where did the vase come from though?
At 1:39 you can clearly see the flower behind the iPad right underneath his right hand. But otherwise a really cool performance.
Thanks +W1ese1
im norwegian and i have never met or heard of anyone named Trigg
Hello @Archound Penrose. Trigg is an Old Norse name, which is likely why you haven't heard of it. To clarify, "Trigg" is derivative of of the Old Norse surname name, Tryggr or Triggr, meaning “trustworthy, faithful, true”. While Trig and Trigg have been in use since medieval times, the use of "i" instead of "y" is an English modification of the Old Norse name. Hope that helps clear it up. You can read more here - www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Trigg
+TRiGG Magic How dare you bring actual education into an idiotic comment on UA-cam, sir!!
I liked it, of course the vase was a little off timing if you're looking for it (and i was) but it's a great idea
Hey Trigg, cool trick there and very nice stage presentation! Btw after 6:06 is that your shirt falling down, creating a "tummy"? :P
I'm so skinny I have to resort to multiple shirts to build out my physique : )
2:11 Kind of an "Oops" moment there ;)
5:32 he changed his clothes 😂
Don’t get me wrong I love and adore Allyson , but I really miss Jonathan as a host. He was unique and loved his humor…awesome trick my friend btw
I like that big iPhone i want one and someone said they have that angry birds trick.
this trick was so easy to see through.
Was that calin morelli's Dresscode for the angry bird shirt?
did anyone realize his shirt change at the end along with the app change
plus at 5:23 u can see the red at the bottom of the shirt before the change
You pulled out a perfect Apollo Robbins! how da heck do you guys change clothes without anyone noticing
+Atharva Kshirsagar : ) The question is always better than the answer!
+TRiGG Magic its very simple. The shirt is cut in a special way
I enjoyed the presentation. Just gotta work on the timing a little bit more. For example in the appearing vase trick the image on the ipad started moving before you started actually lifting the ipad up
Not 💯 sure but I think this guy was on America talent.
The camera app is a video, the camera's grid doesn't match if it zooms in
Hi +3079daddy, thanks for your comment.
I used to watch a TV program that I think had a relative of yours on it. Does Trigger ring a bell? How about Roy Rogers and Dale Evans?
Do you still perform in Dallas or even Fort Worth? Would like to see a magic show but haven't found one yet
And now an I phone 7 plus is almost vintage ... who knew?
i honestly thought the ipad trick wasn't thought through enough, i couldn't help but look at the size of the back drop and how the ipad can see all of it, like that is one wide af lens if it wasn't actually a recording
Believe it or not, that actually is exactly what the live camera was picking up. This effect is NOT a prerecorded video.
Wow.. spot on with the 7+ prediction. That's the real magic in this act! Hhahahha those dang smart phones are huge now..
Seriously though. I don't think this video is great quality, but the performance is good. Your jokes and dialogue seem a little cheesy for my taste but your performance is very solid. Well done!
What is the piece of music during the vase appearing act?
+Mysidian Bard I wish I knew! It's just royalty free music the production company gave me.
hey i know where to get the small routine of this but where or how did u make/find the jumbo. ps i love magic
+Bradley K I made all the props myself. Best of luck with your magic!
Cool trick, but how (and why) do you ship that huge prop?
Because when TV producers ask you for production value and offer to pay for the shipping...you leap at the chance : )
the camera is on top right on the tablet, but on the vase scene, the camera looks to be in the bottom of the tab. Did he not think of it?
some tablets can flip the screen upside down.
The home button is on the bottom, it's just a mistake he was hoping no one would notice. It feels more 'magical' haveing the flower line up with the flower on the screen. But it gives the trick awaty
