Absolute legend Tony thank you for making these videos, I've lost both charity fights and I feel absolutely brilliant after watching videos that you make! This really helped a lot I needed this today, the fight I lost was last night
Thank you for this tony woke up to a notification of this video I lost my first boxing fight last weekend it’s been tuff since then but this video has helped more then you could imagine glad I subbed to this channel keep making the great content!!
Thanks Tony, I picked up amateur boxing later in life (40) and just lost my first fight a few hours ago. Feel devastated, disappointed in my self, ashamed and ready to quit. Just very low. But I remembered you posted this video a while back so I just watched and it’s really helped me.
Hey Tony could you release that sparring footage you included in the video? With commentary or without. Seems interesting especially coming from an accomplished boxer like yourself.
This is fantastic. Not just for boxing but for every encounter, issue, problem or complication you face in life. Amazing life lessons right here. Thank you mate (I'm not a boxer but love your ethos because it can be used in work life as well).
You win some and you LEARN some. That's what I was always told growing up and learning to box. I remember a time I was getting tipped up , obviously I was outclassed so I heard my pops yell make the fight ugly! I Knew exactly what he meant throw punches in bunches and. Turn it into a brawl. I still lost but I felt I was bringing the fight and I didn't lose badly and it showed heart. The most important part was afterwards I thought about the fight we went over mistakes and habits and made adjustments and learned from it
I often tell law students and young lawyers that boxing prepared me for being an attorney better than law school did. And it's because of things like this. Everyone gets sat down in boxing, especially when you first start out. It's how you deal with that that is going to separate you from everyone else. Do you beat yourself up and decide you're no good? Or do you dust yourself off, take an honest assessment of what you did well and what you did poorly, and build from that? The folks who do the second tend to find success in just about whatever they decide to do.

Coming here after loosing my first fight in a charity last week. I won’t lie I was devastated. I’ve put so much in that training for months, 5 times a week, sacrificing social events, no drinking, coming back home very late… but still it wasn’t enough. I got knocked down first round, managed to woke up and then battle to a draw for the second round, to finally win the third round. I fought my ass off and didn’t quite, but when the referee rose his arm, I wanted to cry. I’m 30 I started boxing a year ago, I got fond of it and I’m probably in the best shape I’ve ever been in my life but suddenly I wanted to quite everything. I’m better now and just wanted to tell all my fellow rookie fighters, I feel you, but boxing revealed something different in us, and I’m sure you love this new side of you too, so just for that I’m gonna keep fighting. Thanks Coach Jeffries for all your videos and advice, it’s priceless 🙏 remember : « Fluctuat Nec Mergitur «

I have lost my first Amateur fight in the ending of 2019, man I felt pretty upset about it, I trained hard for it, I was in better condition and power then my opponement, but just the mental confidence wasn't there when I stepped inside the ring. I switched to a survival mode and focused more on countering then my actually game plan. It was a close match, but because of his iniative, he received more points of the judges. My brother lost his 1st fight but then went on to accumulate a record of 152-8 but I hope that if I lose that it will give me more motivation rather than make me step away from the sport because when he lost it motivated him
This is my favorite channel I love how this man teaches us so much I always use your tips and go use them at the gym and it has really really helped me
My record is 1-5, no shame in admitting it. First fight I was clumsy, second fight I was too aggressive. third fight I switched off, fourth fight I didn’t train hard enough and didn’t care for it and it was my worst performance. fifth fight was a rematch of the second fight and I learnt from my previous fight and won every round. and my sixth fight was a split decision loss to the man who eventually won the whole scottish tournament. I’ve come a long way and with every loss I’ve become much better and realised the problem in each match. Can’t wait to fight again and regardless of whether I win or lose I love the sport and I love learning more from it ❤️🥊
Thanks for all your efforts coach, I've been implementing the content of your videos into my training for months and I finally joined a boxing gym last week🥊 had my first sparring session on my 3rd day in the gym... I had just lost my first 3 fights today and the other day, felt really devastated because I thought I failed and all the boxing and MMA I had been training for was all show and no go but this video really helps motivate me to become a better fighter and realize how to fix my mistakes

Man You are such a Great Mentor...I have seen coaches just talking about the Footwork,Combos and all physical aspects of boxing...But I have barely seen anyone talking about the mental aspect of this Sport. Honestly, Any person Sitting in any part of The World can Learn a lot about boxing just by watching your videos...Keep up the great content man 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🎉🎉
Hey Tony!! Big fan of your channel and your education and to be honest i learned more from you than my coaches. I'd be really grateful if you could do a video on how to roll? 😅 Also just a random question, if you and Canelo were to fight both in prime who would win? 🤔
Im just starting my journey on learning to box. I know that losing a fight is one of the worst things that can happen to a man. It shatters your ego. I'm 19 now and I always wanted to learn how to fight but I never did it because I was very weak and scared of what people would think of me when I keep losing at the start. But I've grown lots this past year and at this point, I don't care anymore. I realized that it doesn't make any sense to not train because you can't box. Thats the point of training. And I'm a very fast learner. I don't have motivation for many things but boxing is something that is on my mind 24/7. I want to train every waking second and I want to become the best boxer of all my friends. I want to have that feeling for the first time. The feeling of being the best. The respect you get from the people around you. And besides the pride, I will learn a lot on the way. Bad habits Level of patience Physical and mental weaknesses Fear Persistence Endurance Willpower Confidence And my attitude towards success, hardship and failure
I lost a fight at school but I got a lot of respect for standing up to that dude because no one likes him lol If he touches me again though I’m knocking him out
I just lost my boxing fight todayI feel ashame I feel like I let my family down I don’t know if I should quit boxing I’ve trained whole 1y for my fights and when coach finally gave me the opportunity I let them down 😞
I lost my first amateur fight was a gift in disguise tho I hadn’t had any sparring about 6 months leading up to the fight got in there done my best I had the lad backed up on the ropes around 3 times in the fight he should’ve got at least one standing 8 count but my timing an fitness was off an i probably lost the last round I didn’t let it ass me tho I moved gym an became a better fighter I didn’t go on to have loads of fights after that due to my old gym messing around with my medical card i had about ten fights overall but even interclub sparring I built up my speed and power an was stopping people in sparring not always the aim btw but felt more confident and was sparring with pros and people who r now in the GB team I stepped away from boxing due to my mental health for a few years however I’ve decided as of the last 2 months to step back into the ring not as an amateur tho just white collar but Ino it will be good for my head give me something to focus on an distill a bit of confidence in myself remember ur only as bad as u tell urself take away positives from losses n keep learning I knew I probably hadn’t won tha fight but I fought off instinct and a lot of people thought I should’ve got the stoppage and there r thousands of robberies in the amateurs it’s very common it’s about enjoying yourself not whether u win or lose
Tony your a great inspiration to me I just had a sparing match on the street I know your against street fights but he refused to fight inside he is a amature fighter with a belt I haven't even competed but he wanted to fight me I horribly lost in under a minute I called off the fight because I was already getting blooded up and I didn't want my mother to see me in a even worse state so I called it off with my lip cut and my nose bleeding I want to be a coach not a fighter but I couldn't say no I was destroyed I don't know how to feel I looked like a fool if I saw someone do what I did id think there horrible after 5 years of training I was humiliated

I lost a boxing match in an event that i don’t mind. But he posted a viral tiktok video and everyone is saying i suck at fighting. I deleted media and im gonna do better next time
i have just lost my first two amateur fights, every day after has been a test of my mental strength. It all just leads to a simple answer, train harder.
One thing i learned in a gym is what happens inside the gym stays inside the gym, sometimes some people will get unlucky and have to deal with legal issues, mental health, accidents and family or drug problems, etc almost like vinny paz after his car accident, it sux for those that go threw stuff like that. i went deep into some of these probles in my life and it stopped me from doing amatuers and trying to go pro. sometimes things happen for a reason and problems gets in the way of your fight life, but deep down my teammates who i really was and they know my true potential and they knew i had issues in my life that i had to take time to make my come back. i went 3-4 years with only light training and just going to a weight lifting gym and one day i wanted to spar so i sparred after a few years of no sparring except with a couple guys and one was elite and i hadnt sparred with any elites in years, i lost that sparring match it was disappointing but i thought about it and told myself i wasnt at my full potential i want dissapointed cause i had been in a long lay off for a few years and second it just motivated me to get back into training, its like you said things happen for a reason and life sometimes sucks and for some it doesnt cause they get lucky to not run into problems and have people take care of them and some people dont have much people in life to help em in certain situations i know when i get in to problems and i end up having to stop training i know that my team will always know my true potential in boxing and they know when im facing problems in my life and thats what keeps me still fighting is the true spirit of trying to fight threw the problems that get in my way and i never let it put me down.
Today I spar with 3 guys 2 of them were taller then me and the first guy he beat the shit out of me I beat the other 2 but I feel like I am not good enough I feel like I will lose again
Marvelous marvin hagler got into boxing because he lost a fight at a party to a boxer. He joined a gym the next day, ended up meeting and beating that boxer from the party, and eventually became world champion. Everyone loses at some point.
I lost one last night bro to someone who is more unfit than me and I felt that I hurt him more as I felt fine after the fight and he didn't but he was still awarded the win by most my mates. I'm rlly struggling to get past it and am not looking forward to school tomorrow

Thank you my fellow boxer and champion Tony Jeffries for this sincere and realistic video upload. I'm a competitive boxer. I have 14 wins and 4 losses, and I hated the feeling of a loss because even winning fights, I trained my behind off. On a good note personally, after my last loss, I won 4 boxing championship belt titles as a Masters Division Boxer. I always thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ first and foremost. You are so right in that we learn the most as boxers and in life when we lose a bout. Thanks for the big tip that you gave at the end of the video with the visualization aspect. That's very helpful and so important. Also, you and Floyd Mayweather are undefeated professional boxers, but Floyd lost bouts as an amateur boxer, and I believe that he won a silver medal as an Olympian. God bless you and thank you, champ.
I love that you make videos like this. I grew up rough and learned to throw hands before i ever took up martial arts as a discipline. I lost fights, i won fights. When we lose, its the worst feeling in the world. But when we win, it puts that confidence right back in us and feels way better than any loss could ever make us feel bad. The big thing is to not let your ego take control and make you obsess over one loss. The most important thing about martial arts is the discipline and positive effects it has on our daily lives. Not how we see ourselves beating up other people. If you focus on whats going to make you better than you are today, and stop focusing on what makes you better than another person. You go so much further. It takes a real person with heart to take their chances, give their all and lose. Much better than the person who never tries, or gives up after a loss or even multiple of them in a row. No matter what happens. Dont give up on what martial arts are actually meant for. Which is not to become a famous fighter on TV. Its to benefit our health, giving us confidence in our self defence and to have discipline in our lives. Like i said, i grew up rough. There was no discipline in my life until i discovered boxing and martial arts. I battled addiction and mental health issues, never finding an answer for the stress that caused me so much trouble. Until i found like minded people who find combat sports therapeutic like i do. Win or lose, youre always a champion if you never give up.
i always tear up after i get whooped in sparring. makes me so angry devoting so much time to this sport just to get outclassed. Always makes me work harder though

Bro really taught me how to box over yt. Legend.
Just lost a championship fight. Broke my nose in two places. I feel worthless. But we live and learn
Don't give up mate
This is my favorite channel I love how this man teaches us so much I always use your tips and go use them at the gym and it has really really helped me
Happy to help Carlos ma man
My record is 1-5, no shame in admitting it. Can’t wait to fight again and regardless of whether I win or lose I love the sport and I love learning more from it ❤️🥊
Thanks for sharing mate, as long as you learn from it 👊
Back in the day fans didn’t make such a big deal about loses, but nowadays there’s this crazy obsession with being undefeated.
100 bouts, 14 losses. Sounds fucking great to me.
Thanks ma man 👊
Thanks for all your efforts coach, I've been implementing the content of your videos into my training for months and I finally joined a boxing gym last week🥊 had my first sparring session on my 3rd day in the gym... I didnt do as well as I had imagined but I'm even hungrier than before to get better
I had just lost my first 3 fights today and the other day, felt really devastated because I thought I failed and all the boxing and MMA I had been training for was all show and no go but this video really helps motivate me to become a better fighter and realize how to fix my mistakes
I lost my second mma fight and it was playing with my brain and i didnt know what to do with it my opponent is in my brain and my anger and heat of revenge isnt ending so it aches my heart and idk what to do
Good stuff. You seem like a genuine sort of bloke, passing on his knowledge to aspiring boxers. Thumbs up from me.
Thanks mate! - You can check all my videos here: ua-cam.com/users/TonyJeffries1videos
Man You are such a Great Mentor...I have seen coaches just talking about the Footwork,Combos and all physical aspects of boxing...But I have barely seen anyone talking about the mental aspect of this Sport.
Honestly, Any person Sitting in any part of The World can Learn a lot about boxing just by watching your videos...Keep up the great content man 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🎉🎉
Losing can be learning, you just need to never give up
Hey Tony!!
Big fan of your channel and your education and to be honest i learned more from you than my coaches.
I'd be really grateful if you could do a video on how to roll? 😅
Also just a random question, if you and Canelo were to fight both in prime who would win? 🤔
I lost my second Boxing fight yesterday, this video really helped
Great advice from a true professional 🥊
Thanks ma man, means a lot
15 years old, I lost my first competitive fight after a skills bout and got my nose bust and was stopped after the first round
Hood american boxers never lost. Goatweather, shakur, broner, Spence, haney, tank and more. West side two five Cincinnati stand up
Im just starting my journey on learning to box.
Bad habits
Level of patience
Physical and mental weaknesses
Fear
Persistence
Endurance
Willpower
Confidence
And my attitude towards success, hardship and failure
I lost a fight at school but I got a lot of respect for standing up to that dude because no one likes him lol
If he touches me again though I’m knocking him out
Thanks for the great advice. I lost in my fight for the first time and I can't move on, even after two years. I feel pain 😔 when I think about it.
How do you become pro? I’m a female boxer is it harder for us?
I just lose a fight and i feel disappointed, weak and ashamed because i cried
I just losing in my first amateur fight im so feel shame I lost in front of my coach and friend
Tony, been watching literally since your first video. Your video quality continues to improve especially in content. You'll be at 1M subscribers in no time :) Love from Sydney, Australia.
Hey Dave, Thanks!! This means a lot and yeah 1m 👊
I lost a boxing match in an event that i don’t mind. But he posted a viral tiktok video and everyone is saying i suck at fighting. I deleted media and im gonna do better next time
The one iv been waiting for i stopped training when i lost but taking my son down the gym is making me want to go back 👍👍
i have just lost my first two amateur fights, every day after has been a test of my mental strength.
I lost one fight in the streets and it effected me alot, I try to get over it but it's too damn hard
Marvelous marvin hagler got into boxing because he lost a fight at a party to a boxer. He joined a gym the next day, ended up meeting and beating that boxer from the party, and eventually became world champion.
Everyone loses at some point.
Must’ve been hard bro hope you overcome it
I lost one last night bro to someone who is more unfit than me and I felt that I hurt him more as I felt fine after the fight and he didn't but he was still awarded the win by most my mates. I'm rlly struggling to get past it and am not looking forward to school tomorrow
@@benfallon3295 don't just fight for approval from your mates... Or others in general. Those that say anything wouldn't fight in front of people anyway

I just losted a fight today, I blamed the fact about the gloves cause I'm not used to them I only use ufc gloves
5:58 Wait for seconds then you will see a kid with a blond hair below Tony Jeffries
Loose a fight don’t matter you was still good to be able to fight some people will never get to a level
how about you mate? did you ever lost to a fight?
@@Tony_Jeffries I’m not at that level yet I’ve only been doing it 3 months but they said I’m good and they want to get me ready for the fights I’m 28 just started lol
Sir I am from India and I need a video on Boxing vs martial arts

Sir I want to become National champion in boxing but on same I am interested in karate so can I learn both things
I lost my first boxing match
I don't give up
Lost my first but it was a great experience. Winning would have been good of course but it made me want to train harder as i now knew what it felt like in there and could plan better for next time
Nice! That's the spirit mate 👊👊
I won yesterday but lost today from a tournament but i did k1 but i train muay thai
You recommended this for street fights??😢
Love the advice!
Glad you like it ma man 👊
Thank you so much I’m 11 and I also lost my first boxing match but I didn’t give up and I improved
I just lost my first fight after winning 8 bouts, it hurt damn
Pretty sure mayweather even had a loss when he was fighting as an Amateur
I lost my first boxing match yesterday at a charity event. It was amazing experience and im proud that I managed to overcome the fear and the anxiety to actually step put there. But I'm also devastated, I got in the best shape of my life and gave everything I could, watching virtually all of Tony's videos to help learn and get better at boxing. All of your videos helped me so much and this one especially today. Thank you so much 👊🏾
Pssh. Im 300-0. My heavy bag hits like a bitch.
throw a molotov cocktail through their bedroom window.
Here i am unmotivated, after 3 loses straight, thinking about quiting i haven't been in the gym for a week, i don't know if boxing is really for me in 6 amateur fights i only have won once.
That's alright mate, think about how you started boxing. Hope you get back mate.. keep your head up 👊🏻
i totally agree with you coach. Its great that spoke on this topic. i have an amateur record of 10-5 and i have been demotivated after each loss, i almost gave up. although i noticed that i have become a better boxer after losing and it would be fair to say that i would not be where iam right now without those L's. My dream is to win a National gold this year, follow me on Instagram- Pratham.j7 if you're interested in seeing my journey. I swear im up next, grinding each day in the off season. Cheers to all the hardworkers out there, it will pay off. just believe
How is it going?
Had a match today. Couldnt go worse, they stopped the match the first round because I held up my hands all the time without punching when he was just punching all the time🤒😭😭
Sorry to hear mate… u gotta stick with it
Again..ur family must be proud of u..u r just giving people courage to deal wth problems..thnks big hearted man..keep going on💪💪💪

That is right mate watch your mistakes, I love doing that for my fights too
