It also makes mention of a "tri-stacked" cartridge configuration in regards to the magazine. However, upon inspection of the default 30 round mag (and by extension, 60 round mag), that doesn't seem to be the case. Furthermore, I don't think the design of the magazine can support this triple column stacking feature.
Next season will be more like WW2 focused. According to leaks we'll get STG44 and Kar98k. And SPAS-12 with akimbo attachment to spice it up. (I know it's not related to WW2)
i know they had planned to make an official sequel to it, but Activision forced them to make WWII. so it wouldn't surprise me if they still have some leftover assets from that.
They actually wanted to make an Advanced warfare in conditions and with an actual development cycle (they also more or less rioted or atleast complained, not wanting to make another 'support game') but in the end being forced back into working into a support game. They kinda wanna do an AW2 in 2027 but nobody really knows what's gonna be. Feels like they wanna be creative or bring stuff from the past but they get ball slapped so this is the best they can do / the most freedom they get.
I dont think Sledgehammer knows what the fuck they want to do: Anvanced Warfare, added a bunch of WW2 guns: "oh they want to make a WW2 game." WW2 & Vanguard, adds anachronistic and future guns: "oh they want to make a modern game." MW3, add a bunch of futuristic guns (and leaked WW2 guns): "oh they wanna make a future game?" If they make a future game again they'll probably add a bunch of modern or civil war guns at this point.
Idrc that the aw weapons are in mw3, in reality these guns are just prototypes for their aw versions? Gotta start somewhere right? And they are both very plausible. The MORS is just a railgun in a smaller form factor. The only innacuracy as far as I can tell is the electricity effects. Most railguns just have a much larger muzzle flash effect more akin to an explosion. And for the BAL, it could very well be made today. It uses a similar layout as a P90, and those flaps are very easy to make. Now as for the gold chip interface on the mag, I assume it could be a pressure sensor that can calculate how many bullets are left. But honestly they can fit very well given this knowledge. Maybe the Bal more than the mors but my point still stands.
It's funny, they'll go through the effort of making a fictional weapon appear functional, but the week before the aftermarket part got rid of the buffer tube on the M4 ☠️
I know people in the comments section will hate me. But these AW weapons and seeing them in this game has been really cool to me even if they conceptually doesn’t add up. Makes me with SH would be given the chance to make AW2
One thing that you have to consider is that it’s logistically impossible by todays standards, a gun in the future may not adhere to the same technology as the ones we have now and the devs never stated how the gun functions. We sometimes forget how little time it takes to make the impossible possible, like Smartphones have only been around for slightly more than a decade or two which no one in the future would’ve predicted.
Smartphones are new inventions that used technology that was not in existence yet. It also added features that did not exist at the time. The BAL-27 is not the case. It is just a P90 but worse in every way. The magazine feeding system has a moving part that is unnecessary, it is larger than needed, and holds less ammunition than the P90. It also looks much more expensive to produce, judging by how shiny it is (metal) and all the cavities (more CNC needed). There is no reason that the BAL-27 should exist. It is just a gun designed to look cool (which it does) for a future setting, which it fills that role splendidly. However, it is not a practical gun.
@@dangle9756 Yeah that’s kind of what I’m saying, the redesign in MWIII feels like an attempt of grounding the design, only for it to turn out far worse than if it wasn’t left vague.

@@Wolverine1992-z5m fair, but remember that the Bal has the atlas logo, so what I believe is that in this universe, atlas was made wayy sooner than what it was in AW
so i guess timeline wise. its 2024. AW is late 2040's- 2060's. make sense to use of a cartridge that matches the fire rate from AW. And The BAL Will Be Released In 2027, so for now whoever at atlas "sledge dev" Is Still Shooting Ideas For The Cartridge. cant have too many guns in 5.56x45 NATO.
I think bringing back this gun is cool, but making it 5.7x28 doesnt make much sense. First in its defese, being 5.7 doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be an SMG. However, making it 5.7 with a 30 round mag makes it a lower capacity, shorter barrel P90 with higher recoil and more expensive construction. It would be better for it to be either 5.56, or even better, a proprietary or caseless cartridge.
I swear to god if another sci fi game has guns with backwards p90 mags Imma lose it. With the smart guns in Cyberpunk alright, I can excuse it. I don't visually care for it, but the smart guns don't need long barrels anyways so I can deal with it. But this? This is unbullpuped for no reason and doesn't even have the excuse it fires homing rounds. I am so scared of this becoming a trend.
They should have just made up a cartridge called it .220 Atlas or something and it could literally just be straight walled 5.56 which would actually feed through that magazine and not just make this a worse P90
couple things, shouldn't the feeding mechanism for the magazines be closer to the stock because it would increase the barrel length so it is actually a bullpup, and also if it is a gun from the future why don't they just make up an ammo or use a really powerful contemporary round to justify the mag size instead making it into a "p90 but without everything that makes the p90 what it is"
I'm pretty sure they chose to chamber it with 5.7 instead of 5.56 because the model used in AW was too thin to accommodate the size of 5.56 rounds in the magazine. Since the devs wanted to keep the same overall shape of the weapon without messing with its dimensions too much, they used 5.7 as it's short enough to fit inside of the magazines the BAL uses. Besides, both 5.7 and 5.56 are the same diameter anyways, so it's technically correct even retroactively for the AW BAL to actually have been 5.7 this entire time.
I like the bal I think it great sledgehammer is adding back their own guns since they don’t have to worry about licensing as well we don’t just a gun we already have but chambered in a different cartridge like the ram
If BAL27 is an unbullpup P90 , that means P90 is technically a better option with longer barrel length and compact size . But reloading the BAL27 kinda seems easier since the mag release is located at the top right of the trigger (idk I never reloaded a real P90 before or any "toy" replicas)
Its kinda ironic how IW puts alot of care into their weapons and then sledgehammer comes along and its like "wtf is this? ". You fucked up the fn evolys and a non functioning f2000. Now we get a ar chambered in 5.7?
Something worth noting is that 5.7X28 is technically an intermediate cartridge which was developed specifically for the P90 which is a weapon made to fill a similar role to an SMG but with better range hence the use of a new cartridge over something like 9mm or 45acp, its an all around cartridge
Isn't it still bullpup? There is "ventilation" looking piece on a side, between trigger and "magwell", right under rear sight. I think this is a place where hammergroup is, still behind trigger
I think the way the regular mag and the extended mags works is like, 30 round standard is double stack, but the extended is a quad stack. That sounds cracked af
