Yeah they based their game off of potential tech that is already conceptualised compared to BO3 and Infinite Warfare which both went in more sci-fi directions with their games
Between weapons similar to the Stormender being actually used IRL and operators using drones like it's everyone business, a railgun based on the experimental technology from today does not seen that far fetched. Unlike Vanguard EM2, this feels far more grounded, more of a prototype trial of the gun before Advance Warfare makes them mass produced.

From the outside looking in this is honestly a pretty good change for Modern Warfare as it stands, 6 games, 2 reboots in, especially if Infinity Ward wants to develop more in this universe going forward. Conflicts like the Russo-Ukrainian War and a potential outbreak of armed conflict in and around Taiwan are more indicative of modern combat stratagem than the War on Terror ever has been, and it’s pretty obvious that game devs from DICE to Sledgehammer have been taking notes.
Considering MW is now connected to BO and AW timeline, it makes sense that the technology has slowly become more futuristic overtime. Not saying we should get laser guns and such mind you.

In my opinion, cod is just a remnant of the 7th gen, 2006-2013 era of glorificated military games. Cod had to change a lot post-2013 due to the rising popularity of goofy+wacky stuff and the dead of the "oorah military" games, and cod is really trying to pander to the fortnite croud with those goofy ahh skins.
The desolate ambience reminds me of Dying Light in a way. Would’ve been cool to have animations like these in those games. :3 Also the first gun reminds me of the Ashura from Cyberpunk.

FJX HORUS / B&T MP9-N (9x19mm Parabellum)
It seems that FJX HORUS uses BAS-P Inspect animation (MPX)
They use similar procedures but the MP9’s inspect is not taken from the BAS-P from what I can tell.
