I was just the right age when he formed 2 Cool with Scott Taylor and loved those guys. I hated HBK. I was a Bret Hart/Brian Pillman/Stone Cold guy. The difference between Brian Lawler and Michael Hickenbottom was that old HBK was just an arrogant prick who was athletic but overall wasn't as believable or as good as he thought he was and got himself injured with his silliness. In fairness, both of them got into the drugs, and unfortunately, one of them "found God" (which is probably worse) and the other passed away. We lost Brian Pillman and Brian Lawler, but somehow, Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels, 2 guys not known for wrestling clean, are still with us - one them is even inspiring the next generation. I wish there were more Bret Hart-inspired young wrestlers like Brian Pillman Jr (who was trained by Lance Storm) and FTR than these circus freaks like Kenny Omega and the Bucks. It's like watching ECW and WCW in 2000. Bad gimmicks and dumb storylines with guys actually hurting each other for real without any kind of storytelling. The best angles I ever saw were Brian Pillman Sr becoming The Loose Cannon and Bret Hart turning heel in America by telling the truth about Americans in order to get Stone Cold way over as a main event talent.
