I appreciate your confusion about the pads. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused on where they go. For me the best feature of this helmet is the room in the front. I can access my face if I need and see more around me. The second best part is how well you can hear with it on. For e-riding being able to hear and see everything around me is so important.
Nice video! I have the Bell 3R with MIPS helmet and it is a full face helmet for only $150 USD. The chin guard is removable too. This Predator is too steep a price but it does look great.
I've been on the search for a good full face helmet for so long! Sizing and weight has always been issues for me. This video helped so much! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Your helpful review influenced me to go ahead and get the DH6-Xg over the TSG Pass. Thanks! Just thought I’d share that once I noticed the velcro dots were double sided with no adhesive, I realized the felt side of the pads were most likely meant to be affixed directly against felt areas of the lining with the dots and adjusted accordingly- no removal of lining necessary. Though pricey, it’s an aerodynamic, lightweight helmet, for sure. Something this premium-feeling really could have come with a simple diagram in the instructions that would definitely have saved us that additional bit of faff.
I just (5 minutes ago) purchased the DH6-Xg also. I was thinking about purchasing the tsg pass to use with my euc but i read some comments that it fogs up sometimes. Has the DH6-Xg fogged up on you?
Doesn't seem like it has MIPS protection / certification right? Would like that at this price. I've seen full face mips helmets at close to 1/4 this price that arguably might protect your brain better. Oh, and at the same weight.
I have an ebike, how does a full face downhill skateboard helmet such as the predator hompare to a full face downhill mountain bike helmet? Will the predator be comfortable in the winter and summer? I live in Canada and winters are very cold and summers are very hot.
Thanks for the review! I may need to look into this before picking up a TSG Pass. I already have a couple full-face but want a sleeker looking one from time to time. You will want that visor when you are going above 25mph and don't want an insect embedded in your eye. GO GIANTS!
Seems like the TSG Pass is sold out everywhere. One retailer told me it was backordered until Oct. 10th. Expecting my wheel soon and I need a helmet asap.
I’m looking at the tsg pass as well and found this video. Not sure why this helmet is $100+ more. The tsg seems more solid to me but I haven’t seen either in person.
Just received this helmet and I was wondering.. did you just remove all the headliner to put the pads in, or keep the headliner?.. It is a super looking helmet.. I actually got myself a raven motocross helmet which is cool and looks amazing.. but the padding is a little.. ... .. makes my face look like the marshmellow man from Ghostbusters...
There doesn't seem to be any slimmer helmet on the market that I have found, and it does look amazing (DH6 series). But so expensive. You can get front-flip fully safety standard compliant Motor bike helmets (with separately retractable sun shade inner visors for about 60 or 70 (UK pounds), some of which look pretty decent (by which I mean not ENTIRELY like a budget stormtrooper from the future), and although not as slim as these, aren't too bulky. I am trying the 3Go E335 at the moment with the Begode Master, which does require something 'extra' in the head protect department. I am in the process of finding out if '70 quid extra' is fine, or if it really does need 7 times more cash input for a nice safe EUC ride without looking like a space hopper on a bean pole !
I'm using the Icon Airflight. Half the price of the Predator... And added custom visor that'll scare the soccer moms, with a matching spoiler. Great visibility, plus drop down sun visor inside 😎
@@pelotontherapyy I haven’t noticed yet,it’s winter time so I haven’t been doing any riding in the cold, but I’ll keep you posted if I have any issues with it fogging up.
Anyone know how this one fit people with bigger heads? It looks great, but do not feel safe ordering it without hearing how it fit, I usually need size 64 in helmets, will the smaller pads for this helmet do, or is this helmet simply not made to fit my conehead? Any input? I am looking at the Predator DH6-Xg or the TSG Pass, but both of them show their size to be below 60, so I do not feel sure they will fit me... Appreciate any input on the size... Also, wondering if it is possible to wear earbuds while wearing this helmet, or if it is tight over the ears...
Just use a mountain bike helmet for a quarter of the price. Visor is nice on that but I ride with goggles usually to switch out lenses depending on the clarity of the day
One size fits all? Well ok, now what size is your head so i can determine how the fit …fits. I prefer not buying oversized and looking bobbleheaded with my needleneck
I just got a proper motorcycle helmet (exo 920) and am really happy with it. Sure, it's bulky but I like speed and this will protect me from crashes, the elements, has built-in sunglasses and fits a motorcycle as well if I get into that hobby. :)
@@vik5592 yeah, i saw a video about an euc rider named Anthony who went out on his euc on livestream without any protection and slammed his face into asphalt after failing to see a speedbump. The question is how much would those fancy visors hold up to a hit even at 20kmh to the chin. 😬
@@whatsupbudbud "This is tested in a specialized instrument where the helmet is dropped at a speed of 5,42 m/s onto a solid metal anvil with a metal head inside." 5.43m/s is equal to 19.548 km/hr. For almost 600CAD, I would rather get an Arai instead. The thing is for EUC or E Scoots, you wouldn't be going for more than 2 hours at once. So the weight is actually manageable. I just don't think it is worth getting this or the TSG when u can get a motorcycle-grade helmet around 300CAD (like your Scorpion).
God damn when I saw the price I decided to check how much downhill full face helmets cost and suddenly felt a lot better about having spent $70 on a regular motorcycle helmet. It's like $250+ for a adult sized full face helmet. Not even sure if they've got mips. I know everyone jn the euc community vouches for them over motorcycle helmets but I don't think the extra weight is all that bothersome.
Damm, this helmet review video was just too dammed good not to sub to the Entire channel. 😁 I would look so much cooler on my Nikola EUC with this bad boy on. I think I just might get this helmet because you said to. You're good. 😏
I felt this was dumb at first but you know what, people riding these should be wearing full face helmets, way too dangerous with a normal one if you’re inexperienced. Also most stores, in the US at least, let you go in with motorcycle or full face helmets, I always do.
I appreciate the helmet wearing warning, but you really should be wearing other stuff besides just a helmet and t-shirt lol, basic knee/shin and wrist guard protection as a minimum too! Especially while sharing the road with traffic and large heavy vehicles!
Thats a pretty expensive helmet promoted by a guy who doesn't wear any other protective gear and says no specs about the helmet. You really did NOT sell it to me
Getting a motorcycle helmet for “deathy” ebikes/escates/escooters is not like “wearing a scuba suit in a swimming pool” Most normal bicycle helmets are only designed to withstand impacts at around 20mph MAX. If you’re going above that. You’re essentially reaching moped speeds and wearing something rated for impacts at higher speeds is totally appropriate. Speaking from experience as someone who’s ridden and owned pevs for a while and has hit the ground at 30ish mph the cushioning and shock absorption that comes with a motorcycle helmet is worth it. Get yourself a DOT, or even better an ECE, rated helmet. There are no half measures when it comes to safety for your skull. The fact that this is designed for EBikes, and electric skateboards is probably a way of selling a helmet like this without requiring DOT rating which is EXTREMELY sketchy in my opinion. I’ve heard of people using this helmet, and the TSG version, hitting the ground at sub 20mph speeds and loosing consciousness. Which means this only offers skid protection and does not offer adequate impact protection.
Anybody going 40 miles an hour or faster on a sub hundred pound electric unicycle is risking their life not just their brain doesn't matter what kind of helmet you're wearing you could die at those speeds not to mention the fact that the helmet is lightweight and presumably breathable meaning you're actually going to wear it when a motorcycle rated helmet is going to be in your hand and you'll be at slow speeds hit a teeny tiny little pothole and then smoke your head on the curb well you would otherwise be wearing a helmet like this so in my opinion these are safer for the simple fact that I would actually wear it and I imagine the same thing is true for a lot of people not to mention like he said it's kind of like bringing scuba gear to the local swimming pool
It's so overpriced ... less certification and less safety. Not mips no fidlock etc ... the tech in this helmet is just sad. Only thing going for it is lightness and smaller profile helmet.

Onewheel XR rider here. I rock the full helmet. ILM Full Face Street Helmet (Black Matte). Purchased through Amazon. Got my monies worth out of it.
How thick is the thinnest padding? Thicker padding gives better protection against concussions, so one size might not be good idea.
Even the thinnest pads provide a good bit of cushioning
Can you wear them just for normal skating? I just hate the look of the half ones.

Nice but not enough air vents for me, especially for the summer, for the winter you won't want a mirrored visor because of less light in the day.
