I especially love NOT hearing his songs used as backdrop for BigPharma or any other commercials. Ruined so much music...the Who!what were they thinking?One of their terrific pieces...reduced now... to many!!who dont know better... as just the opening for a stoopid show like NCIS or whatever it is...Selling out!when they really didnt need to or have to, all for filthy lucre. Neil keeps it where it should be, pure and NOT commercialized. Think!of the extra dosh he could have made!Its a freakin fortune. But he never went there.
@@barbfraser7194 I agree that I hate hearing classic rock songs to commercials ... cheapens them. Also, Neil's recent songs / efforts have been pretty dismal focusing almost on his "Save the Earth" mantra. Just grows very weary. I quite enjoyed "Peace Trail", but the other recent entries with POTR have been tosh.
@@msa4998 Neil feels a duty. I applaud him. Although I do understand what you are saying, I understand his disgust with how we treat the earth. I don’t know how he continues to fight every day. It’s an exhausting fight that never ends! He is a hero!!!

There is just something about Neil Young's earlier songs. There is nothing like them, it is wonderful to have these new "old " songs. How deep does it go? Amazing songwriter and musician.
Pretty deep. I remember seeing somewhere that after his Archival Volume 1 (1963-1972) and Volume 2 (1972-1976), he will release Volume 3 (possibly 1976-1990) which will include a lot of unreleased stuff from scrapped albums, some concerts, etc.

In the meantime has released nothing but dire and mediocre material in recent years.

Nobody comes close to Neil in terms of his lyrics, melodies and the sheer beauty of his music. We are all blessed to live in a time when we can hear him.

I met Neil twice inna day, at the old Uptown Theatre in Toronto where he was presenting the "Greendale" movie at the Film Festival. Yep, 2 times inna day I learned the truth of the words, "sometimes it's better NOT to meet yer heroes..." Not a particularly friendly feller, Neil... but I don't require KINDNESS or DECENCY of my cultural heroes...🦃🇨🇦⚡🎸🦃

What an Incredible piece of work.. It's now been nearly Fifty Years since it was recorded and it has more Power than Anything that you will find out there Today.. Neil's early recordings Take Chances that No One Else had the Emotion, or the Clarity, to write or record.. It's truly Amazing that a song of this caliber could remain unreleased, either at the time, or for All these years.. Neil's work makes you think, and feel, emotions that you hadn't felt from Any Other Artist.. It's just beyond Incredible... Lary

Up on the hill between Devil's Elbow and Wutai Shan Garden & Buddhist Temple, while the birds are singing free in the warm winter's sun. Cars on Ski Hill Road heading up to Omemee or down to Bethany. Some one and some one were down by the pond. The man's lyrics make a mind wonder. Even to this day. Got the harvest album in 1972. Wore a few out since.
@@jamesmancil7566 - Good point you make. Harvest still is one of my favorite albums by Neil. I mean, damn, the songwriting he did on those songs are astounding. The feel if the music , chords he used, and emotion in the tunes are epic. He was definitely at the top of his game on that album.

CSNY is a very important step in my Music's experiences, particularly Neil Young I was introduced to around 1974 when I was a teenager in the Latin Quarter of Paris, Rue Saint André des Arts, in my College a group of high classes students created a discotheque to discover the flourishing Anglo-Saxon musical creations of that period. It was a wonderful underground space with a pick up and vynil Lps where we spent free time listening in a meditating way the monuments of those times : Genesis, David Bowie, Roxy Music, Neil Young... This meditative ambiant was as a Temple, it was perfectly suiting with my personality, I remember it was a trip without alcohol or drug, the Music was such a powerful vehicle to superior spheres, nothing in plus was needed : I had the extraordinary sort to experiment this very special peace, oftenly passing time alone in there, pauses during my studying with incredible guys, melómanos as much as I was, older young men who have never disrespected me, not even in innuendo. Only the Music in sharing which caused this one-sided peace.
Neil Young, you have to know now this side of the situation so I let you know now that what you genuinely offered to the ears which see is a powerful healing for Heart and Soul. 🌌🌠🕊️🙏🏻💿🎶🎼🎵💮💗
