I saw a comment on another video, and they recommended lethal tempo as the name for the fighting game and i gotta say that hits, and really well. for a fighting game its lethal, and high tempo. it just fits and its league related as well.
As cool as it sounds the issue will be searching for the game and getting league builds. Imagine wanting to learn Jinx in 2XKO and searching Lethal Tempo Jinx
@@liam2v44 there would prob be another keyword you'd want to add in that case, I don't think it would be too much of an issue. This word could be anything related to the combos available in project L; I'm sure nicknames for techniques or matchups will exist once the game releases.

“Lethal Tempo Jinx fighting game” or tbh just putting “combos” will show Project L as priority since combos are more important in fighting games

that's a great name and all but imagine trying to look up "Lethal Tempo Yasuo" for example and getting nothing but videos or guides about Yasuo with the rune on LoL. it'd be a search engine nightmare

They should've called it Lethal Tempo. Not only is it a direct reference to a rune currently in-game, but it would make a gnarly-a-f fighting game title.
Looking up "lethal tempo jinx guide/combos" would instantly find waaay more league related stuff than the fighting game purely because league will always be immensely more popular then the fighting game. So it wouldnt have worked. naming stuff is hard, but yes the name they came up with is absolute garbanzo.

Although i agree, you gotta think about this; imagine looking up how to play a certain character on youtube/google etc. and searching "yasuo double kill combos/guide". all of riots games needs to have an entirely different name so even if crossovers exists between universes/games they cant get confused with one another. But yes, 2XKO is an awful name.

I can't believe he unironically said "the team worked hard to pick this name". This is a surreal statement. Not only is that not hard work but also a whole ass TEAM of people was so creatively bankrupt that the best they could come up with is worse than the temporary company project name they had.
Double kill is unsearchable. Beyond creativity a name needs that as well after all, ESPECIALLY if it has characters from other games like illaoi, ahri, yasuo, etc. Searching "double kill ahri" would not give you guides or info about ahri in the fighting game, it'll give you youtube clips of ahri in league getting a double kill. This is why straightforward names like lethal tempo or double kill dont work regardless of if it fits the game itself. Hence why its a more interesting challenge then 99% of people seem to understand. Even if you dont like 2XKO as a name, it does accomplish other goals for a name (stands-out, searchability, etc).

Riot would try to justify this bullshit by saying it's oppressive in lane. brother you're about to unleash unlimited healing nasus/olaf triple, stun braum, triple armor crush jarv, gigga heal maokai/attrox, triple bleed darius/briar. at this point of the game picks what's broken and just fucking swing.

I've tested it on the pbe and most of the stuff doesnt work like maokai darius briar and so on. also the item is terrible for 90% of of these champs stat wise, why would your braum ever buy this. also the range is insanly small for ranged champs looks like around 200 range which is very small. my favourite one was tahm kench getting stacks on 3 people and proccing heartsteel on the all of them

Funny how riot just adjust the camera a little, however on a platform that is technically less powerful, they have a game that's immensely better visually, and can mirror the sides so "you are always on the blue side".
Per-side offset is so clutch for visibility, but playing Blue Side will always be superior since the UI is mainly on the bottom, and it covers up enough to affect gameplay.

Riot changing Runaan's for no reason whatsoever, not so much. I don't understand why ranged champions can't have more exclusive and cool items like Runaan's and instead make it so melee's get to abuse an item that was never intended for them...
Honestly, your idea of shortening 2XKO as "Double Kill" is kinda genius and also keeping in line with their initial idea of the name referencing the 2v2 nature of the game.

i have no problem that they bring runaans to melees, what i have a problem with is that caitlyn's synergy with the item got removed years ago and they seem to not bring it back...

For the 1v5 it's the concept of IReaz the streamer who spectate where he call challenger player and put them against 5 Bronze/Silver/Gold and some two Chall vs higher rank he made other and it's on his channel.

As a fighting game player who has been beyond excited for Project L, even playing it at EVO last year. 2XKO is the worst name of any modern fighting game and I was not expecting a blunder like this from Riot.

An engineer's placeholder name for a random component or a random word in the dictionary has more potential than "2XKO"
Runaans used to be exclusively ranged and tiamat items exclusively melee.
Riot made tiamat items viable for ranged. Ended up gutting the passives in half for ranged users.
Now it's time for runaans. Who knows what will happen. I'm assuming they will make it something similar along the lines of how effective the passives will be. Would be funny if they made melee users only fire 1 extra projectile instead of 2.
Damn another juggernaught patch in disguise that braum paired with any melee champ that benefits on AA's and on hits gonna be a headache in team fights. Genuine question tho can it proc nasus stacks if it kills? Darius passive?

I think the name is mostly fine, I would just reduce it to a 3 syllable phrase. The KO works with the fighting game concept and a little time and people will be used 2xKO. Does make me think of the 2k games though
