Hello fellow #AvGeeks, you asked and we listened! Unfortunately the #AustraliaDay #F35A fly over was filmed on a helicopter enclosed in a special mount which doesn't have the ability to record sound.
However, we've tracked down the original footage of the F/A-18A/B Hornet's final flight last December - so turn up your speakers to the max and revel in it! Watch and listen to it here! ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/8GzHTu35J2U/v-deo.html
It would be better with just the sound of the jets which is awesome. The music spoiled the occasion.
I imagine the sound quality would be pretty bad off what they are filming from if the drone even has a mic but i get what ya mean
Oh how I would love to have a fly in one of those ,but at 74 and a woman they might not,my dad was a airman in the last war he flew cargo and deliverd the spitfires ,which ment he also got shot down 3 times 2 in cargo one in a spitfire being unarmed, by a German plane out hunting for such, he said they were pigons being unable to defend themselves, he used to tell me all about his love for the spitfires planes especially.I love the plane also seen one fly over going to a air show.,nearly cried I could see my dad in its cockpit in my mind.HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY.
Happy Australia Day from the U.K.
Thanks mate 🙂🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲👍

Epic! Would have loved to hear its thunder.
God bless Australia 🇦🇺

Cannot wait for them to come to Amberley
We need the Pigs to come back!

We were lucky enough to be on the bridge climb right at the top when the jets flew over. It was amazing!!! Great day!

Will be once they change the date
@@stevesavage4247 ok
@ I believe showing the tiny amount of respect it takes to change the date will help the people who are offended by it, so why not? A change of date and a change of heart
@Terry Tugger do u feel that the aboriginal people were wronged?
@Terry Tugger oh lord
The whole family were pumped to see these new birds.
Would have loved a lot more time over the harbour. Get Scomo to lift the fuel budget!
So proud to be an Aussie and what a great society we have built.
Makes me proud!
I really wish we had an aircraft carrier in Australia , I would love to see these bad boys taking off a flight deck with the harbour bridge in the back ground
Have a look at HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Canberra. They are just not letting on about joint RAAF & RAN training. Those ships are huge, mych bigger than Melbourne ever was
@@johnkern1878 Talks have taken place considering the upgrade of both ships to facilitate it. Very expensive.
Fly baby ... fly high & proud 4 us🇦🇺
For our safety and security we need more F35s and military hardware in general. Let's hope they never have to be used in anger.
Why did you have to put music to it and not the engine thrust sound's
sound is?
@@dunruden9720 Exactly!
😂🤣
I will be out on the harbour myself seeing these sight next year myself that was a wonderful video
happy Australia day
Very special, but why is there people who dislike? Be proud and be humble
proud of the most corrupt military purchase? please show me ADF tender for this jet and other competitors

@14ALL41OK heard of WW3? No because it all comes down to defence and deterrent
I was at Luna Park Sydney when they were doing the fighter jets! There was this blue and white helicopter with a big camera on the bottom swerving around the Harbour Bridge. I was inside Coney Island when the jets went pass, so I could not see them. But I could very well hear it! There was this big BOOM! And Coney Island started to shake like crazy. And it was even more scary because I was at the top of the building! I had no idea what it was until the staff told me. And I dashed outside as fast as I could! But those jets are so fast, that it was all done! So, it was a very interesting day. Not just because it was the final day of Luna Park Sydney before they shut for renovations!
I saw these at Manly Beach
Wow! We used BOTH our planes!
You must be popular with the children.
🇭🇲💪🏽
Haha classic these machines ain't like us craft they are 2nd rate
Wow!!!!
FYI - Those jets are flying just 1.5m apart
Oh c'mon! Somebody in the DOD needs educating. Honestly, do they not realise that the sound of the flyby is awesome and a spectacle in itself? But no, lets have zero jet noise and a dramatic soundtrack instead.
All the drama required was there....no need for the music.
If the footage was shot from a helicopter all you would hear is the sound of the helicopter anyway
200 million and not even as good as the raptor
Wow DOD ? Really ! I think ya got the wrong country oh and btw the Raptor as the other guy calls it are two completely different weapon platforms which are capable of different rolls , look it up and you’ll soon figure out why we bought the F35 over the F22
@@oldfaithfuliii5997 Australia has a Department of Defense.
@@oldfaithfuliii5997 f22 we wernt allowed to buy as the technology is far better and secret
A radio station in Sydney broadcast a Jumbo was going to go under the bridge ,turns out it was an elephant on a barge
I remember the days when they flexed there muscle with the F111s then the F18 now look at them , wow so sexy yet so so deadly ( very similar to my wife )
" wow so sexy yet so so deadly ( very similar to my wife )" 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There muscle? Not here muscle?
Was at Opera Bar having a lovely pint on that hot ass day when these 2 beauts flew by. Only criticism I can give is that they didn't fly around for longer :P haha
Would rather have heard the engines than the govt promo music. Pity they didn't fly under the bridge like the Lancaster did in 1943.
Wish I’d been there
Been ages since I’ve seen any plane close up lol
Thank God the planes didn't malfunction. How much service life we got left after that flight, 30 minutes?
@@noelrossbridge2514 I think a space program would be better
@@djinghiskhan9199
We sorta already have a space program. Most U.S military facilities here are NASA. We handle sth hemisphere side of their space program. (as well as everything else in their war toy inventory)
Wow that was Great, What was it🤔?
70 years of reverse engineering alien technology from roswell gets us this at least publicly
I hope we never have to find out if they're worth the money!
Yes "River too deep & mountain too high". My father trained in the army with broom sticks in WWII because there weren't enough guns to go around while at the same time Darwin was being bombed & many killed, in Sydney ships were sunk & lives lost. Newcastle was shelled by submarines & many ships were sunk all around our Coasts in OZ. Only the blind of heart or those who don;t want to see will ignore these historical facts. Australian at that time were scared because we were next for armed invasion by Japan. the yanks came to our aid & saved our bacon. Otherwise you'd be using the call sign "
"river of blood mountain of bones."
Very poor editing.
It came over as the same shot replayed 5 times over to music :/
Next year can you please fly more, say 4-6
COVID is hitting the US factories of Lockheed Martin pretty hard. 2019 they put out 140 planes but hopes on beating that are a struggle. Australia is also a relatively small buyer so they might only be able to give us a few - if that.
We can see the aircraft but apparently, the sound is top secret!!! Unbelievable 😞
Mate, it sounded menacing. I was at Opera Bar that day.
Kamin8r, I saw the first one perform at Avalon Airshow in 2019. I know how wonderful they sound!! That’s why I’m so disappointed to get music on the video.
@@warren4110 Yeah I'm kinda disappointed too. I wish they flew around the harbour more. Was sipping on a beer and next thing you know they come roaring past, didn't get to record it but it's in my memories now haha
I'm glad that as an Australian taxpayer that I own probably a rivet or two on the F35's.
why didnt they fly under the bridge ?
Anyone know what music this is?
A pity that we have yet to see them in Western Australia. I wonder if we ever will; not a complaint just a question.
So expensive to fly per hour, the RAAF could only afford two for the fly over ....
Background music ruined it
glad to see the heat didnt stop them
For goodness sake just show the planes.
F-kin f-k yeh!
lets see some real low level flying guys with these birds... next time.... then it will be impressive....
Thats it....thats all we can afford.
FFS we have over 30 and 72 ordered...
i can hear someone's saying "but aren't they stealth planes? so how can we still see them??"
Fortunately, Trump has moved on!
F-35 doesn't have a Romulan cloaking device.
No sound???😡
Tax money well spent
Yay, let's celebrate Australia Day by flying two multi million dollar killing machines around the harbour and waste $25k in taxpayer funded jet fuel. 😂
but it was cool tho right?
Probably took off from Newcastle
Absolutely 100 percent certainty.
@@daviddou1408 That would be 2 days after the Australia Day fly past, and also the wrong city. No, they came from YWLM.
So, these planes belonged to NSW? I was wondering where my tax payer funded planes belong? Courtesy of the Federal Gov-Mint!
Overpriced and under whelmingly ordinary for a cost of 118 million each, this is the price of being the deputy sheriff to the US and buying in to their military industrial complex, I thought we would have learnt after the F111 fuck up and then the Seasprite helicopter stupidity that cost 1.8 billion for a chopper that was never delivered because we over specified the equipment these refurbished airframes were to carry. We are such fools when it comes to military procurement, it’s all about shiny shiny and can it do 3 things badly instead of one thing we’ll.
Australia's entire air force flown by a couple of bush pilots
What is with the stupid music
So the NSW government did that for what?
The Aboriginal flag should be up on the Bridge always.
It's copyright, so no
no. They did not build the bridge, union flag should
@@daviddou1408 cfmeu mate
How much CO2 do they emit?
Not as much as you do with all your inane ramblings and sad attempts at trolling :)
Don't worry mate, plenty of solar on roofs here in Australia to offset a bit of flying on Australia Day.
About 40kg per hour, if that means anything
They don’t emit CO2 they emit Straya’
Djinghis Khan less than you, probably per breath.
Brits wud've flown under by now 🏴☠️😏
*yawn*
There goes a waste of 50k of fuel and 400hrs of maintenance. Well spent.
Don't forget, that flight was half its service life. Got about another 45 minutes service life between the two.
RAAF should have brought F 15 Eagles instead.
