This was so accurate, I am blown away by your quality and editing for how few views this has! The first game is one of my favorites, with mods on PC it reaches its near full potential. I love the more serious neo noir tone. It seems many games nowdays cant take themselves seriously solely for the sake of a younger audience.
You know, I tried finding this video just by searching UA-cam. No luck. Which means, I’m amazed that you found it. I just finished a 4th replay of OG Watch Dogs. Totally agree about games not being able to take themselves seriously... Forspoken? Immortals of Aveum? That pathetic attempt to be immature like the audience they’re chasing seems to backfire a lot too... So many DC movies. 😢 Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Dude! Thanks for watching my first video! They get better. I'm constantly amazed at the things people love about games. I thought the police chases were nearly impossible without drawbridges or hacking traffic lights and I suck at finding the hacker when I'm being invaded… so I disabled it in my game. But a fan is a fan. We like different parts of the same game. It all works! thanks for your comment.
@@MediaKitGaming You put real effort in your videos. Essay, analysis, discussion, or whatever videos are my favorite type of content on youtube. I'm like your, 542nd subscriber now. Bonne chance to you.
I actually prefer Watch_Dogs 2 over the first, but I will agree that the UI is awful. The minimap is way to big, and as far as I can find there's no way to either shrink it or turn it off. The only real reason I prefer it over the first is the freedom of having an objective and leaving the player to do it their own way. Watch_Dogs 1 has the same issue that stops me from replaying Red Dead Redemption 2, but not as badly as that game. Red Dead treats the player like an infant even approaching the last stages of the game. Stay a maximum of 6 feet away from Dutch, or back to the checkpoint you go. Don't shoot the guy who has already started shooting at you, follow Dutch on the objective path until Dutch shoots the same guy you just game over'd for shooting. You'd better not be trying to go into the crowded Saint Denis market, where it would be hard for the police to shoot you without shooting civilians in the way, hijack the trolley that has a set track, so a cop could potentially sit further along on it and snipe you. Watch_Dogs doesn't have it that bad, but you can be game over'd for such horrible mistakes as shooting people who aren't even relevant to the mission anymore, letting the badguy get 30 ft away from you when you can easily get his trail again, and being detected for less than a second before smoking the guy with no shots fired. If Watch_Dogs 1 had the player agency and mechanical depth 2 does, it would probably be one of my favorite games instead of just one that sits in my Owned But Not Installed Games list. None of the Watch_Dogs games are currently installed on my console. Ubisoft is the master of franchises with potential to drop all time classics that never manage to actually do so.
Thanks for sharing. I just replayed all the Watch Dogs games this summer. WD2 was the only one I couldn't finish because I just got sick of it. I will totally play 1 & Legion again sometime. But you're in good company. A LOT of people prefer 2 over 1. Thanks for the warning about RDR2. I determined quite a while ago that I would pass on it but you've reinforced my position. I'm playing The Witcher 3 right now and I'm struggling to get through it... Cutscenes, the game.
@@MediaKitGaming I really hate when games don't have a skip cutscene button. The story could be the greatest ever told, but if I can't skip the cutscenes, the game could go right in the trash. The Yakuza/Like A Dragon series, love it as I do, is probably the very worst about it. Some scenes you press start and then press X. Others you push start and it gives you "Unskippable." And then most of the dialogue is text, meaning to try and speed it up, you jackhammer the A button for what can sometimes be minutes. The Persona series also has the same problem, likely because they're both Sega games. The Witcher through the whole game is nothing but the Yakuza and Persona style Jackhammering the button to fast forward through pointless filler that I'm convinced is only there because the voice actors were being paid based on how many words they said.
@@pugnippelz69 There are players that GUSH about how good the Witcher 3 is. They genuinely love it and repeat-play it. I don't get it. I'm not going to say the story isn't good, it probably is. But I don't play games for a story… that's why I watch movies. A game has to prioritize gameplay first for me. And Witcher 3 doesn't have it. And for all the good acting the voice actors do, it's not easy to watch hours of 3D models fail at real human expression and subtlety. And don't get me started on all the times you have to use your Witcher senses to follow footprints. THIS IS NOT GAMEPLAY! I'll be making a mention of this in my next video.
Me a huge Fan of the Watch Dogs Franchise love your content man. My channel is pretty much about the Watch Dogs franchise as well. I got so much ideas this series can do to redeem itself.
At this point I think Watch Dogs should just go full sci-fi. Watch Dogs: Legion is almost a prequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Watch Dogs 4 should just bridge the gap. Set the game in Blade Runner's Los Angeles! Flying cars? Bring it on!
@@MediaKitGaming But not on the levels of Saints Row 4 though hopefully not. If it was like CoD Advanced Warfare and CoD Black Ops 3 that would be fine though.
Watch Dogs 1 totally deserved better, instead the game was ritually sacrificed and Publicly shamed by the media and Angry nerds that haven't played it, or underestimated it And haven't payed atention to what it was. everybody Praises GTA 5 the most ridiculous game i ever played and honestly shouldn't even be Called GTA...just call it open world Payday... and not even get me started with the Online of GTA 5 that's just Saints Row but Without Context and good lore to back it up...just tedious and Boring grind... but oh no! My favorite parts of Watch Dogs 1 were police chases and those online missions where you hack other people.
