Text:
The weak breeze whispers nothing
The water screams sublime
His feet shift, teeter-totter
Deep breath, stand back, it’s time
Toes untouch the overpass
Soon he’s water bound
Eyes locked shut but peek to see
The view from halfway down
A little wind, a summer sun
A river rich and regal
A flood of fond endorphins
Brings a calm that knows no equal
You’re flying now
You see things much more clear than from the ground
It’s all okay, it would be
Were you not now halfway down
Thrash back to break from gravity**
What now could slow the drop
All I’d give for toes to touch
The safety from the top**
But this is it, the deed is done
Silence drowns the sound
Before I leaped I should’ve seen
The view from halfway down
I really should’ve thought about
The view from halfway down
I wish I could’ve known about
The view from halfway down
*In the second bridge, I play an Emin briefly before the Cmaj as an error.
**I messed up the lines here in the recording compared to the episode, the lines should be "Thrash to break from gravity" and "The safety back on top".

I'm about 4 years too late for this, but for anyone still listening this song is now up on Spotify and all major streaming sites, link is in the bio! There still hasn't quite been any shows like BoJack since.
Thank you! Still listening to this in 2024!
That poem was horrifyingly beautiful.
Based on bojack horseman
so good. i am gonna tweet this at Raphael Bob-Waksberg.
I feel like halfway through the music could have gone more dramatic just like the tone secretariat got while he was reading the poem.
I’m gonna try making something like that
How did you do this so fast.
This is outstanding man! Love how it gets more frantic as it goes along just like Secretariat's/Butterscotch's reading of the poem.
i would have thought this would have 3 million views but maybe later
Maybe tomorrow, not tonight
Ian Hughes *claps*
hopefully soon- this is beautiful
a year has passed.
youtube recommendation disappoints us.
we'll see in a few more years.
Here before this goes viral :)
Amazing voice and emotion. Like Taron Egerton. You captured the panic perfectly
Just as beautiful as the performance in the show
This is beautiful. Thank you for making this. I miss BoJack already 😭
Same 😢
I wish i'd know how to play this
Just updated the description with the guitar chords!
this was beautiful- i needed a song version i think.
a song for me, a song for depression
I really really wanna own this song. Is there any way you can put this on ITunes?
Afraid I'm not sure of the copyright specifics to put it up on iTunes and Spotify since it's a derivative work, but I have put up a free download on my Bandcamp in the description though for folks to add it to their libraries!
Well, it’s fair use, so I doubt you’d have any problems, legally
This was really good. Don't listen to the haters.
Uuh I'm getting goosebumps! The poem in it self is beautiful and haunting, using it as lyrics with such a fitting instrumental is really the cherry on top
Amazing song, it definitely goes into one of my favorites! I’m honestly really glad I found your channel
Thank you so much for the kind words!!
Life’s a bitch but keep living. If only someone told Secretariat that.
I came back to listen to this song, I love it so much...
Damn this is incredible. What a voice.
Some how peaceful..
That was hauntingly beautiful. Thank you
👍
Love it! Please upload chords?
Love this. Thank you for making this a song.
Thank you.
Love this, good luck man
This is one of the prettiest things I’ve ever heard
Much love♥️
Back again... I love this song, just went through a breakup and needed a song to reflect! Thank you again Matt!
Oh my god
I still listen to this song like every day. You did an amazing job on this.
Trying to translate this to Ukulele. Very difficult, can’t get the strumming to sound right.
This is beautiful, thank you
Thank you so much for the tab
Great job! Haven’t been able to get your version out of my head since I listened to it months ago!
God this is beautiful, you adapted this perfectly.
Hauntingly beautiful
Awesome job!!
Wow
Holy shit this is amazing. Thankyou!
🦋🦋🖤
Just beautiful bruh ❤️
Jesus Christ this is just perfect
calma
wow
Eh, nice job making a catchy tune that people will remember but Im a bit disappointed. I feel this sort of missed the actual tone of the poem with the rhythmic pattern and chord progression choices. It comes across as a bit rushed and insincere. Just my two cents.
hate this taking a beautiful poem and trying to make it yours like this, this version takes all the intensity out
Lol stop he isn't trying to "make it his" he's expressing the poem through a different medium. It's a different interpretation. People do that with art sometimes.
bullshit "art" saying something is based on bojack horseman then just copying it to a dramatic tune is not art its the exact same thing hes just trying to jump on the hypetrain asap hoping it will blow him up or something
right even though he barely wrote anything and the lyrics arent his but whatever, ive said all i wanted to say
you are the "no fun allowed" kind of man. anyways a lot of art is basically taking something and making their own spin on it. this dude is doing that, and it's not like he's claiming that the poem is his so dont get your marbles in a twist
@@arianneikusa8160 u really feel u have to repeat what the first guy said? you wanna have the exact same discussion again? just read back if u want
