    good video, thanks for posting. I also have squeaks and rattles from the inside and quite surprised since this is a very expensive German made vehicle. When it is warmer outside the rattles seem to go away. That piece of trim by the pedals should be there, weird that it is not there on your car. Totally agree about the knob for the screen....USELESS! The view from the back up camera could be better but the car is amazing to drive; handling, acceleration, braking and that PDK, AWESOME! The reason you buy a Porsche is for the driving experience..Yes, there should be no rattles or missing trim, but the drive is incredible and that's why I love mine.

    My uncle had the same issue with the door making noise. He talked so many time with the dealership, but eventually he got the whole door changed for free(with warranty obv.) and they said that it is not a rare problem, they have heard multiple customers complaining about this.

      Really? That’s good to know. I just spoke to my dealer this week and they are really backed up for service work. Once I get it in it’s the first issue I want looked at so I will keep that info in mind! Thanks for posting it!

    Good info Steve. Hope all is well in the UK. I have the clear bra film on the hood, front bumper and fenders. Some kind of paint protection is definitely needed. The rear tires will wear about twice as fast as the fronts. I don’t track my 2017 Carrera and had to replace the rear tires at 12000 miles and all four tires at 25000. Looks like your red leather seats are holding up well. I was concerned about the color when I ordered mine, but so far no problems with wear. My biggest problem has been the failure of valves in the cooling system last year, which caused the engine to overheat and left me waiting two hours for a flat bed to arrive. A common problem with the 991.2 model I understand. So far nothing else has gone wrong. Warming up here so time to hit the road. Cheers 😎

      Hey Gilbert! You know what I understand now why people get cars PPF'd so I totally understand why you went with it on the front end. I know I have had a lot of stuff flying off the car at times through the summer into this winter. I think I have been lucky!
      Ah so you got 12,000 out of your rears, that's good to know! I am going to keep an eye on them and take another look at 6,000 and see how they are going.
      Yes the interior colour is doing fine actually! My drivers seat is totally fine, it is just softening up a bit on the edge but that's all really. The colour is still solid and not wearing any.
      It is starting to warm up here too and the restrictions are being eased so hopefully I can get more long open road drives in as well! All the best!

    Good video - FYI information I also get some rattles and squeaks on my 4s Cab and agree some of them are related to temperature - interestingly i had a knocking noise that was driving me crazy that came from around the passenger seat - after much consternation it was discovered that the noise was coming from the leather loop on the side of the seat that is used to pull the seat forward to gain rear access knocking against the plastic side/rear of the seat itself - it does make you wonder how they test for these problems as they the car is being designed !!

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  3 роки тому

      Hey Tony! Thanks for the info. The noises do seem to come with drops up and down in the temperature. That's an interesting one on the pull tab, I'm not fond of that as design point anyway. If I get any noises around that area I will go straight to that and see.
      I am not sure they really did test some of the new design changes to see how they would fair. What confuses me is they share parts around all the models and this 992 is late in the line of being updated. Surely some of these things came up on other models first.

      No problem. I think if you read through the other comments you will see anyone passing on issues from their ownership. A couple of agreed with some of the noises but again this is a car under warranty, I just haven't been able to get it to the dealer to have it looked over. To be honest I have never owned a new car from any manufacturer that after a year or 2 didn't develop some kind of rattle or interior squeak.

    Hahaha I've done only 2K on the P-zeros (20"/21") and are down to 5.1-5mm average. You need to try harder! Saying that every drive for me is a fun drive (no commuting in traffic here).
    Love it so far but thanks to Covid not driven it as much as I'd like...

    At a certain point, every (and I mean every!) 911-owner starts rambling about rattles, noises, squaks on the inside of these cars. At this price point, especially for a German built car, this is totally not acceptable; it would drive me nuts (these are dream cars, not Dacias) and for that reason only, I'm just not that interested in them anymore. I would be so disappointed ...

      Hey Scott! I never really noticed on my 718 as i mostly used the rear boot and it has a different lock on it doesnt it. But that’s not a bad point. Do you find it sticks? It seems like the cold takes the spring out of the latch popping up.

    Great video and thanks for doing this. I am looking to buy a 992 in a year or so and I was wondering about how the interior build quality would hold up. Do you find lots of crap goes down that little trough around the shifter? I don't think that was the greatest choice by Porsche to do that even though it does look nice when it's clean.

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  3 роки тому +1

      I actually just had to jam a cloth down in the groove and run it round the other day. I don’t seem to be able to get a hoover brush in there to do it that way. I would agree it looks good visually but is abit of a pain to keep clean.

    Brilliant video! When you talk about the rattles in the door cards... did they get sorted?

      I haven't had a chance to take it in to be looked over Michael sadly. I need the car and I can't borrow one at the moment.
      That's interesting. I had got mine to stop with the carboard so I had narrowed mine down to the storage piece that stretches the length of the door.
      There is a comment on this video from another viewer who said their uncle had to actually have the whole door card replaced as they couldn't sort his rattle.
      Do you think it is the blank plastic that would be seat memory buttons? Is that where you mean?

      @@Get10Yards There is not a great deal out there on the Carrera, everyone buys GTSs and Turbos, I went back to Porsche Newcastle as the rain sensor wasn't working, surprised to find that it was an option with the auto dipping rear view mirror which I didn't spec! If only I had known. I also have an issue that the radio switches itself off. They can't find anything, however, it only happens when my iPhone is paired to the system. Solution? Turn the radio back on.

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  3 роки тому

      Ah is the rain sensor tied to that option is it. I missed the auto dipping mirror off when ordering and wish I had taken it. Although I do prefer the manual intermitting wipe on the wipers over the sensors.
      I haven't had an issue with the radio switching off but my phone/ipod connecting when I plug in after start up sometimes refuses to register. The phone connects and it shows on the apps screen connected but looses the Ipod connection. It only sorts itself out the next day and then it will be fine for awhile after. But when it happens, turning off the system, repairing the phone, even restarting the car after locking it doesn't reset it. Again not a big deal but just a little strange.

      That could have just been my car. That door rattle did ease and go away after awhile. I did find that some came and went with how hot or cold it was. If the car warmed up inside on a longer journey some of them went away I am guessing with a bit if expansion. But some points might be common like the rear seat squeaking. Others said they didn’t notice as they always had them flat for storage. The belt slapping off the seat and frame seemed like a common complaint.

      I would say it was not more than I experienced with any other new car I have ever owned. I've always felt it is a little like a new house settling. Some came and went when it was warmer in the summer and colder in the winter. So I put it down to expanding/contracting with the temperature. The door card squeaking did go away after a while and I was able to take the cardboard wedges out. The seatbelt rattle I think is just a design issue, I found a lot of other complaining about it online and the solution was to move the buckle right up with the plastic slide. It does seem though that the quality feel between the 718 I had and then the 992 was lower when it came to some of the ways the interior was put together.
