Additionally, Mr. Pringle if you happen to see this, a couple things I’d like to point out: You mistakenly pronounce the non-phonetic “qualifier” symbols such as “ĝiš“ which are denoted in transliterations by hyperscript text. These are believed to not be actually spoken, but instead serve to identify the semantic class if the word they accompany. While in practice it is admittedly difficult to always identify when a symbol is supposed to be read in such a way(since they can also still occur as regular morphemes), most instances are fairly regular (such such as the sign 𒀭 often appearing next to deities’ names)

When the world needed him the most, he returned
I'm a simple man, I see Peter post a new video, I watch, I like.
You are a Canadian national treasure sir, thank you for playing these ancient songs and preserving humanity's history.
He's already saved my life 5 times.. no getting around it... I'm tied to his music, the same as any addiction that sustains life... I couldn't get rid of him if I wanted too ❤️
HAIL SATANAS (ENKI)❤️
Thinking these Sumerians were on the borders of my country Iran gives me a feeling of being very close to them. Great voice by the way Peter.
Another mesopotamian banger, finally!
I can imagine a metal version with chugging guitars.
BABE WAKE UP ANOTHER EPIC DROPPED
Wow interesting, i just an hour ago remembered your first song about Gilgamesh and Enkidu
A heartwrenching song that one.
@@michaelpettersson4919 totaly agree
He seems to straight way came out from the books of sumer. His voice just seems to penetrate each cell of my body. It's so intensely haunting and beautifully sad.
Уникално!!! Любим изпълнител!!!🙂😻👍
Your series of Sumerian music videos have been a beautiful and inspiring accompaniment to my daily work. Thank you for these videos.
Oh my goodness, I love this so much! Your voice is so beautiful and soothing! I could just listen to it all day. It feels like I'm sitting at the feet of someone telling me an old story, and it makes me feel like I've traveled back in time to ancient Sumeria. I love how educational this whole video is as well. Just the amount of dedication to detail you put into the description and the lyrics is incredible. The way you sing the words is magical and mysterious and the instrument sounds absolutely gorgeous! I'd never actually heard a song sung in Sumerian before, and I'm definitely not disappointed. I love learning about the ancient world, particularly Egypt, Sumeria, Mesopotamia, etc. This just makes me want to immerse myself even more in the history of these wonderful cultures. I'm so happy I found your channel Peter. Thank you so much for posting these!
Singing about my lovely Enki?! I am here for it!
I once again extend my extreme gratitude to your wonderful work and dedication. You are paving the way for future musicians, historians, archeologists, and storytellers with your music. Thank you!
Thank you for every new song! This one raised my spirits this evening suprisingly high, I didn't even know I felt down until I didn't! Listening to these pieces of ancient history always makes me like I have a place in this world and I can't thank you enough for your art that makes me feel that way.
When I next teach my ancient epics course, some of these videos will be a part of it. What beautiful and powerful music! Thank you for bearing the torch of ancient poetry, stories, and music - for encouraging an appreciation for the beautiful arts they created, which are still relevant today, for those willing to listen.
I feel so blessed to live in a time where it's possible to experience these beautiful relics after they'd been forgotten and lost for so long.
BRAVO!! I often have very vivid dreams about these times. Smells, sounds, feeling of the ground beneath my feet. All that came while wide awake. Could have listened for hours.
Zurna is also played in Turkey and in Bulgaria by Turkish Roma. I tried it out myself when I was in Bulgaria. It's fun to play and it is L-O-U-D and wonderful.
yoo my man peter dropped another banger, lets go
Your effort is precious and your passion is contagious! Thanks for spreading love dor music of all time!
Interesting to hear and read the stories of ancient people... Also that we don't know the whole picture, and can't necessarily be certain about anything we interpret from their times. Fascinating for the imagination..

A legend has returned
i can clearly picture merchants in the streets of uruk humming to this banger after it got stuck in their head last night at that absolute rager in the tavern
Enki, the lord of the destinies, Enki, the king of the Abzu, lord of heaven and earth, self-reliant, father Enki, engendered by a bull, begotten by a wild bull, cherished by Enlil the Great Mountain, beloved by holy An, king.Enki, lord of plenty of the Anuna gods, Nudimmud, mighty one of the E-kur, strong one of heaven and earth! Your great house is founded in the Abzu, the great mooring-post of heaven and earth. Enki, from whom a single glance is enough to unsettle the heart of the mountains; wherever bison are born, where stags are born, where ibex are born, where wild goats are born, in meadows ......, in hollows in the heart of the hills, in green ...... unvisited by man, you have fixed your gaze on the heart of the Land like a halhal reed. Praise be to Enki, the much-praised lord who controls all the arts and crafts, who takes decisions!"
