Recently my wife (an antiques dealer) found me a vintage natural horn and a rare buicine, and I started messing around with them, and I am watching brasses' tutorials just to get a feel on the whole thing. @@darknotez7170 Typically our suggestion is to go to your local music shop and try to rent one first. Tubas in particular can be very expensive and cheap ones tend to be more difficult to play. Renting provides a cheaper option and gets you a better instrument. If you are interested in eventually buying one, try to find a store that uses your rental credit towards an eventual purchase, so that renting works towards buying one. If you are still interested in buying one, looks for some used tubas, from a reputable dealer such as Woodwind Brasswind.
I played an EEb Tuba for 16 years, but when I left the music school after university, I really need one, I miss playing, actually the reason I started looking for other players here 😂 it was always awesome

Take deep breaths making sure you fill your diaphragm and exhale. Usually 4 counts in and 4 out at 80 bpm. Then try to translate that feeling to the horn
Coming from a relatively experienced tuba player, I can safely say: *NEVER EVER PLAY THE TUBA WITH A COLD* last time I did that I almost choked myself half to death
From a clarinet player switching to sousaphone for marching season, this is kinda a lifesaver.

Yeah, it’s the same as 4 buttons. The 4th button just makes the 1 and 3 valve combination more in tune. Same for 123=24

The first time i tried a tuba with my teacher i could play a scale that was pretty easy
