If only this came in an Earth tone, like the green they use for the Voyager. Can find this tent for $200 right now, while the Voyager 3EX is $425. The Voyager 2EX is more comparable in price being $250, but it's a bit smaller. I'd prefer the larger tent, but I'm just not a fan of that color. I'll probably end up going with the Voyager 2EX... Anything from Robens is going to be a solid buy.
Thanks for the video. I have the same problem with a lot of condensation and the inner and outer tent touching each other. I want to like it, but these problems are a no-go and make the tent unusable for me.
Hiya How have you got on with the tent? I’m looking for one just like this bike packing with me son and was all set on the Wild Country Hoolie ETC, but then I saw the Robens! It’s a good £100 cheaper than the Wild Country so I’m desperately trying to find comparisons! My other tents (3 of them) are Wild Country and I tend to stick with what I know.
No problems with it. The extra space is useful for backpacking. And at around £200, you can't go wrong really. 👍 I notice the current model of this is a different colour. Not sure if anything else has changed www.robens.de/en-gb/shop/outdoor-tents/pioneer-3ex.
Great video! Do you know which footprint would be good to use with this tent? This would also help with the condensation but Robens doesn't give any specifications
They don't make a footprint for this tent. You could get a tarp and fold it over for a DIY approach. The condensation comes from breathing while sleeping, with the moisture in the air condensing on the cold fly sheet so a footprint wouldn't help unfortunately.
Totally a copy of the hilleberg nallo 3, but much cheaper alternative for sure, almost tempted to get one for when i don’t wanna use my nallo like at festivals so no chance of having it wrecked lol
Looks like a lovely wee tent, hope you have fun bike packing
