One of the most underrated songs of all time. This song directly affected my life and gave me solidarity in the questions I had about religion and further cemented my views as an agnostic. I’ve come back to this record so many times and man Noones ever said it like that before
I want to get a t-shirt made that says 'there is nothing inherently wrong with us'. Love the sentiment. I love the simple beautiful truth of that statement. Thank you.
Guys, this song is so beautiful and I am very grateful for it. Losing my faith a few years ago was one of the hardest things that ever happened to me and I've never found a song more relatable. How fitting that this gorgeous moving song sounds like church music.
I love playing your albums on repeat(even when my friends don't and they start hating giving me control).Your sound is AMAZEBALLS!! Just thought i should share.
I relate so much to this: "But I lied, and I knew I'd lied, but I did everything I did to soothe the family pride and I just don't think I can keep it up now. Because I've never heard Jesus speak to me (not in any way that I'd consider speaking) but I bowed my head just the same." Well maybe not "family pride," but I wanted to believe because it's what my family and religious community wanted/expected. I prayed lots of times for God to make his existence known to me. But it never happened. And eventually I accepted that there were too many moral problems and contradictions within my faith for me to keep believing. This whole song is freaking beautiful. I'm sorry for what you went through when you were considering suicide. Very glad that you "held out long enough to see that everybody really makes their own destiny." Wishing you a wonderful life.

The verses you quoted are so perfect. I can hardly sing along without choking up (genuine tears this time!).
How many of us are there with this same exact bruise? Thanks for the healing chords.
So brilliant, so brave.
I love this song. Great work!
I can't stop listening to this.
It talks to me at a quite personal level.
So fucking beautiful.
Sounds good :D
