So no hard feelings towards either of them. This is just the story that happened.

The mock kissing (along with the "Is that satisfactory? Is that satsfactory?") made the whole apology look very disingenuine.
Funny he did a video about showing a "basic level of respect" and then does this extremely half-assed apology.
Yossha Wesh He does the kissing often in his vlogs at the end and towards his fans during live streams. Often ending with "I love you, bye." His apology was genuine, as I said, the Clip only allows for 1 minute. He said more before that part so you have to watch it on the stream. Mark always rages hate against games that fluster and frustrate him. It's his first reaction and it's what he's known for. If you see his older videos this is not the first time he's raged pure hate towards a game but if you also pay attention to the rest of the videos you would see how he praises when is well made. He praised this one, the graphics, the effort put into it, except when he gets salty for losing and having to start over because it's a pet peeve of his.
He's human, he's got defects. He's an introvert who ironically has some awkward social moments, he's officially diagnosed with ADHD and I'm more than sure he's got some sort of OCD with the way he gets about some games. (I've an interest in psychology and I've noticed these quirks) He's a salty boi who got frustrated and had a tantrum. He can't control his words during anger and he knows, that's why he apologized for it. He's called himself an asshole often enough but only the fans who have seen enough of him know he doesn't mean it as a bad person because he's not. Even during his streams he gets a bit too salty with his own fans then he apologizes too. Those are the moments those "defects" that make him who he is show.
All this drama was caused by the immature assholes that watched the video and think they're entitled to hating and went after the developer because they wanted to hurt someone, because they enjoy it. They used Mark as an excuse. But this whole thing also increased the game's interest because this is now the new game that broke Markiplier. Before this it was I Am Bread and before that, Vanish. He was actually worse with those and it only made the games more popular.
He actually said he might try playing this again BUT that he has to be allowed to rage and bitch and rant at it. It's what he does. He wouldn't be Markiplier if he didn't. Just look up a Rage compilation from him and you'll see.

@Yossha West I dunno, it seemed alright to me. He was just blowing off steam in this clip. I honestly expected him to say much worse considering the backlash he got for it. While I don’t think it’s right, he did indeed apologize for what he said. Like the above comment said, he gets angry at games but praises them where praise is due. As for the “is that satisfactory” comment , it sounded more like a “are we all cool now?” Thing rather than mocking, and he often makes kissing noises in twitch streams. I’d say the blame is more on Mark’s fans who kept harassing the game devs. Anyhow this happened a while ago and it was in the heat of the moment. He apologized, so I’d say just let it go.
Thank goodness for that. I get that he was mad, I get that. But personally insulting the developer because the game did what it was supposed to do was taking it too far. He also (unintentionally) sent a whole heap of his subscribers to get angry with the developer, insulting him again, and even threatening the guy. That's taking it _way_ too far, and I think the developer deserves a bigger apology than that. He literally got threats sent to him. I feel sorry for the developer.

Honestly, this whole ordeal aged like fine wine, especially with the people back then during Mark's rage saying that "Mark should apologize", and all this "defend the dev" shit. Mark trash talks the dev for being an asshole out of rage over his stream, yet didn't actually like, full-heartedly hate the dev, in reality it was just the anger talking. In this incident, the dev, aka Adam, responded (mostly) maturely saying that it's not his fault that Mark was suffering through his gameplay.
Not even a few weeks after this came the incident, a low-viewcount streamer who I don't remember the exact name of(but the video is definitely still floating about), says on his stream that "Adam seemed kinda like an ass", to which he immediately corrected himself saying that he didn't really mean anything too harmful by it and that he enjoys the games. Adam's response? Manually fucks with the guy's game for hours, ruining his stream entirely over a harmless comment, and after his stream drops over 60% of the viewers, proceeds to call the guy "a view farmer".
So, yep, some fine ass wine aged well here. Looks like Mark magically predicted Adam's personality perfectly.

Know what, the devs needed to hear this. Adam is a shithead. Even likes to go on a power trip towards smaller creators too. Mark sounded genuine about his rant and honestly? Deserved.
Mark is overrated. Adam puts hard work into his project end of the story
…and Adam is also shit human being too. Not to mention, Mark also has projects that he’s put countless hours into. Does it matter if Adam put in hard work just for the game to be a boring and unnecessarily difficult mess? Does it give him the power to make other creator’s playthroughs miserable through his trolling? It kinda is true tho. The game is stupidly hard, enough to make some people bored enough to stop playing. The streamers make the whole gameplay fun, which makes people buy the game, some even without giving it a second thought. Tho, I understand what you mean

Honestly, good for Mark. The ending was fucking bullshit and the game was so hard it wasn't even that fun to enjoy. The devs really messed up on this game and messed with MULTIPLE streamers and their aren't even checkpoints so all the time you put into a round GONE. it's like finishing a 1000 puzzle and someone breaks it.

Adam built in a backdoor to games and is able to spawn the hitman, dollmaker, police and is even able to open things on the in-game pc... look at xqc getting trolled with the gilette song by him. it was there, has been removed after backlash from players.

he did nothing wrong. the game is extremely unfair and not fun, and the dev is a massive prick. it would be different if there was a level of skill to it, and there is somewhat, but at the end of the day it's rng. never make your game rely on rng to beat, it sucks.
This game is not rng based at all. Its 95% knowledge based, its just not game for casuals, thats the point of this game..

The game wasn't purely rng, it had a backdoor in it that allowed the dev to manually fuck with a player's game. Not even just little trolling, he could trigger any event, spawn any enemy, even control the in game computer and he'd routinely do it to destroy runs or fuck with people.
Not even fun ways either, if a streamer called him out on his bullshit he'd completely fuck their runs for hours.
It was so bad they patched out the backdoor because enough people were complaining about it.
That's why Mark raged at the game, it was literally rigged against him.

So this is what they are talking about, I watched a video of Mr.Kravin and he got death threats just by commenting on a lot of bad stuff around the game. Not sure if its the developer who did it or just the fans, or maybe the dev is manipulating his fans to do it. Well, we don't know the other side of the story.

If you actually watched the live streams, like I did, you would be able to see that Mark died over dozens of times, most of the times he was almost done. Of course he would get frustrated. And considering the fact that the developers might've been screwing with his game, that just makes it even more of a load of shit. This game is pretty goddamn hard, and let me tell you it's not hard in a good way. There's a difference between a challenge and a mess. This game is a mess. Sure, what Mark said was harsh, but you say harsh things when you're mad. And Mark is only human

I remember hearing about this and my first thought was that Mark was just being a salty jerk but then the whole dev trolling shit came out and and gave a new perspective of the situation. I genuinely think Mark got fucked with.
I remember watching one part of the stream where I think Mark got killed by Lucas even though he did everything right hell even waited quite a while before coming out of the bathroom and still failed. I also remember some other weird shit going on too but will have to watch it again. To be honest I don't blame him for getting pissed off and saying what he said, I would've probably said the same thing.

Aczid Gaming reflect studios is one guy and his name is Adam, what Mark did is talk in the worst possible manner about one mans life’s work. It’s despicable.
I know about adam, but he said that he created the game but one person helped with the 3d art, and the voices. So it was 98% him which was the bad part.
Mark played the game for 30 hours and Adam was trolling him and it wasen't fun, adams life work was shit and adam shouldn't never do another game.

Now im gonna i tried the game after seeing mark rage at it and im gonna tell you all from an higher skilled than average players point of view and if marks correct so when you load up you get told the basic but not enough to know much which is aright but annoying the enemies in the game are programmed a bit shoddily but worse than that i died to a glitch 3 or 4ish time in an hour of playing and the game is heavily tedious and for a long period of time gets on your nerves so all and all i agree with what mark said but i dont think people shoiludve harrased the developer

Honestly, watching in hindsight, the only real thing he needed to apologize for was the "Fuck you, developers, you're welcome for all the sales I pushed your way." That part I admit he went too far. The rest was pretty tame, especially for him. However, I will admit despite the more low-key tone of his rage, he sounds infinitely more pissed off than he normally does. Like, he sounds legitimately hateful, not just angry he can't win, but resentful of the game's creation.
he probably didn't know it at the time but Adam (the lead developer of the game) deliberately trolled streamers that played the game which included Markiplier by messing with the game as they played it and made the game even more harder then it already was.

Most likely. Adam (the game dev, not the character) either feared Mark's fanboys or just had his confidence thrown out the window. Thanks to Mark I won't be getting the full story of Adam's games because RwS, WTTG and every other game are all tied together in one big plot, and the next game would certainly explain the ending of WTTG 2.

The game was just too ambitious with all of the new additions made from the first game. Alot of the mechanics this game has are neat concepts yet the way they're all put together makes it nightmarish to deal with.
I was fine with the first game not having checkpoints and making you beat it in one run since there was way less you had to worry about and you can get through the game pretty fast if you know what you're doing but this game has so much more you need to be doing which makes you progress at a snails pace that having to start over is especially demoralizing.

I feel bad for the developer. I get that Mark's angry, I understand that, but this is taking it too far. What he actually said - the words he spoke - aren't so bad (except for personally insulting Adam for making a game that's hard, which is the point), but what resulted was bad.

That was _way_ too much, and I know Mark didn't intend for that to happen, but when you have that many people following you, you have to be careful what you say and do, because you can, as this proves, cause a heap of people to do something you didn't mean. People like mark have a lot of weight behind their words, and their words can cause people to do all sorts of things.
I know he did apologise in the end, but considering what trouble he caused for Adam, and especially the death threats, I feel Adam deserved a much bigger apology than that.

It sounds to me like the problem is the fans. Proof that humanity has failed if anyone watching Mark's streams really takes his words seriously. Mark admits to being a bad player and a not-pro MULTIPLE TIMES in this series. Yet his fan base still believe when he criticizes the devs that somehow he means it. Sigh.

Every celebrity has a mob of 'stans' who think that the word of their idol is the word of god, I doubt that MOST of Mark's fans went and lynched that developer, it was probably a very small percentage. It's just that when you're talking about a person with 20 million+ fans, even a small percentage of these brainless haters is enough to cause huge issues.
If we take a safe estimate, Mark's comments here probably sent a mob of about 100-200 THOUSAND haters in the developer's general direction and of those hundreds of thousands of people there were probably only a couple of hundred nutcases who crossed the line and did stuff like sending death threats, mailing, tracking etc. It's nothing compared to his following of 20 million but a couple hundred nutcases is still a couple hundred nutcases. It was just a very crappy situation in general. I get that Mark was angry but when you have THAT much influence you also need to have the nerves of a professional. You need to accept that your words may ruin people's days, maybe even their life if things get out of hand.
That being SAID....If there's any developer who deserves to have this happen to him. It's this guy. I don't know if you've seen the new drama but the man is either a psycho, a moron, or he has officially gone off the deep end.

Weird how Mark was raging on the game just because of Lucas which is the easiest to counter. He just needed to put a fucking sensor on both sides of the fucking hallway.
