Hi Jara, I know you have posted all of your recipes so they can be printed out, but, have you ever considered publishing a spiral bound cookbook with all of your recipes? I would definitely purchase one or two! Thanks for keeping us prepared. Have a blessed day.
Thank you for watching! ❤️ Yes, I will have a printed cookbook .. someday! 🤣 It's been on our to-do list for a while now, but when we do it, we want it done right. But it will definitely happen someday, hopefully soon!
First of all, you are very pretty. I can understand wanting to have a supply of food when times are good and having it on hand when times are rough. I think you are giving good advice for those that need some guidance on how to prepare. I've seen others, but they don't really explain the cost. You may want to give a price cost on what will be needed so that a budget can be made. I don't see a famine ravaging the countryside, but food cost is a major factor for those that can't afford much. Propane stoves used indoors has never caused any problems in my 60 years. Simply crack a window. For those watching, buy a food vacuum sealer, it will save you so much money.
@@dkadwoa4114Aloha hugs 🤗 just remove lid stick the contain of fuel in the slot. Its a good idea to try it out before the emergency arises. I like the inexpensive one Blue & red container. Camping stove. Normal Green has side flaps to stop the Draft GBY
Sorry...couldn't find a soup bowl but am new to this group. Stumbled upon it looking for something else. This is soup weather here in Ohio so this is a win for my family. Thank you for the Broccoli Cheese soup...my personal fave!
Don't know how you got in my feed, but I'm glad you did! GREAT tips for me. I'll be getting freeze dried foods now to continue my prepping! Thank you very much!
A long long time ago I bought a 2 burner propane cook top. We had a bad ice storm and I was able to cook my family food. I tend to buy a lot of canned goods. I would love to make things like this so my son could cook when needed.
I used one of these stoves indoors for six months while waiting on kitchen installation. Best thing out. Also, my power goes out a lot, and I would be lost without it.
Hi Jara. Recovering from major surgery. The meals in a jar and bag have made sure we have great meals that my husband can fix. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I’ve learned that black pepper has to be freshly ground to impact the turmeric because pepper loses its benefits very quickly after grinding. So perhaps use a grinder and add pepper at the time of cooking.
You can keep the orange color on freeze dried carrots by blanching them first. If you don't blanche, then they will turn white. I've done it both way and you can definitely tell the difference. Follow guidelines for canning when blanching.
Purchasing FD Foods (Thrive) has been one of the best decision I’ve made. In the face of the recent Florida Hurricanes MIJ sure came in handy. We’re grateful here to have not been severely affected but continued prayers to those not so fortunate. I look forward to your videos and want to thank you for showing up consistently every Sunday. It’s a WP video or two and coffee every Sunday
And, I haven’t watched very much of your videos, but I will now! Where do you get all your wonderful freeze dried foods, and the powdered wine? This is just wonderful!
Thank you so much for being here! This is where I get most all of my freeze dried food: wickedprepared.thrivelife.com/ And this will bring you straight to the red wine powder: t.ly/ZoLFh I also try my best to include links for all of the ingredients I use, in the description right below the video 😊 I hope this helps! 😊😊
If we have freeze dried meat in larger cans or in FD large cans, we put everything except meat, and then choose the meat from can to add when cooking, that way, we can get more beans, noodles, grain vegies and seasoning, stretching the meal to feed more, as well as keeping our meats in the cans they came in.
🍲 Jara, I hope that you continue to bring us new meals in a jar recipes, but like others have suggested, I would definitely buy your cookbook. I am not able to print off your recipe cards, so I have to make as many notes as possible. Thank you for sharing all your great ideas. 😊
Just yesterday I was comparing ingredients on the brands of boullion available on Amazon and Walmart. I didn't find any that I felt good about ordering. It would be much appreciated if you would recommend one or two brands that you find healthier. I'm trying to put some things together before elections and winter weather. Thanks for all you do to help us. 😇
Print off her recipes and I put in those page protectors, then you can put in any notebook. Then you can add as Jara does more MIJ. Ring binders allow you to remove a page and post it on cupboard so you have the recipe “right before your eyes” 😉👍
This is the method I use also. My 3-ring binders are now approaching 35 yrs old. Filled with pages ripped out of magazines and pages photo-copied from recipe books at the library and of course my mom's famous "chocolate sheet cake". The family had another name for it tho. Replace the "ee's" with an "i". It was sooo rich.....
How far out have you tested them, doing it that way? I've seen many that came out of the fd orange, but gradually lose their color over the course of a year. Even when kept in a dark, cool, area.
TY for sharing and for spreading the word. These ideas may be useful for storing in mylar bags for portability and space savings (in a protective bucket of course). Super hopeful and TY for u for sharing!
Wow this is such a great idea! I'm newish to all of this. I have been prepping but not meals like this. Thank you so much for sharing. Glad I found you 😀
Very interesting. I'm at the chicken noodle soup portion and I have always wanted to do as you are doing here. I'm a prepper and a big soup maker so your video comes to me at the right time..As I view the rest of your video and look at your other recipes, I must say, your instruction and recipes are exciting, well thought out and tasty. I'm showing your video to my step daughter who is reluctant to do anything as far as prep goes and the best part, even if people don't need any of these items in an emergency, they are still great to have on hand...Cheers!
It took me a while to learn about oxygen absorbers… I feel kind of stupid now… I learned the hard way that you can’t let them sit exposed to oxygen on the counter till you’re ready to use them… They absorb the oxygen in the room and are completely worthless when you put them in the jar… They must be used IMMEDIATELY when exposed to the air… Opening my containers of oxygen absorbers is a timed event, and always makes me nervous! Someday I’ll be less of a pansy! Your recipe looks fabulous and I will definitely be using it! Thank you for a lovely video !
Just what I've been looking for. I want shelf stable meals that don't need to be water bath or pressure cooked to preserve. You mentioned a "better bouillon". What brand are you referring?
The Food Saver bags actually aren't great for long term storage because they are permeable, but they would work for shorter term storage, for instance making some meals to take on a camping trip in the next few weeks. Mylar bags, on the other hand, work just as well as mason jars, so some people prefer to use those!
I have a bachelor friend who could benefit from this wonderful idea. I think I'll make some for him and my sister's family. What a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
First video with you, Im a bew sub. These are not only great meals, they are lovely. What a great gift idea, for friends and family. (Especially with the oxygen absorber for those a little behind on prepping.)
Thank u for ur videos...with the chicken noodle and beef soups-I opt to use chicken or beef liquid broths-they come in a 32oz (which is 4 cups) container, good shelf life and it saves on using your precious stored water.
Hey all preppers! I like to stock up my pantry and I might be a beginner prepped. I’m wondering if recipes like this are reserved only for emergencies because they don’t taste as good? Or do they still taste great for daily/weekly use? Are they more expensive for daily/weekly use?
A lot of "prepping food" or "emergency food" is definitely just that - it's there ok the shelf, but you really don't WANT to eat it lol. But these jar meals are so much different .. it's good, clean, nutritious food that we actually LOVE to eat. And we eat a lot of it. We love having the jars on hand for convenience because it's such a better option than fast food or even frozen food. Not to mention, we eat A LOT of these meals just when I'm creating and testing new recipes lol. We love it! And is it more expensive? It depends on what we compare it with. But to me, when you combine the convenience along with the peace of mind .. they're priceless! If you compare these to McDonald's or frozen dinners, or anything quick like that .. jar meals are similar in cost or sometimes slightly less. But the key is .. you get to control what ingredients go into it. It also helps to always shop the sales and specials on freeze dried food. Thrive Life always has something on special, and it's always changing. So it's a great way to get stocked up on a variety of ingredients just by choosing what is being discounted. You can check that out here if you're interested: wickedprepared.thrivelife.com/shop

Freezedrying is not a common thing yet here in the Netherlands... freezedried food is amazingly expensive here too.... But.... the inspiration is fantastic, and dehydrated probably works just as well 😊
My two cents on the idea...I was pondering that as well since I don't have a home freeze dryer. However I think the mixes would require counting on a little more water supply, and more cooking fuel to cook as you would have to simmer the ingredients longer to get them tender, especially things like dense dried peas and beans.. So you wouldn't want to add the pasta and noodles into any of the dry mixes at the beginning because they would likely turn to mush in the longer cooking time, and you may end with a maybe unattractive gravy slushiness instead of soup broth. The solution in that case might be to store your pasta and noodles separately and maybe tape a note on your jars for how much noodles to add , and when to add them into your nearly cooked soup....And perhaps another helpful method to use dried mix ingredients might be to soak the dry mix in water until dry ingredients seem reconstituted before simmering it to save on cooking fuel, and still adding any noodles towards the end. ..All doable, but a little less convenient at the end than if using all quicker cooking freeze-dried ingredients. 🙂
Wow that canned soup does look good. I am surprised at how good they all look. Thanks for this and for all the rest of the tips and tricks. Great video.
I understand not having access to water. We live in the country with a water well. No electricity =no water. (Or flushing toilets). I finally purchased a 50 gallon water barrel. I prepared the water for long term and I have pace of mind now.
I think I’ll joined Thrive again. I enjoyed your soup mixes. Great for a senior citizen like me who isn’t always feeling like cooking a complete meal. Thanks for sharing!
How have I not seen this sight before??? Shadowbanned much? This is an awesome sight with great information for e1 not just us preppers!! I’m printnow as I type! Sharing with all!!
I love your meal-in-a-jar recipes and have you ever considered making them in the slow cooker? I was wondering if the freeze dried items would hold up long enough for a person to go to work and back? Would dehydrated items work better in this case?
I just used one for 4 days because of the hurricane and power outages! It worked great and we were very thankful that we had it! We have a camping stove and I have never used one of those inside, but I guess as long as you don’t have the gas running without lighting it.
With using the burners indoors, in a power outtage we usually have windows open anyways bc of no AC, no air circulation. Just don't place the burner directly in front of the window. We put it on our stove.
What a great idea! What does it cost to put together the Beef and Barley in a quart jar, for example. How does that compare with the meals in a pouch which seem rather expensive?
I am new in canning and prepping. I bought a can of dried freeze eggs. can I portion the eggs in small glass jars and add a n oxygen absorbers o store for a long time as an emergency food? In my home we are just my husband and I and we don't use a lot of eggs. It seems it will be a waste to open the big can of eggs and not use it as often.
These look delicious. I plan to try making some recipes like these but not just for disaster preparedness storage. My husband and I are in our 70s. I want to start prepping some meals like this that will be nutritious and easy to fix as we age. 🥣
If you go to my website: sites.google.com/wickedprepared.com/wickedprepared/meal-in-a-jar-recipes?authuser=0 Then find the recipe you'd like, click/tap on it. It will show you one version with color and pictures, and one without. Whichever you choose .. save the image to your device and then you can print it just as you would any other image. We don't have a fancy website with a "Print Recipe" button yet, but it's coming soon!
did you know folding versions of that stove are on the market now ? not only do they take up less space in your cupboard but they have the effect of moving the gas cartridge further away from the flame

I have not been able to find her printable recipes. Can you give me advice on where to find them? Thanks in advance.
@@sharonpeterson1803she printed her website in the comments above.
If you blanch your vegetables , drain , place on trays freeze for 24 hrs ,then freeze dry as normal never had a white carrot 🥕 again ❤
How far out have you tested them, doing it that way? I've seen many that came out of the fd orange, but gradually lose their color over the course of a year. Even when kept in a dark, cool, area.
@wickedprepared hmmm I'll have to find out , my long term stuff is in mylar bags,
I'd love to know because this has had me stumped for quite some time!
I'm new to your channel, amd I really like thst you show us how quick and easy it is to prepare the meal! Thanks for all that you share with us!
Thank YOU for being here! 😊❤️ I'm so happy you're enjoying and I hope my videos are helpful 😊😊😊 Thank you so much for the kind words!
I'm going to start building a pantry of jar meals but I'm also going to put your meals in a bag in our local blessing box.🍲
TY for sharing and for spreading the word. These ideas may be useful for storing in mylar bags for portability and space savings (in a protective bucket of course). Super hopeful and TY for u for sharing!
The problem with these. Not all can afford the freeze dried foods.
Wow this is such a great idea! I'm newish to all of this. I have been prepping but not meals like this. Thank you so much for sharing. Glad I found you 😀
I love barley. A nice break from noodles.
You need to look into cayenne pepper instead of black pepper, use less if it’s too hot but it’s amazing what cayenne pepper does for you
Go healthy no msg
Very interesting. I'm at the chicken noodle soup portion and I have always wanted to do as you are doing here. I'm a prepper and a big soup maker so your video comes to me at the right time..As I view the rest of your video and look at your other recipes, I must say, your instruction and recipes are exciting, well thought out and tasty. I'm showing your video to my step daughter who is reluctant to do anything as far as prep goes and the best part, even if people don't need any of these items in an emergency, they are still great to have on hand...Cheers!
Quick Barley - Publix Supermarket has it available at good price.
Good tip!!
To save fuel, put the boiling soup into a thermal cooker to continue rehydrating and cooking.
I like those labeled containers. I am looking forward to doing some of these recipes. Great idea!
That jar has a neverending bottom.
Save the freeze dried chicken "crumbs", add herbs and dried milk for a cup-a-soup
Yum!!
Just what I've been looking for. I want shelf stable meals that don't need to be water bath or pressure cooked to preserve. You mentioned a "better bouillon". What brand are you referring?
Awesome! ❤️😀 Yes, Thrive Life would be the one, and it's in stock, at least for right now 😊 wickedprepared.thrivelife.com/chicken-bouillon.html
Very informative...Have you ever tried storing these in a food saver type bag?
The Food Saver bags actually aren't great for long term storage because they are permeable, but they would work for shorter term storage, for instance making some meals to take on a camping trip in the next few weeks. Mylar bags, on the other hand, work just as well as mason jars, so some people prefer to use those!
I am new. I have lots of quart jars in the garage and was planning to sell them or give them away. Now I may make soups instead. Thanks for sharing!
Wholly Moley, Lady, What a Wealthy of information. Humble Thanks for all the Recipes❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have a bachelor friend who could benefit from this wonderful idea. I think I'll make some for him and my sister's family. What a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the printables. Today you made my three favorite soups. 😊
I have a 6 burner butane stove that i cook with every day.
Wow!
First video with you, Im a bew sub. These are not only great meals, they are lovely. What a great gift idea, for friends and family. (Especially with the oxygen absorber for those a little behind on prepping.)
Hello from Mississippi Jara!! Hoping you've had a great weekend!! Thank you for more wonderful meals in a jar😊😊
Saw this for the 1st time, had to subscribe. Like the other viewers i would love to see a recipe book. Great job! ❤😊
Dehydrated or freeze dried carrots turn white when exposed to indirect sun light. They keep their color better if kept in a dark place.
Thank u for ur videos...with the chicken noodle and beef soups-I opt to use chicken or beef liquid broths-they come in a 32oz (which is 4 cups) container, good shelf life and it saves on using your precious stored water.
What is the better brand of chicken bouillon?
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing!
Yes I am new.
@ thank you!
No problem 😊
Love this Chanel- I’ve always wanted to do this but just didn’t know how to- thank you
Where do you buy freeze dried foods you use? I don’t recall seeing them for sale
This is where I get them:

@@wickedprepared thanks for your quick response. I just found your channel and I’m excited about making some of these dried soups.!
😊😊😊 You're welcome! 😊😊😊 If you need anything, I'm happy to help! You can also feel free to email me at info@wickedprepared.com or text me at 207-762-7138 if it's easier 😊
Can you use Mylar bag vs jars?
Absolutely 💯
Thank you so much. I've been wanting to can some food.
@lorimccardle3538 great tips! Thank you 🙏
Where do you purchase your freeze dried meats?
I posted your UA-cam channel on Facebook to get more eyes to you. I love these soup recipes - thanks!
I've had a really delicious mushroom and barley soup before so that might be something you could try.
Oh wow! Your recipes look sooo good! I’ve printed several of them to try. Yum!
Let me know how they turn out! 😊😊😊
What is the better bullion you are buying?
This right here: wickedprepared.thrivelife.com/chicken-bouillon.html
Wow that canned soup does look good. I am surprised at how good they all look. Thanks for this and for all the rest of the tips and tricks. Great video.
Thank you, very well done.
I would like to know the expected life span of these prepared meals in a jar?
Hi! What better brand of chicken bullion are you switching to?
It's this one right here: wickedprepared.thrivelife.com/chicken-bouillon.html
I would cook the veggies first and add the noodles later. Dehydrated carrots have to cook a LOT longer than noodles.
Because of how small these are cut, they were perfect by the time the noodles were done!
I enjoyed your soup meals in a jar video.🍲
Water is the first thing you won’t have.
Should be gallons in your pantry..
If you don't have freeze dried meat. Just put a can of Cken on top of the jar.😊
Keep bottled water always!
I understand not having access to water. We live in the country with a water well. No electricity =no water. (Or flushing toilets). I finally purchased a 50 gallon water barrel. I prepared the water for long term and I have pace of mind now.
@tonnia62 …. That 50 gallons won’t last a week. You need some way of manually pumping water out of your well, imho.
I think I’ll joined Thrive again. I enjoyed your soup mixes. Great for a senior citizen like me who isn’t always feeling like cooking a complete meal. Thanks for sharing!
Love all you do for your viewers . Thank you ❤️
You are so welcome! 😊
This is nice ,and nice of you to share Thank you 💖😊 God Bless You Sweeties 😇
I do have 2 freeze dryers, and I WILL be making these…thank you!
How have I not seen this sight before??? Shadowbanned much? This is an awesome sight with great information for e1 not just us preppers!! I’m printnow as I type! Sharing with all!!
Thanks for being here! Be sure to subscribe to let UA-cam know you want to keep seeing this channel! 😃😃
Can you list where you bought your containers.
🍜 we both enjoyed your visit and kitchen craft!
Love these videos. Do you have one showing how you use the label maker for inventory?
I like these helpful foods..great saving help for tough times!!!
With using the burners indoors, in a power outtage we usually have windows open anyways bc of no AC, no air circulation. Just don't place the burner directly in front of the window. We put it on our stove.
Another Great Video! I can't wait to see what other soups you're going to show us, I need some new ideas up here in Minnesota. 🍲
Can you use mylar bags to store the meals if you are limited on space to store the jars?
Yes, absolutely!! 😊
WOW! I just found your channel. So happy I did.
I can't wait to get started
Thank you for sharing your lifestyle. 😮
Aww thank you for being here and taking the time to comment! ❤️❤️
Looks delicious!
Love the recipes in a jar idea. That is absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much
You're welcome! 😊 Thank you for being here and for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it! ❤️
What a great idea! What does it cost to put together the Beef and Barley in a quart jar, for example. How does that compare with the meals in a pouch which seem rather expensive?
🍲 I love this ideas!!
Try to get Bouilion without MSG.
🍜 Great soups. I plan to try all three.
Thank you for sharing your ideas
I love your videos. Hiw long can the soups will last in your pantry as an emergency meal?
I am new in canning and prepping. I bought a can of dried freeze eggs. can I portion the eggs in small glass jars and add a n oxygen absorbers o store for a long time as an emergency food? In my home we are just my husband and I and we don't use a lot of eggs. It seems it will be a waste to open the big can of eggs and not use it as often.
What a great idea! Thanks ❤
These look delicious. I plan to try making some recipes like these but not just for disaster preparedness storage. My husband and I are in our 70s. I want to start prepping some meals like this that will be nutritious and easy to fix as we age. 🥣
It's so smart to plan for the future. I hope this gives you some great ideas for meal prep. 🙏
Also okra is very Shoes
Where can I find her print out recipes
If you go to my website: sites.google.com/wickedprepared.com/wickedprepared/meal-in-a-jar-recipes?authuser=0
Then find the recipe you'd like, click/tap on it.
