HOW TO CUT AND MARK MULTIPLE OPENING MAT

This video shows how to mark and cut a multiple opening mat. I always start with the mat block size much bigger than my original measurements so if my math is off, as it was in this case, I don't have to start over. I had calculated about 16" tall, but forgot to add the height of the openings for the medals, so it was actually about 20" tall. No problem when I start by marking just a side and measuring from their to find the exact size of the outside dimension. This is a long video so please feel free to skip some sections if you like, but don't miss the last minutes to see the finished product.

Been stripping old upper wood sashes (6 over) and staining and finishing them with various clearcoats. They basicly 13 x 6 ½ glass openings. Want to do multi window matting in each opening.. Want to invest in a hand held mat cutter and rail system. This is more of a hobby. I made one, and family members and friends want one. Did 5 and now thougt about putting mat pictures in behind the glass.
Any input or direction much appreciated.
