I am a teacher and I'm failing to home school my kids. I believe a Mum and a teacher are two very different roles and it's difficult if not impossible to do both! At the moment I'm just bring a Mum who encourages them to do a bit of reading and a few worksheets each day but not every day ! Think of it as home learning or crisis schooling - happiness is my top priority for both me and the kids xxx
Thankyou !!!! Someone thinks same as me. As long as our children grow up with good mental health and are happy I don’t think we can ask for much more. My eldest was pushed to achieve and she found the world of heroin and we lost her so I cannot our this over enough. I would be more than happy if the rest of ours grew up to be kind, polite, happy children who are able to communicate well and have good manners. You are doing a grand job xxx
It's looking amazing, don't stress about not getting everything done...you're doing fantastically. The children are happy and that's the main thing! I honestly wouldn't worry about not doing as much schooling as others, you're doing what you can in crazy circumstances! Is it bad that I've saved this video so I can go shopping on Amazon with some of your links 🤣🥰
I am a therapist and my son has autism. We do only what we can that doesn't produce tears and frustration and we just keep moving along. Our 23 year old is a teacher and he says to please not stress or worry, kids wont fall behind and he will love all of them through the first few weeks and months of school when they all start back up.
Great idea for saving and reusing boxes from perfume sets etc and I've been a homeschooler for four years I learnt the hard way u can't do it all and life does get in the way some days it can be a small life blip or a huge life change like a death but you learn to cope we still have good weeks bad weeks which a lady once told me at a education meeting always remember life throws obstacles when your children are in school xx
They really do make excellent storage as they are generally quite sturdy 😊 And thanks for the homeschool feedback, it's good to hear from a pro when most of us are amateurs xx
Loved the dryer fluff bin, I have the same problem, no where o. Hand to put the fluff, will need to invest in one of these. The house is now feeling like a home. Loved the haul at the end. 😊👍
Looks like you are getting settled in your new home. I love your oven with the magic door! Looking forward to your next vlog xps congrats on 9000 subscribers, you deserve lots more!
Rhi, I honestly don't see the point of home schooling at the moment. When schools reopen, all the children are going to be at completely different points in the curriculum, so the teachers are going to have to virtually start from scratch. My kids are grown up, but if it was me, I'd make sure they read and did some basic maths every day, but I wouldn't stress about anything else. They learn so much through play and like you said, you've been moving house. You're a fab mummy and your kids are all intelligent, articulate and well mannered. You're getting it right. 😘
That's exactly what we've been told. There's talks of ending summer holidays early/start academic year early to "catch up/not fall behind". Parents approach with a pinch of salt
I have started using my Apple boxes for drawer separates (thanks to u) I have been putting the lid under the box to make it sturdier. Your house is looking lovely Rhi. Xxxxxx. I thought the same with the nice bags the sheets came in. Xxxxx. PS. Have you started putting the method in the drawer? I’m sure you used to throw the cap in (which is what I do). X. And (I’ll go in a mo lol) 9.12k subscribers! Fab. Xxxx
Mummy of Four UK Not too sure, I was scheduled to move last month but with us all being in quarantine / lockdown it’s put it all on pause so I now have to wait until it ends to be able to move 😢 xx
Fairly new to your channel but love your videos! Eeekkk home schooling, im trying it with a 10 and 7yr old with a 10 week old baby who has reflux. The first week was horrendous, feel like im finding my feet with it eventually.
Hi Rhi! Your new home is fab, I love how you decorated it all. We are in the middle of extending onto our home ( not able to actually do much due to lockdown)...adding on an extra bedroom with ensuite. I have 3 kids, and felt we needed the extra room as they are growing bigger, need more space. Then I watch your vlogs, and it looks like your new home is alot smaller than your old home (which was stunning btw) and I'm wondering, is there a method to the madness (lol) for moving into a smaller home, as the kids are getting bigger? And do you miss having an ensuite? X x
@@MummyofFourUK oh I see! I had a look through some of that comments on that vlog, and you have a child with autism too? We have 3 kids here, the eldest 20 (a Dylan also!) has tourettes syndrome, a.d.d and o.c.d......the second child 16, has autism, and a.d.h.d, and is transgender (quite common with kids with autism just an fyi). And our youngest is mostly okay, just very emotional and shes a bit if a brat....at 13 what child isnt! Getting diagnosis here in ireland is so long and drawn out, it takes years literally. We went private with the middle child, it's expensive. Thankfully the HSE (irish equivalent to NHS) paid for it though, as the child was classed as an urgent case. I'm grateful. All of that just to say, yes when you find a school they like, are happy in, you dont rock the boat! Ha! X x
I do try my best! I'm sure a few slip through, but I do like to reply to as many s I can. I'm genuinely grateful for every single view, like and comment as that supports my channel xx
Mummy of Four UK it makes it so much more enjoyable when we receive a reply. Everyone will respect you for that. You have a fab outlook on life as well as UA-cam. I hope this makes sense. I kno what I mean lol. Xxxxx.
We had WiFi put in during the renovations so that I could work in the house while the kids were in school, it took a while from booking to going live, about 3 weeks I think. And no, we still have lots to come from the old house, but only “things” not furniture I think
