I was very fortunate picking up a pair of these from a seller in Athens Georgia and I bought the speaker rephone kit on ebay and I'm going to do the same thing. Wish me luck! Those are some sweet speakers! They will shake the pictures off the wall, and the sound quality is superb.....i know why you love those speakers so much. If those where jbl in that condition they would be thousands of US dollars. Enjoy....
I have a pair of these exact same speakers and I'm wanting to sell them. Any idea what they're worth? I've had them for 28 years now (bought new) and they're still in OUTSTANDING shape with the black covers.
I have a pair of Infinity SM 100s (two-way with bass and tweeter). No sound comes from one of the bass speakers; the tweeter works. Problem is can't remove the faceplate to the "potentiometer" unit, if that's what it's called, because there are no screw holes like there are for the sm 152 you're showing. When I remove the bass speaker and stick my hand up through it to jiggle wires, it does not cause sound to come from bass speaker, but sometimes the tweeter sound cuts out. So how can I remove the faceplate to check the speaker connections? Is there a way to just bypass the potentiometer and connect the bass and bass speakers directly? In my 25 years of owning these, I've never used this knob to adjust the tweeter sound.Thanks for any suggestions. Not much on this model speaker on the internet.
paul suranski probably too late but heat the metal plate on the front of the controls with a heat gun and use a paint scraper to carefully remove it. You will see the screws.
Please, put some kind of glue into this loosen capacitor otherwise it gonna vibrate and produce sound and soon will have broken leads disconnecting one of your drivers
i once had the crimp connector that connected to the rear terminal of one of my vintage sony speakers break, i thought the amp had went into dc and blew it out. i checked the speaker first and thats all it was. funy thing is that the crossover is a capacitor that just floats around in the cabinet near the tweeter. i think i will glue it down when i get them out of storage so that does not happen!
MrTon4eff Tanks for the tip, i also thought it was not good that the thing was so loose.... forgot how the other speaker was looking but i am sure it was all glued tight...so thanks for the reminder, will do it soon.

Nice and easy. The question is how to do the Hi frequency pot? It is completely sealed and it is completely potted.

Hey, Andrew, I think you should glue that flying capacitor with some hot glue maybe.

You really need to spray some deoxit spray. Will get inside and clean the contacts the contacts are dirty air is not going to fix that. Deoxit. Spray

Use the spray DEOXIT D5 , it's speacially for pots , You can order it in Ebay
