Hi came across your videos by chance, I moved to Canada around 8 months ago, have been struggling to find job, I have 10 years of exp in IT as Management Consultant (no coding exp), I am looking at Cybersecurity as one of the career options. Do you think this late on career I can make a switch. Please help and reply
you can switch but you need to start from zero. Also I recommend you find a job in your field first, that’s your priority
so was the specialization actually "Phishing"?
security education and awareness
I have known people who actually do phish people. Does that count ?
I mean, its a start. I recommend you watch this video and do the cert to familiarise yourself with cyber security:
ua-cam.com/video/6LIUhx95MCU/v-deo.htmlsi=GwkJAQuPvVDQa2Pc
Could you advise where to begin in IAM specialisation, career opportunity and certs?
there are not many (if any), mainly experience.
Hlo Unix guy!
I'm a 17 year old wanting to pursue cybersecurity as a career and I've already enrolled into Google's Cybersecurity Certification Course.
could you please tell me that this certification from Google and Comptia Security + would be enough for me to get an entry level job or i need to have a College Degree as well (as i dont wanna go there at all)
Hey Aman, those certs will help but they’re a start, college can definitely help but it’s not a must! I explain it here in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/DRJic8vCodE/v-deo.html
@@UnixGuy Thanks! It was very informative

Dan is a lucky bastard 😅😋because he got to know you!
thanks for your kind words mate, you can make it happen!
@@UnixGuy Thank you for inspiring me.
One day I will tell story full story because I'm going through SO MUCH. From my Health to Family accords, to Finances. But not yet because I don't want to jinx it.
@@ruslanbedoev9264 Can't wait to hear all about it!!
Dan’s life is like mine…
I wanna switch line too, i decided not to pursue degree in supply chain after decades in the field with bad boss.
So may i know what are your thoughts on graduate diploma in cybersecurity and digital forensics? Totally zero knowledge but i keep searching like reading about cybersecurity. Thanks
yes it’s a good start! I’d say either way, a great way to get an introduction to cyber security and get a taste for the field is to do this certificate first:
ua-cam.com/video/6LIUhx95MCU/v-deo.html
@@UnixGuy and it came with chfi certificate from ec council or something.
I am trying to find internship as I am innmy penultimate year of study cyber security, however the chances are very blurs to get accepted. Plus the challenge is I don't know how and where to start...
start by searching through linkedin and applying to all possible jobs. Reach out to people who work in the companies u want to target and send them a message. We all start somewhere!
Dude Im 23y I have no experience in using computer although i want to learn cyber security, do think.if start today that I can get job easily after 1 to 2 years from now.
Or I spend that time learning programming .
yes you can! start by doing the courses that I recommend in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/rIOvsj7jBuQ/v-deo.html
I have a question do cyber security require you to know how code?
there are various specialisations within cyber security, some require coding but some don’t. I have a playlist of all specialisations i explain all of them, check it out: Cyber Security Specialisations

Hello! Thx for the video!
How hard is it to get remote cybersec US jobs living in other countries?
no worries at all! I’m not sure about the US labour laws, but you can work for a company like IBM for example and the work may be offshored elsewhere so your client be US-based
@@UnixGuy I see, thank you very much for your response. So it's not a common thing to happen? I'm a developer, and for front / back-end it's very common to get jobs in US or Europe living in other countries (even though you generally need to have good qualifications). Now I'm redirecting my career to cybersec, but I have no idea if it happens inside this area too because it's a more critical area.
@@paulopma I dont really know enough about immigration or labour laws in US/Europe :)
Ok, thank you for the replies :D

Is there any list of cybersecurity specifications you can advise?
yes

Gpt 4 entered the chat 😈😢
no idea what you’re trying say :)
Can you recommend any free beginner level certificate except (ISC2)
not really, they all come with a price tag, and the CC from ISC2 is not going to be free forever
@@UnixGuy I’m already enrolled in (ISC2) after watching your videos thanks man!
@@muhammadshawaizmalik7663 good luck! focus on it and pass it then think of the next step after

Hey! Brother what's About security consultant
the word ‘consultant’ refers to ‘providing professional advice’ so that can be anything from GRC to incident response to anything in between. The title is elusive and can refer to a number of different roles
@@UnixGuy thankyou 😍my brother.plz make a video about it
@@Sunny_0018 yep, meanwhile look at my ‘day in the life of a security consultant’ video
Hello Sir, I am from India.. I have experience in sales. I need a career change. So I am interested to join cybersecurity and doing online course. My Question is , Sir is there any chance that I could get a Job in USA in cybersecurity field from India directly
I’m not familiar with immigration laws in the US, your best bet is to find work in India as it will be easier
Sir, one more doubt....Is penetration testing + Ethical hacking a good career?? Becoz I am interested to go for this course within a month

CISA OR CISSP ? ANY ADVICE AND THANKS
no idea what you're trying to achieve. One is for auditing and the other is generic. CISSP is more popular.
worst thumbnail ever but great info as always
thanks! what about the thumbnail you don’t like? curious so I can improve future thumbnails :)
@@UnixGuy Its just strange, the only difference between the two is your expression, no relation to knowledge of knowing more. If you did something silly like put a graduation cap on, or held a certificate, it would have had more meaning.
Its minor though, whats important is the info which is great. I started the Google course off your recommendation, i want to transition from finance/accounting.
0:50 *(his HEALTH???) bruh, just tell us the certification already... GEEEEEZZZ!*
it is NOT a certification, the story IS the point, do what the guy did.
99% of people never get called for such an interview where they are nowhere near qualified and guided towards a future
did you make that statistic up? have ever interviewed anyone for a cyber security job?
Why is your intro talking about my life? 🫠 i appreciate this video a lot as a warehouse worker
