    Everyone knows how to start an activity using the upper-right button and to hit splits using the lower-right button. We also all know to then stop the timer when we finish our activity by hitting the upper-right button again. My question is this: where do I find my split times after finishing my activity and synching with Garmin Connect? I have the Garmin 6x sapphire. Thanks any/everyone!

    Does this manual lap entering work when auto lap feature is on or off, or work in either situation? In other words, will my watch enter my "real mile" lap (which I enter as I pass the mile marker), and then also add its own "perceived mile" lap? Thus ending the marathon with like 54 laps? Or does it "reset" each mile after I manually adjust the first mile?

      Great question! It works either way. If you press the manual lap button, it'll start tracking a new interval from the second you press that button. During the marathon, if you manually press the lap button while you cross each mile marker, you will have your mile splits for all 26.2 miles of the marathon. I would also ensure that your settings for logging distance are set to miles (since you can see the miles as you press the manual lap button!). I hope this helps!

    I find this a little confusing in that you are using ‘ miles ‘ as an example . Is it necessary for only miles or any interval lap distance ?
    Ie if I want to do 5* 1 mile with 2 min recoveries - can I just press the lap button at the start and end of each interval ( including the recoveries )

    • @runwithalli
      @runwithalli  4 дні тому

      You can change miles to km or meters even! The lap feature works for whichever distance you set the laps to. For example, if you see the lap feature to meters, every time you manually hit the lap button on your smartwatch (or auto-lap it) it'll be in meters. Yes, you can also manually press the lap button at the start and end of each mile interval (I suggest turning auto-lap off in that case).

      @@runwithalli thanks for your response . Could you clarify , as what I meant was when I press the lap button will it record the distance and time . I already have the auto miles switched on so it will show miles if I don’t use the lap button .
      But ie if I’m doing track session and doing say 4*800m off 1min recovery .
      Can I hit the lap button for each effort and then again for recovery continuously ? So that it will show the time and distance covered ? I don’t mind that it’s in miles just if it works in this way ?
      Regards

    Is there a way to view the saved lap times after the run is completed? Also can you track a different length lap? So if for example I'm running a marathon on a course that doesn't mark miles but has for example 6 loops of about 4.3 miles each and I want to click the lap button every time I complete a loop, is there a way to set that? Thanks!

      That data shows up in the Garmin Connect Dashboard on your desktop once you Save and Upload the run. In a marathon, if you manually press the Lap button (bottom right hand on the Fenix 6x for example), every mile marker, you will be able to see this data once you Save and Upload your run after you're finished! Every time you hit the Lap button, your watch will start a new interval after you press it. I hope this makes sense!

    i accidentally set laps on my garmin epix pro- how do I delete them ? Much appreciated

    • @runwithalli
      @runwithalli  Рік тому

      That's okay! You can fix this. Here's an interesting forum on this topic: forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-935/130132/using-the-lap-button-during-intervals; I would manually hit the lower right-hand button on your watch to time your splits for intervals. For example, if you are running 400-meter repeats, you press that button at the start of that interval, press it again at the end of it, and then do the same for each interval for that entire workout. Make sense?

    is there a way to see all of my previous laps during the workout? i only coud find menu that shows amount of laps but not the data(time, pace, etc). thanks!

      Yes! If you click on the button on the lower right side of the watch, it shows you the lap data (Whatever metric that is set to) versus the overall mileage and time.

    I have been searching for a way to manually lap my Forerunner 935. I have now learnt from this and other instruction that it is not possible to do so.
    My back button only says BACK and does not lap.
    I only have auto lap which is useful but not when wanting to run 1k repeats with 250 metre recoveries.

    • @runwithalli
      @runwithalli  5 місяців тому

      you could always save and upload the activity and then press "start" again so you can log your intervals :)

    If I’m done with and interval and I press the lap button but I also have auto pause on will that mess up my splits? Sometimes I like to jog for recovery and it unpauses. I feel like if I just press the pause button it would also mess my splits up

    • @runwithalli
      @runwithalli  Рік тому

      Hi there! Great question! It may. Unless you press the lap button at the exact same time you auto-pause your watch, there might be a discrepancy. Typically, when I use the lap feature for intervals, I press the lap button when I start and stop the interval and jog between the intervals. I don't play around with the auto pause button either. I hope this helps!

      I would look into the Settings feature on your watch to see why that's the case :) This can also depend on the model watch you have. This might be a helpful resource for ya! GPS is not and can’t be affected by the amount of people running.

    • @runwithalli
      @runwithalli  Рік тому

      GPS is affected (or can be affected) while running through urban areas, like the Chicago Marathon or NYC Marathon, since there are tall buildings that could throw off the accuracy of tracking your GPS. Also, little quirks, like not letting your GPS signal activate before starting your run, can throw things off. Here is a good article for easy reference from Garmin: support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=P3DdzRfgik3fky125aHsFA

    • @kmdsummon

      @@runwithalli GPS is affected by tall buildings - that’s true statement and I didn’t cover or say anything about this. GPS can be affected by the amount of people running - that’s false statement. I mentioned that in the comment.

      @@kmdsummon ohhh boy! I definitely did not mean to convey that information, and that came out the wrong way. Thanks for the catch! People do not deter how the GPS reads on our Garmin smartwatch employs satellite to track our activity in real-time and spit it out as real-time data :)
