I love how they paired Monique, the person with the calmest vibe ever in try guys, and Kwesi, the person more chaotic than Zach.
Imagine if they paired her with Jared. 😂 I would love to see that chaos.
@@HaejinnieI can already hear Jared screaming from all the stress.😂
@@miming7201 for real though! Lol
I would love to see this @@Haejinnie

Rachel: please try this time
Kwesi: but i try every time 😢
Man, I feel that incredibly deeply. It sucks to try your best when no one realizes how hard you're trying. 😿😿😿
@@nilawarriorprincess right! I didn't expect to get hit in the feels like
I always felt like Kwesi was trying his best. He has a passion for everything he does that I think is amazing!
the thing is I can always tell Kwesi is trying his best.
Kwesi as a sous chef to a Michelin star chef?
Try guys really going all out to create the most chaotic kitchen possible
they know we love it when they make chaotic kitchen shows
Next up: Roy Choi and Jared Popkin! Jared would drive Roy crazy and I’m here for it
I can see him go can I leave please 😂
This is a fantastic idea!
I want to see this but I immediately feel bad for Roy Choi 😅
While I already feel bad for Roy, this would be entertaining as heck
Oh that’s such a great idea. Rachel, can you make this happen?
Kwesi, the person who forgot the one important tip that his award-winning wife told him about croissants, as a sous chef? Yes, please!!
Hey he remembered about 50% of the tip!! He remembered it involved butter!! 😂😂
I was thinking about that the entire time 😂😂😂😂
This pilot already has my vote (right next to Zach's Trolley Problem pilot lol), it puts the Try back into the channel, and I think there is no greater joy (or comedy lol) than to watch a novice with zero experience to try to keep up with a professional!
tOTES THIS !! if we could have all then great, but this has my vote !!!
What i love abt this is theres no competiton so i can fully root for one person whos earnestly trying 🎉
At this point, Monique is pretty much part of the TryFam already too with how much she's willing to indulge these guys in whatever food-related shenanigans they have for her.
Kwesi is the toddering kid to Monique's patient teacher. This episode is frankly adorable and not as intense as I'd expect from a two-time Michelin award winner. Such a relaxed video for what it's about, really.
I just adore Monique. She’s so sweet and gentle. I would also expect a chef of her caliber to be very intense, but she’s so great
Shr's incredible!!!
her ability to de-escalate any scenario and ESPECIALLY whatever Kwesi throws is a testament to her skills
@@celticlass8573 Cool. So anyway, Monique has two Michelin stars.
@@celticlass8573 lol I've heard people call someone a "1/2/3 Michelin star chef" hundreds of times. In fact, I've heard the chefs call themselves that, or say "I have 1/2/3 Michelin stars." So, that's not a battle you're likely to win.
Kwesis partner being so genuinely shocked that he succeeded in making bonbons is so funny to me. He really isnt hamming it up for the camera, is he
Kwesi is a labrador retriever in human form. Good natured chaos.
Kwasi we didn’t THINK you were hamming it up, we HOPED.
I clicked ready for chaos and ended up getting some encouraging, heartfelt, Y'all can do anything you set your heart to vibes. Monique and Kwesi are a dream duo I never saw coming.
Yes! I thought exactly this
"'kay, I can do less, I can do less. Is that less?" "Nope!"
I’m only at 2:09, but I wanna say: I train people at every job I’ve ever had, and trying to train while working at a fast pace is a big fuckn challenge. I’m an expeditor and when we get busy there is absolutely no time to train; every second of my time is relegated to mental and physical organization of plates, calling hands, selling tickets, cleaning, garnishing, quality control, time management of every station in the kitchen, etc. Trying to train on top of doing something complicated and fast-paced is an added layer of stress, so before even watching this I wanna shout out the chef they have on.
Monique is so calm and amazing. She did such a great job with Kwesi. I applaud you as a trainer. I definitely don't have the patience to train in a fast-paced environment. I love to train in a classroom setting but not on the job.
She was so kind and patient with him! Way to go Kwesi, your bonbons looked SO good!
Kwesi was so proud handing his chocolates to his wife, like a kid handing a handmade Mother's Day card to their mom, as he should have been! We're very proud of you Kwesi, they looked beautiful and delicious!
When Kwesi put the torch near the towel my heart rate shot up, and I was saying "no no no no no no!" at the screen.
timestamp ?
@@danielleking2624:50
@@c.maria.a ah, thank you! I didn't realize he was near the towel (hard to see white on white) I thought he was near the silver cup thing! No wonder Monica pulled the towel away so quickly 😂🤦♀️
I honestly love when y'all bring Monique, she's so sweet like 11:01 is so nice of her
Yessss she's great. I'm glad she continues to lend her expertise for these videos.
Loved the interaction btw her & Kwesi!
She has enough experience to know that you're only as strong as the weakest person in the kitchen. Support in those situations where someone is in the weeds not only shows her character, but shows the knowledge she has of how a successful kitchen is run.
what else has she been in? I wanted her reaction to his croissants so bad lol
Seeing Kwesi so serious is such a huge respect to Monique. Hats off to them both
I love how seriously Kwesi took every step of this recipe! Also tempering chocolate on your first attempt?? That's damn impressive!
We want more Monique on the channel!
Yes!
Yaaaaaaaaaas!
More monique pleaseeeeee
Monique is sooo calm and collected. Love her zen energy paired with Kwesi's chaotic energy
Yes. This was smart. Because idk how Jonny would handle teaching him 😂😂😂
Hope Jonny teaches Marissa though!
Kwesi wearing his "chocolate makes me thirsty" cap while making chocolate 😂
Didn't notice that! 😂
Monique was such a great teacher and honestly Kwesi did PHENOMENAL. Awesome job Kwesi 🥳
EASILY the best show of pilot month. Not even close. What a joy to finally have excellence brought into the Try Guys kitchen and not just the idiot side. Even with Phoning It In they are still not in the kitchen; it was such a delight to watch an expert do their work. And Kwesi was the PERFECT person to fill that role. No one is more earnest
when i first saw the thumbnail i thought, “oh this is going to be a mess” but i was actually so surprised at how kwesi followed all of monique’s instructions actually pretty decently considering his cooking skills LOL he just seemed eager to do well and learn and it seemed like he had a lot of fun at the end! i loved this!!!
Courtney being so genuinely shocked he made the bonbons is hilarious😂
This really shows what a difference having good instruction can make! I would've loved to see a little bit of commentary from Monique after the fact-e.g., discussing what went wrong with the ganache. Making caramel can be tricky and even counter-intuitive, especially when you haven't done it before, so it would've been really interesting to discuss that a little.
This was literally just so good. I can't believe how hard it is to make bonbons (as i've never see the process) and Kwesi pulling through and Monique being a 10/10 teacher was just so cool to watch!
Not that I don't love without a recipe, but I'm so glad they're doing food shows that involve actually learning to cook instead of just being pure chaos
A triumph for Monique and Kwesi both🙌 I was pretty nervous about the outcome, candy making is a pretty exact science. I breathed a sigh of relief when Kwesi's wife gave her thumbs up of approval 😂
I'm going to second someone else's comment and request we get a Roy Choi and Jared Popkin one next😁
monique is such a great teacher, she has just the right amount of patience and guides kwesi’s energy so perfectly i love it
If this is a part of the pilot month, I would love to have more of these. Happy Easter, people.
I love how Monique started really strict, making clear she wasn't really fooling around and if he wanted to actually do it she would not wait for him, but she's a really great teacher! Along with the trolley show this already has me hooked!
i know people are focusing on kwesi and monique, but lets take a minute to appreciate the fact that kwesi made it for his wife? like that's so sweet of him 🥹
Petition to create some new series where Monique is always present 😅
Seeing the genuine joy on Kwesi's face every time he succeeds at something in the kitchen is so wholesome. I honestly got teary-eyed a little when he saw the final product.
10/10 moni was a sweet yet strict instructor- you can really see how skilled she is. Kwezi is chaotic but sincere (and fun) + his Bon bons looked amazing for just about anyone's first try. Awesome balance! Much like a bonbon!
The interns are versatile species. They always have the capacity to transform into any creature they want to transform into.
Kwesi did amazing! And Monique is such a great teacher! The ghosts effect on her had me rolling though🤣
Monique is maybe the calmest chef I have ever seen on screen 😊
Should’ve told Kwesi he was signing up for bicep day 😭 but did he kill it or what ??! YESSSS CHEF ! 🍫✨
One thing I really like about this channel is how the guys are legitimately trying to do well. Crazy ideas, sure, but you actually want to make them work and not make trash on purpose just to get a funny reaction. This is a good video where Kwesi takes it seriously and does a pretty good job. Thanks!
Was lucky enough to work for a Chef who worked at The French laundry under Chef Thomas Keller. It was a privilege and honor to serve thier food. What an absolutely romantic gift for Kwesi to cook for his wife and to have such a brilliant chef teach him. Truly one of the best Try Guys episode I've ever watched. Signed the Hippo's old lady GenXer. Ya'll this is your gen's using the internet powers for greatness.
yay more chef monique!!! i love her calm vibes and the way she talks. also loooove this dynamic between her and the chaotic kwesi 😂
You can tell what a good teacher Monique is by how good Kwesi's bonbons turned out!
this was so incredible to watch. I don't think I've ever been more proud of Kwesi than when he turned those molds over and his bonbons came out perfectly. 🥰Monique is a fantastic teacher and I'd love to see this pairing again! 😃
It’s neat to see the whole process explored without it being cut off to meet the deadline. That feels weirdly true to life. Anyone who is trying a recipe or technique for the first time will inevitably end up in overtime going “How do people DO this so fast??” It gives me appreciation for the skill while also making the recipe feel accessible. An amateur CAN make this…….it’s just really dang hard.
I was honestly expecting much more chaos than what was delivered. I think that really goes to show the talent of Monique's patient teaching coupled with Kwesi's desire to do a good job. This was a really great episode and a fun pilot!
Tempering is SOOOO HARD
That's sth to be super proud about Kwesi!
Right, after watching loads of test kitchen videos, I know how hard it is to temper chocolate. Kwesi killed that!
Love how positive Monique is
This is really fun and wholesome!! I love the balance of Monique keeping things moving and relatively on track while still having enough room and patience for Kwesi's learning.
kwesi: "I'm tempered? I'm tempered!"
the opposite of vexed 😂
I really loved this!! I'm a big fan of yall having a show with more genuine learning/teaching and less bits. Nothing wrong with the other cooking shows yall have (I love them seriously new season of phoning it in WHEN?) but I like how different this is compared to your other cooking shows!! Also I love Monique
Yes, something about just them genuinely focusing on cooking rather than being agents of chaos makes this pilot so great. I adore Monique too
Monique is incredibly patient and Kwesi takes this so seriously.
That countdown clock has been doing WORK in these latest videos
I love watching chocolatiers work, they make it look so easy.
I am really in love with this show idea. I think Kwesi did incredible, and Monique was really kind and patient with him. Even though I'm sure it was incredibly stressful for them, this gave a much less chaotic vibe than WAR, and I like that for a change of pace (love WAR, just never enjoyed the seemingly lack of time to actually make a lot of things). As someone that also would never personally attempt this kind of thing, this made it seem possible. Obviously it's not top tier quality, but for being someone that doesn't do stuff like that? I couldn't believe how well Kwesi was able to follow along and the end result I think was definitely 10/10.
Tbh, after the scandal happened with try guys. The quality of videos are sooooo good. So calming, so real, and no hard acting unlike .... I love it!!!
Monique in instructor mode is a sight to be hold. So calm.
This was so sweet and wholesome!! Monique is that strict teacher who pushes you hard but only because she believes in your potential
Kwesi"s bon bons looked great!! Monique is a great teacher
monique is such an incredible person! loved this video concept
Monique was being so patient for a two stared Michelin Chef. You can see the entire change in her person when she gets serious cooking!
These two together is such a great match, Monique is amazing as always 🥰
Love Monique and Kwesi!!
Kwesi, you did a fantastic job! Your wife is lovely 🙂
Monique is so chill, lol! Love her!
I'm so proud of Kwesi and so happy to watch Monique lead with a lot of contrast from the clips rolled in for head chef characters. It was really engaging to watch Kwesi visually try hard but still be himself and to watch Monique being really informative, realistic, and encouraging :). Great casting duo!! And Courtney's reaction at the end was awesome--I'm surprised!
This was so good Kwesi did such a good job. I'd love to see Jared attempting to do something with a Michelin chef.
Monique is a badass, Kwesi is awesome, Rachel is a trooper with the patience of a saint, Courtney is STUNNING ❤❤❤❤ another banger!
We love Monique in this household!!!
I’m actually really glad it worked out for kwesi and Monique!
man, they're both such good sports about this
I LOVE THESE NEW PILOTS RACHEL!!!!! It's gonna be an amazing season of the try guys, I can already tell... Please give us some more, we love you!!!
I love this so much! Tempering chocolate is so hard and I'm so impressed with Kwesi being able to do it and his wife's reaction at the end was priceless. I love Monique and she was one of my favorite judges on WAR
I would love to see more episodes of these with Kwesi and Monique doing other pastries together!!
This format is FANTASTIC!! Please do more like this!
Being trained in a kitchen and having someone cooking or baking with you that’s not trained is such a testing of patience. It sort of feels like working with a child. I suppose being trained in anything and having someone that has no clue working with you is like that. I give Monique such credit for doing this. Teaching is so hard and big credit to teachers too. And credit to anyone willing to learn. Dang, this video really opened my eyes. I wasn’t ready for this today ❤
Please give us more Kwesi + Monique! This was absolute perfection!! Please please please give us moreee of them!
I am so proud of them both ❤ if I was either of them, I would just cry
I’ve worked with many professional chefs and her ability to stay calm is so impressive to me
Monique is so sweet and patient! Kwesi is so genuine and fun! Love the teaching aspect too, with just a touch of chaos ❤
tempering chocolate on the first episode???
Anyone else hear Johnny Cake voice saying…Oh no, Oh no we are using chocolate melts.
I think this was such a phenomenal video, hats off to both Monique and Kwesi! This was also such a brilliant way to show that while making Michelin food at home can be done, it's still tedious work and incredibly technical, no wonder Kwesi said he would just buy them instead of going through the trouble of making them again, despite doing so well. I have so much respect for Monique for being so thorough in her instructions and making such quality sweets at the same time, that's so impressive! Those bonbons must be worth every cent and I have a newfound respect for anyone in the food service industry.
Kwesi training arc lets go 🙌🏾
Monique got amazing results while being firm, but kind. The Bear could learn a thing or two from her 🤣
Monique is so kind, its truly incredible to learn from someone who believes in you
Omg poor Kwesi he is taking this so seriously XD
Yay, love to see Monique back! I really enjoy her vibe and personality.
I want this to be longer
Yes, more Monique! She's so professional and cool in the kitchen!
Kwesi those chocolates came out of their mold BEAUTIFUL and the loud crunch when Courtney was eating them was so perfect you NAILED the tempering, incredible work for working with chocolate for the first time !!
11:45
kwesi: i-is that less?
monique: nope 😀
Kwesi's look to camera as he turns on the blowtorch 😅😅😅
Kwesi mebtioned in the croissant episode of without a recipe that Courtney won a croissant conpetition in Paris which suggests she has some sort of culonary background or at least knows a lot about food. Knowing that adds even more weight to her reaction because she seemed genuinely impressee
WHAT WOULD'VE MADE THIS PERFECT & HILARIOUS, is once finishing w Monique, Kwesi had to turn around and be the head chef to a new sous chef. See if he remembered.
I LOVED seeing this pilot tho. Kwesi, Monique, & Courtney did fabulously together. For balance, it would've been nice to get something more after the finishing touches of building. Would've loved more discussion on the experience, like someone else said maybe more commentary from Monique about the breakdown of the pitfalls or narrow misses, maybe her reaction to his try. Something more than done & over.
Ok this is so cool! Kwesi is such a trouper and his enthusiasm is infectios. Monique is also so sweet! Now to try making these myself...
Survived is the perfect word. Kwesi did so good!!! Monique is an angel
Kwesi did such a good job! And Monique as usual was amazing! This was a fantastic pairing and I had so much fun watching Monique at work creating such beautiful bonbons.
