I think it’s really cool how when Jonny said “I knocked the thing…” Keith corrected it and said “the oven fell” so that it didn’t really put the blame on anyone while still being cognizant of the situation. It’s very admirable how good of a leader he is
I've noticed that Keith gets very heated in the smallest things like the gay menu but when it comes to the big things he's able to approach it with a calm energy

Lol I work Back of House in a flower shop and that was so accurate. Front of House will come back on a busy day and be like "There's a customer up front who wants XYZ" and I've literally said "Does there have to be?"
I have literally said that before when a table walked in 15 minutes before close.
I worked at Domino's during the pandemic and eventually worked my way to manager before leaving. Fast forward to the other night when I had a bad craving for pizza at about 10 pm, ordered and they called and told me they had no drivers. Did I believe it? No! Did I get it? 100%😂 Had so many nights where I wished I could have said no😂😂

I want to give Keith credit for how he reacted when the oven fell. He handled it so well! Very respectful and kind yet still in charge. Exactly what a leader should do.
YES! He didn't get upset or freak out, just handled it.
And he was so sweet when Zach asked what happened. Johnny started to say “I knocked the oven over” and Keith interrupted and said “it fell.” He clearly didn’t want Johnny to feel like it was his fault or that he was the bad guy for something that was in a precarious position to begin with.
He's going to be such an awesome dad when accidents happen, you can just tell ❤

The adoption of Jonny Cakes as an unofficial Try Guy really has been such a great move for the channel to make. I’ve always loved the channel, but loosing the dead weight and gaining a whole new group of fantastic new personalities has really made it easy for me to watch and rewatch the newer videos. Great job, Guys!

Everyone's talking about how Keith was so calm over the oven situation, but can we give some credit to Kwesi who was going around as a wild card and as soon as that happened, he jumped in to turn off the gas? That was so important to make sure nothing worse happened.

This is a carbon copy of one of the best parts of the Top Chef season: Restaurant Wars! And to be clear, that's not. a knock - I love the concept and I'm genuinely impressed at what they were able to pull off in 24 hours.
As a server, Keith makes a great chef, he even acts like the chefs I work with, lol. The right attitude, keep going when shit goes wrong and he’s tough about it. He’d kill it in a restaurant.

This video tickled me so much. There were so many great moments. From the restaurant's concept development, to the tomato paste, to the pizza slices vs. centrifugal force, to the oven falling, to the chemistry amongst everyone amidst the absolute chaos. Doing everything with only one small oven was also a very bold choice. I feel like I was watching a live-action game of Overcooked. I get about as worked up as Keith when I play so props to everyone for keeping it so chill when it really mattered. Towards the end when they were reflecting about how surprised they were about how much they actually cared was also super cute, I hope everyone still loves each other lmao.

The mass chaos of this all is giving family owned restaurants vibes. Keith and Zach bickering, Zach still actively trying decide if it’s a gay restaurant right up to the opening, Kwesi pronouning the name of the restaurant 5 different ways, the scrambling for things to work up until the last minute. Might be the best video of 2024 so far.

This was one of my favorite try guys videos of all time. The chaos was unmatched. Maybe I'm biased as a career server/resturant manager but there were moment upon moment of relatable footage. I'm honestly so proud of this whole team for being able to go through this process without giving up? 10/10

It would have been easy for Keith to go crazy like he does when he loses food challenges for comedy sake, but it was wholesome seeing Keith just reassure Jonny it was all good and they all fixed the issue together.

Also major props to Keith and Kwesi for keeping extremely calm and safety oriented during the oven incident. Champs. Keith's tough but fair leadership style the entire time really pushed service through. Love that we got to see his management style vs the hectic facade we usually see.

I love how it felt like Keith was genuinely stressed out this whole video, not just doing his angry bit. Then when it did actually go wrong he immediately snapped out of it and into problem solving mode.
Calm, logical thinking to mitigate danger. Reassuring Johnny it’s okay and doesn’t blame him because, hey, accidents happen. And when Zach asks what happened, he didn’t throw Johnny under the bus, took accountability as a team, and recognizing the important thing is to move forward.
I’ve worked all different kinds of jobs with many different kinds and levels of stress and pressure, and I can tell you that not a lot of people can react like that. Especially when they were already in a heightened level of stress.

It's actually amazing what Keith and Johnny were able to accomplish with one tiny (subpar) pizza oven. With a full-sized pizza oven they would have been unstoppable!

i'm also definitely feeling ick after last week's tryplog. they were in the storage unit and desiree was explaining the organization and sign in/out system for the kitchen stuff. the guys are saying how much they'd love to raid it for their own dinners, and desiree is like 'as long as you use the sign out sheet!' and keith goes 'i think i can get away with it'. totally earnestly. like, fuck the employees and the work they're doing for the success of your company, because you're the boss you can disrespect the work they do to make sure your company is running?
just feels very 'i'm a white man and as long as i laugh after i do something shitty, it's fine'. it seems like they've seen booting red as their social good with the company, and now they can just do whatever they want. promote known unethical companies (betterhelp and purina/nestle), be rude to their staff? it's fine, because they did an internal review around a singular person 18 months ago. and they're 'the good guys'.
feels to me like they've gotten really comfortable just being seen as 'the good guys' and they're expecting to get away with some ick things because of it. and this is just one more straw on the camel's back from where i'm standing.
