the moment where zach tells keith a table wants another pizza and keith says “can we say no?” is actually the most accurate food service moment i’ve ever seen
Lol I work Back of House in a flower shop and that was so accurate. Front of House will come back on a busy day and be like "There's a customer up front who wants XYZ" and I've literally said "Does there have to be?"
I worked at Domino's during the pandemic and eventually worked my way to manager before leaving. Fast forward to the other night when I had a bad craving for pizza at about 10 pm, ordered and they called and told me they had no drivers. Did I believe it? No! Did I get it? 100%😂 Had so many nights where I wished I could have said no😂😂
I've worked in a restaurant, and can 100% say that the ONLY one of them I would ever want to work with in one is Keith. Literally keeping that shit going.
I think it’s really cool how when Jonny said “I knocked the thing…” Keith corrected it and said “the oven fell” so that it didn’t really put the blame on anyone while still being cognizant of the situation. It’s very admirable how good of a leader he is
I've noticed that Keith gets very heated in the smallest things like the gay menu but when it comes to the big things he's able to approach it with a calm energy
Jamie is trying carrying on Eugene’s essence in this video. The chaos and challenge! The whole time Jamie’s in this I’m laughing at his choice to order the whole menu 😂
I want to give Keith credit for how he reacted when the oven fell. He handled it so well! Very respectful and kind yet still in charge. Exactly what a leader should do.
And he was so sweet when Zach asked what happened. Johnny started to say “I knocked the oven over” and Keith interrupted and said “it fell.” He clearly didn’t want Johnny to feel like it was his fault or that he was the bad guy for something that was in a precarious position to begin with.
THIS!! Seeing how stressed he was already before it happened, I was so scared for a melt down. I loved how he never even blamed Johnny and instead gave clear/stern instructions on how to fix it/be safe, and reassure the team that everything was okay 🥹❤️🩹
the cooks "dinging" more loudly and more intensely each time while the FOH are running around doing other bits and not taking out the food is sooo accurate
Everyone's talking about how Keith was so calm over the oven situation, but can we give some credit to Kwesi who was going around as a wild card and as soon as that happened, he jumped in to turn off the gas? That was so important to make sure nothing worse happened.
Kwesi looked incredible in that tan suit and he was so calm when the oven went down and he had to turn off the gas. I'm so glad he's joined the channel.
The adoption of Jonny Cakes as an unofficial Try Guy really has been such a great move for the channel to make. This whole video feels like Without A Recipe - Group Project edition. The editing and everything was just so funny. I hope we get to see more of “We Made a 5-Star ________ In Our Office”!!
This is a carbon copy of one of the best parts of the Top Chef season: Restaurant Wars! And to be clear, that's not. a knock - I love the concept and I'm genuinely impressed at what they were able to pull off in 24 hours.
Watching Keith handle the oven incident shows how great of a dad he will be. Very patient, understanding and didn’t place blame. I wish there were more people like that in bad situations ❤
28:29 Keith: (immediately, calmly) “Turn off the gas.”👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Not a hint of panic. Very impressed with Keith’s leadership. In this episode and in the last year.
I disagree. He repeated it very quickly 7 times. Just because it was said in a low voice, dosent make it calm. Im pretty sure they heard him the first time he said it.
@@tylerfancitoif people are in fight or flight, that literally means they’re panic. Those are panic responses. The moment was pure panic, from everyone. It was just quiet panic.
Keith is known for having the most dramatic freak outs when it's funny. But then being the calm assertive voice of reason when it truly matters is amazingly attractive 😂😂
Them not telling Rachel about the pizza oven is basically the equivalent of kids not telling their mom that they broke something. Which confirms that Rachel is THE mom 😂😂😂😂
The mass chaos of this all is giving family owned restaurants vibes. Keith and Zach bickering, Zach still actively trying decide if it’s a gay restaurant right up to the opening, Kwesi pronouning the name of the restaurant 5 different ways, the scrambling for things to work up until the last minute. Might be the best video of 2024 so far.
I know that we always see Keith blathering in (fake) anger when it comes to those cooking contests he loses but its nice to see how calm and cool he is when shit really goes down ala ovengate 2024.
Right? He kept me feeling sane throughout the video, and I was like "oh, Keith being angry is just a bit and he's actually chill." It was also super cute when Zach admitted he really cared how it was going and Keith said he did too
I love how it felt like Keith was genuinely stressed out this whole video, not just doing his angry bit. Then when it did actually go wrong he immediately snapped out of it and into problem solving mode. Calm, logical thinking to mitigate danger. Reassuring Johnny it’s okay and doesn’t blame him because, hey, accidents happen. And when Zach asks what happened, he didn’t throw Johnny under the bus, took accountability as a team, and recognizing the important thing is to move forward. I’ve worked all different kinds of jobs with many different kinds and levels of stress and pressure, and I can tell you that not a lot of people can react like that. Especially when they were already in a heightened level of stress. Mad respect for him. Henry is so lucky to have a dad like Keith.
It's actually amazing what Keith and Johnny were able to accomplish with one tiny (subpar) pizza oven. With a full-sized pizza oven they would have been unstoppable!
Keith in the backwards hat being such a good leader throughout was such a vibe 🔥 Also seeing Becky with the stroller made me shed a tear ngl, our Keith is a dad now!!!
I don't like their vibes tbh lol Idk if it's the editing but even in the magician videos they seemed kinda rude. Jamie as a kid was so much better to watch lol
I absolutely love how Keith was really showing leadership skills and made sure even when Johnny messed up on something that he was okay and reassured him everything is alright
The way I got more scared for them when Jaime and friends showed up than I was for the MICHELIN STAR CHEFS!!!! Jaime is BRUTAL! He lets NOTHING slide lol
I love Jamie, he knows exactly how to push the buttons of the boys. Also, super fun to see him go from cute little kid clearly being styled by his parents or something to, just, a normal, big, growing teenager 💙
Watching Keith under pressure is magic. Johnny going, "I broke the oven! 😭" and Keith saying, "the oven fell." Because he knows blame isn't helpful. He's gotta be just as stressed as Johnny, and probably kinda pissed off, but stressing Johnny out by emphasizing *who* broke it isn't going to make the restaurant run any smoother. Peak management style, Keith! ❤❤❤ *chef's kiss*
Keith and Kwesi were great in a crisis. Reacted quickly and calmly. Keith giving commands and Kwesi reacting. Both telling Johnny it's okay. Love that!
It was a burn i could have never thought of myself and then immediately felt bc i liked the vibes of the restaurant and they just called me old and outdated 😅
Poor Jonny, you can tell he felt so bad when the oven fell. I'd love to see him put the others into a kitchen and really make a pizza with all the quality ingredients, budget etc etc. The Bee Gay seemed like a great pizza!
I never worked on a restaurant or anything similar but I just know Kwesi's "let me check that with the chef but I never checked with him" is top tier restaurant worker knowledge 😂 congrats to all on your hardwork!
This was such a great video 😂 the teenagers giving the vibes a 3 and then saying the restaurant was Millennial core was sooo funny. Kwesi’s ability to stay calm is also hilarious 😂
I'm a little confused as to what he meant by that, maybe cuz I'm a millennial. Kinda wish they would've elaborated on that, like was it the decor they didn't like? I'm just curious because I felt like they (Try Guys) went with what I see typically in any restaurant I go to, what would Jaime and his friends have done differently?
i thought it was rlly cute regardless :) just a style we've seen before & urban outfitters esc vibes go hand in hand w millennial core bc they're the only ppl who can afford lol, atl thats my interpretation@@mistressthorn
I love how everyone has a distinct role in this video. Zach is absolutely the hire for personality, meanwhile Keith is channeling his inner “The Bear.”
I felt like Keith was being an asshole and I really didn’t like it. But I think it’s not just this video that’s giving me the ick, I think I was already getting the ick, and that it was just really obvious in this video.
@@AleksandarBell see, this is the thing. it's not feeling like a bit anymore. it's feeling like we're starting to see through the cracks of who keith really is. i've never complained about him melting down when he loses WAR, yeah, that's a funny bit. but the CONSTANT 'i'm the boss and even if i like to pretend i'm not most of the time' isn't funny to me anymore. i'm also definitely feeling ick after last week's tryplog. they were in the storage unit and desiree was explaining the organization and sign in/out system for the kitchen stuff. the guys are saying how much they'd love to raid it for their own dinners, and desiree is like 'as long as you use the sign out sheet!' and keith goes 'i think i can get away with it'. totally earnestly. like, fuck the employees and the work they're doing for the success of your company, because you're the boss you can disrespect the work they do to make sure your company is running? just feels very 'i'm a white man and as long as i laugh after i do something shitty, it's fine'. it seems like they've seen booting red as their social good with the company, and now they can just do whatever they want. promote known unethical companies (betterhelp and purina/nestle), be rude to their staff? it's fine, because they did an internal review around a singular person 18 months ago. and they're 'the good guys'. feels to me like they've gotten really comfortable just being seen as 'the good guys' and they're expecting to get away with some ick things because of it. and this is just one more straw on the camel's back from where i'm standing.
@@AleksandarBell but maybe i'm just triggered because i've worked for a lot of people that think that not outright abusing people means that they're treating them well. like, no one deserves a cookie for not verbally or sexually abusing your staff. that's the bare minimum.

Working in the restaurant, I totally understand Keith's responses. When you're weeded af and people are just lollygagging around, that can be so triggering 😂
I love how the try guys went from just trying anything to trying what they want to do the most. I suppose it's the point of trying? BRAVO and KUDOS and more please
This video tickled me so much. There were so many great moments. From the restaurant's concept development, to the tomato paste, to the pizza slices vs. centrifugal force, to the oven falling, to the chemistry amongst everyone amidst the absolute chaos. Doing everything with only one small oven was also a very bold choice. I feel like I was watching a live-action game of Overcooked. I get about as worked up as Keith when I play so props to everyone for keeping it so chill when it really mattered. Towards the end when they were reflecting about how surprised they were about how much they actually cared was also super cute, I hope everyone still loves each other lmao.
I first worked as waitstaff when I was fourteen years old. The experience was so traumatic that I have vowed to never work in an establishment that focuses on serving food or drinks unless I have literally no other choice. It has been almost a decade since I made that decision and I have stood by it. Food service is such a nightmare. It is exhausting. It takes such a toll on your body and mind, I have such huge respect for anyone and everyone who works in that industry because it is one of the most fatiguing and thankless things you can do for work.
This was one of my favorite try guys videos of all time. The chaos was unmatched. Maybe I'm biased as a career server/resturant manager but there were moment upon moment of relatable footage. I'm honestly so proud of this whole team for being able to go through this process without giving up? 10/10

I do want to see them make a 5-star Brunch restaurant. I think that would be fun
Watching Keith handle the oven incident shows how great of a dad he will be. Very patient, understanding and didn’t place blame. I wish there were more people like that in bad situations ❤
28:29 Keith: (immediately, calmly) “Turn off the gas.”👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Not a hint of panic. Very impressed with Keith’s leadership. In this episode and in the last year.
And Kwesi calmly but quickly going over and doing it!
I disagree. He repeated it very quickly 7 times. Just because it was said in a low voice, dosent make it calm. Im pretty sure they heard him the first time he said it.
@@book_cake4tbh, everyone was kinda shocked, flight, fight or freeze still exists. sometimes people can't process words or sentences when in shock.
@@book_cake4lol seriously. It was literally pure panic.
@@tylerfancitoif people are in fight or flight, that literally means they’re panic. Those are panic responses. The moment was pure panic, from everyone. It was just quiet panic.
Zach felt the fear of going to the chef and asking for a re-do. Even down to the stance
Johnny going “is it REALLY!!?” When someone said the food was good was so perfectly funny
Keith is known for having the most dramatic freak outs when it's funny. But then being the calm assertive voice of reason when it truly matters is amazingly attractive 😂😂
Keith is such a “theatre kid/restaurant waiter” coded person that it was v interesting to see him as a slightly unhinged line cook
Them not telling Rachel about the pizza oven is basically the equivalent of kids not telling their mom that they broke something.
Which confirms that Rachel is THE mom 😂😂😂😂
And then of course they forgot to hide the evidence and she found out anyway 😂
@@mariapizzaaEX 👏🏼 ACT 👏🏼 LY 👏🏼 😂😂😂
The mass chaos of this all is giving family owned restaurants vibes. Keith and Zach bickering, Zach still actively trying decide if it’s a gay restaurant right up to the opening, Kwesi pronouning the name of the restaurant 5 different ways, the scrambling for things to work up until the last minute. Might be the best video of 2024 so far.
" if the pizza restaurant destroys the friendship then the friendship was meant to be destroyed" was so real to the service industry
I know that we always see Keith blathering in (fake) anger when it comes to those cooking contests he loses but its nice to see how calm and cool he is when shit really goes down ala ovengate 2024.
Right? He kept me feeling sane throughout the video, and I was like "oh, Keith being angry is just a bit and he's actually chill." It was also super cute when Zach admitted he really cared how it was going and Keith said he did too
Yes!! He did so well with Ovengate. Cool as a cucumber!
Keith’s reaction to Ovengate solidified my belief that he’ll be a great dad.
He is a great dad! Henry!
he’s so calm! he’s the dad of the try guys
Henry is so lucky to have a dad like Keith.
i was literally thinking this!! you worded it perfectly
It was so wholesome!! Keith being a great friend and not being mad or anything to Johnny!! This comment is so perfect ❤
Honestly, as a restaurant rat myself, they did pretty well. My favorite part was how spot on they got the BOH and FOH dynamic down so perfectly😂
Everyone should work at a restaurant at least once in their life to really appreciate the industry.
100%
We have the same name!
Say it louder for the people in the back XD
THIS
My social anxiety could never 😂
It's actually amazing what Keith and Johnny were able to accomplish with one tiny (subpar) pizza oven. With a full-sized pizza oven they would have been unstoppable!
Keith in the backwards hat being such a good leader throughout was such a vibe 🔥
Also seeing Becky with the stroller made me shed a tear ngl, our Keith is a dad now!!!
the moment starting at 29:26 between keith and zach is so sweet and funny 😂 “and maybe… she never will”
Like two boys agreeing not to tell mom 😂
JAMIE AND THE SCARY TEENAGE BOYS MADE A COMEBACK I'm crying 😂 great job everyone! y'all busted ass and it shows 👏🏼
I don't like their vibes tbh lol Idk if it's the editing but even in the magician videos they seemed kinda rude. Jamie as a kid was so much better to watch lol
lol nah that’s just how teenagers are lmao. if he was genuinely rude i’m sure the guys wouldn’t invite him back
Makes me feel so old to see little Jamie as a teen.
Jamie is the same age as my daughter and both of their vibes match 😂
he was more feminine vs now
"ding, motherf****r! ding!"
That killed me 😂
I absolutely love how Keith was really showing leadership skills and made sure even when Johnny messed up on something that he was okay and reassured him everything is alright
I love how seriously Johnny and Keith took this challenge compared to Zach and kwesi 😂😂
Also Jamie 😂🤌
Theyre such a good combo 🤣🤣
@@kasturii.05 I was like I hope Jamie returns one day and here he is along with his buddies. So funny this episode, too bad no reunion with Eugene 😢
this is the most accurate representation of how working in the restaurant industry is and how it can very easily ruin friendships for 24 hours 🤣
When the pizza stone broke and Keith and zach agreed to not tell Rachel 😂 total mom and two idiot sons energy
I love how when Zach said he did the accent and Johnny instantly said, “you now have to commit to it” 😆
The chemistry of these four is undeniable
The pitch:
Rachel: There is no way it can get more chaotic than Without a Recipe
Zach and Keith: Hold our beers
This is giving 4 people in a class project that’s giving way to many ideas, and can’t decide. Then they split of and fight over the ideas.
Love that!
Kwesi is terribly underrated in this video! He was fantastic!
"Millennial core" is a fantastic way for the teens to make fun of you 😂
It was a burn i could have never thought of myself and then immediately felt bc i liked the vibes of the restaurant and they just called me old and outdated 😅
As a millennial, I don’t know what that means and decided they just wanted to roast the guys.
My millennial husband and I CACKLED when he said that. It’s such a burn, but it’s also so true 😂
Kwesi’s ability to stay calm is also hilarious 😂
and all millennials rating the vibe 5 stars 😂😭
@@peacechickificationIt’s a bit? It’s always been a bit
28:16 Johnny must be drunk or something 😂 He’s drinking wine instead of checking the pizzas, he’s on his phone, and then he knocks the whole pizza oven down. I love it 😂
Yes Mr. Cakes was definitely tipsy lol
One of my favorite videos from you guys ever. So good
Right? It ended and I immediately turned it back on to watch it again
@@fzzypurpleturtleI’m glad I’m not the only one who re-watches their stuff consistently!!
Agree, an original too. 10/10 content. As a Try Guys Fan, this one is up there! Felt like Family, if that makes any sense.
Working in the restaurant, I totally understand Keith's responses. When you're weeded af and people are just lollygagging around, that can be so triggering 😂
honestly big BoH vs FoH vibes 🥲
@@dag__hag it’s so true 😂
"Millennial-core" is such a Genz thing to say 😂😂
At this point the word has no meaning, because there is no rhyme or reason to how they use it.
Also calling things "core" is getting very old!
@@sandpiperr you seem offended.
@@sandpiperrwomp womp
I love how the try guys went from just trying anything to trying what they want to do the most. I suppose it's the point of trying? BRAVO and KUDOS and more please
Secretly being the operations manager is oldest daughter energy lol
The eat the menu editing for Jared eating the pizza is top tier
Zach: “if the pizza restaurant destroys our friendship, that means it was meant to be destroyed.”
Truer words 🙌🏼
I love how kwesi was the only not stressed throughout the whole thing. I aspire to be that chill bc in reality I am Keith lmao
Keith’s dad energy is at peak levels in this video.
Literally! I used to work in a kitchen and it was a nightmare oml
This was one of my favorite try guys videos of all time. The chaos was unmatched. Maybe I'm biased as a career server/resturant manager but there were moment upon moment of relatable footage. I'm honestly so proud of this whole team for being able to go through this process without giving up? 10/10
Okay Kwesi coming out in that suit, I had to clutch my pearls. I think a future episode should have the guys make a custom, tailored suit for him to model
he is a fine looking man
When I saw your comment I thought "it's just a suit", but then I saw him and yep, I get the reaction 100%
