I'm a graphic designer and I've been following for a long time and this vlog was very relatable. I feel like as a creative person who has always loved art and illustration, I chose graphic design as a career to be able to stay creative while also making a living. Fast forward to working at an ad agency as a graphic designer after finishing university and there are so many things I dislike about the job and it feels like I've lost all of my creativity/energy/passion. I really relate to the identity crisis of it all because now in order to satisfy my creativity, I have to do it outside of work, which defeats the whole purpose of why I chose this career.
All this to say, I'm right there with you and wonder if this yearning for "more" and always wanting to change it up is more common with creative people. Stay strong, we've got this and will find our way eventually! You've been a big inspiration to me and hope to one day freelance and do more of what actually inspires me🩷🙌🏻

Hi Alice, I sympathise because I've been ill for most of the last 5 months and in hospital for the last 7 weeks.I have not earned a penny since December, and it's the worst thing about being SE, regardless of other perks. You will be fine because you have a marketable talent - people want you to work for them, so stay strong. Good luck!

Yep Alice I am right here with you all all aspects you spoke about at the start. I am also going through creative identity crisis and also know something has to change, works wise. Currently working in a care home just to bring in some money and income, but want to get out of it. I have taken a course online for seamless pattern design and ur pattern workbook. As an area I would like to explore.
Also for the strawberry and watermelon patterns did u design these in procreate you patterns look incred gal very intricate. Great work
It’s so difficult isn’t it! Doing courses and learning helps thought for sure. That’s what I’ve been doing to keep my creativity going a little ☺️ we can do this!!

I'm a graphic designer and have worked in learning design for the last 5 years and love it, combines design and learning aspects. Lots of work from home stuff and part time but you could also teach yourself storyline and offer eleaenjng

I've taken a page from your book and started creating printable and digital planners as well as creating my own desk pad daily planner to sell. I'll start with this one item and if it does well I'll branch out to other planner design stickers and maybe put some quotes on clothing.

You should do online workshops and sell tickets to join. do a live event, that way people don't have to make their way to you and you can do it all from home.
how to set up a graphic design business is a good one. you could do introductions to graphic design and teach people how to get into the field and get set up. Take inspersation from the UX online space.
