And this is why, when I build or repair anything out of hollow tubing or pipe, that I leave weep holes on the bottom side. Or at least, what’s going to be the bottom side the majority of the time. Even if the structure is welded up water-tight (and few things actually are), in our climate, hollow tubing will fill up with water just from condensation. This is why you see so many tubes that are swollen up and split from freezing in the winter time. Pitiful how flimsy most of these trailers are built but, if they were built like they should be, not many people could afford them.
Weep holes are a good idea...I don't believe that condensate forms inside tubes that are seal welded, I've cut into tubes that were seal welded years post fabrication and they usually have a strong vacuum in them and no sign of moisture or corrosion....so I believe that there must be air available if there is water or corrosion present....there is no air in a welded tube vacuum sealed by heat Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I just refurbished a 5’x10” utility trailer. Went thru the whole thing, wire brushed the rust off, repainted it, added new decking boards, and then a 2000 lb. lifting crane, with outrigger jack, and put an electric winch on that. Did it all for about $550.00. Of course it was my own trailer. I hate to see rusted areas left, when the customer wants to get by as cheaply as he can. Your work was well done, CB. Thanks for sharing!
just letting you know after watching you use your Arc Captain Mig 200 welder in your other's video On UA-cam i finally bought myself the new Mig200 Arc Captain welder machine on Amazon Prime sales I really do like it it so easy as you mention it would be an good entry welder and good investment too I don't have the Tig and spool gun accessories yet ! but i will get it in the near future just want to say thanks for helping me make the best choice of getting this machine
Working on those trailers is like working on a house. You only want to fix one thing but as you tear into it, you find more and more and more and more things that need to be repaired. Eventually, you just have to say to yourself “is it worth it to keep going?” Lol great video as always.
Nice work CB, repair pieces will outlast the rest of the trailer. Can’t believe they only use 14 guage steel guess they’re disposable like everything else built today. Take care👍
I just did a job at my church where some square tube was rusted out and swollen so much it was almost round and splitting at the corners. When I cut into them, water poured out. I made sure to add weep holes in the new material
There is no clear answer to your question...the results you get from what you use can vary widely based on so many different factors...try some different rods with your machine and see what different results you get...you should practice at least enough to develop your own opinion on different electrodes before you begin welding on anything really important

CB I feel like I’m watching the West Virginia metal fabricator/welder version of “Mr. Rogers Neighborhood”. I love it!

Think I've had my fill of the music. Best of luck to ya. Time is finite for all.

So your leaving because of the music? 🚫🎵🚫😮🤔

Hey cb. Great video! You should do a video on your torches, tip and techniques.
I've done countless videos on torches, tips, and torch techniques...watch them all
