This pen is amazing! I like to write small and most pens will bleed through the paper of are just not fine enough. This pen feels great and the cap is secure on both ends.

My favorite pen! It's just beautiful to look at 😍
Just got my F in and using Noodlers Walnut ink it is a stellar performer. Liked it so much I ordered the XFine too. Note...A has a set of the 3 nibs just for this pen. About $12. Q: this vs the Pilot Metro? A: simple...BOTH...Duh! I have maybe a hundred pens around here and this is as smooth as any...even very expensive. Very impressed. PS: the barrel is black. Other parts are more “oil rubbed bronze”. Oh yeah...the Lamy Safari vs this? The Safari is a Wildebeast. This is a Black Panther. Heh, heh.
Haha! Thanks for sharing! I might have to get the nib set. Why not?!!
Amazing, thanks!

Music on the background us really awesome. It is similar to famous bengali song by Rabindranath Tagore.
Rukbah Sarbaz it’s Auld Lang syne
@@wayneriley7367 @Rukbah Sarbaz - Rabindranath Tagore wrote a version of Auld Lang Syne called Purano Shei Diner Katha (in addition to many original songs). Tagore often interacted with Scottish and Irish artists and writers, and was a prolific translator (both of his own work, and that of others).

Hello! I am going to be a college student soon and I would love to use this pen for note taking! Would you say this would be good for note taking and if so should I get the extra fine or normal fine point?
Normal
At this point you would be finished your first year, so I don't know if you found an answer ☺️ the
It's a fantastic pen for writing, but some people perhaps would find it a bit heavy for fast note-taking.
Having said that, I like heavier pens... I always post mine, but perhaps leaving the cap off would make the pen lighter, offering a faster writing experience.
I agree with all of your points. I too like to post and like heavier pens. It's one of my go-to pens for notes.
Can you use ink cartridges with this pen as well?
Yep
FYI to all prospective buyers!!! Sadly, I just bought the extra fine and it's nowhere near as fine as your example. It's basically just like the other pen you compare it too. Idk if they changed it since your review or what... probably will just keep it anyway, but damn I was excited to finally have a truly fine point fountain pen :(
I have been doing calligraphy since i was 10. I like these type of pens but not for the reason you might think. They can work well for an xy plotter however you half to be up on your programming for those as you almost half to create a custom set of instructions for each font style otherwise it will look machine printed. Calligraphy is a great hobby but i have never found any money in it. No real demand as computers can do it consistantly well enough cheaper for most people.
How do you fill the pen with ink?
Two ways. You can put the end of the converter into the ink and turn the plunger. Or, you can leave the converter in pen and dip the nib into ink while turning the plunger. Also, Hongdian makes disposable cartridges filled with black or brown ink.
Have you used a Lamy Safari? If so, how does this pen compare?
Ethan I have not, but since it’s probably one of the most common pens, I will get one and do a comparison review.
They both work well, but the grips are different. Lamy has a larger, triangular grip that your fingers fit on. Some people love, others do not.
Is the extra-fine nib of this pen comparable with à a Lamy Safary EF ink pen ?
i saw a comment saying they chose a fine and regret getting an extra fine, i got the extra fine and i feel like it doesnt bleed enough, or for mine it doesnt bleed at all. i have to stroke it multiple times to get ink down. i just ordered a fountain pen specific ink, i will try that and hopefully it will work better. crossing my fingers i didnt just waste $50 CAD
Please share the link you used.
I was using carbon black ink and it was a good ratio to bleeding/write speed.
My wife and I just got ours...Nice pens...Thank you for the Video. Nice job...Tim n Tina
Thanks, hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
@@VisionGuy I have a question. Can I use cartridges on this pen?
Poppy's Sad yes. When I purchased my pen, it came with two cartridges. I chose to use the converter and use my own ink.
I really want to like this pen.... I recently bought the Hong Dian Black Forest EF nib (carbon fiber) after seeing all the nice reviews about it with high hopes, but when I tried it, the ink flow was skippy and would not write as well as the review videos do. I used Diamine Black Onyx Fountain pen ink. I wouldn't think ink would be an issue since I'm using a ink specifically for fountain pens... I wondered if it was because I couldn't find the "sweet spot" for it and tried slightly different angles, wondered if I should let the ink flowed in it and tried again for few days, but no changes... What am I doing wrong? ; - ;
You are using good ink, but every pen is different, so maybe try a different ink. I've tried several different inks in mine and some worked better than others. Some flow more and some are more dry.. also paper has different properties. Hope this helps. Overall, I like the pen a lot. It's one of the best fine point fountain pens
You bought the extra fine edition
Hi! What pen was the yellow one?
It's a pen I order fr china many years ago and I haven't been able to find the brand. I'll let you know if I get more info.
Is Lamy converter suitable for this pen?
I'm not sure. I don't have a lamy converter
Nice
What ink are u using
Carbon Ink, It dries very fast - amzn.to/39AaNch
Is this pen suitable with parker or lamy ink?
Are you using cartridge for this pen? If yes then which brand are you using?
Both inks will work. I personally prefer the carbon black ink made in japan. But I also used noodler's bulletproof for a while.
Thank you very much.👍
You're welcome.
If you have any other questions or want me to make a specific video, please let me know.
can you use it for signature?
Yes, works really well
Should we be more careful in order to not break this extra fine nib, when writing a lot of stuff?
No, I do a lot of writing and it feels very secure.
I think you will be fine.
@@VisionGuy you mean you will be extra fine :)
What’s the gold pen called
I’m not sure. I bought it from China years ago. It’s actually a really good pen, but might not be available anymore.
Dose it come with ink?
Yes, mine came with three ink cartridges, but double check the listing as they sometimes change listings.
What kind of ink can you use with this pen?
Any fountain pen ink works.
I used the carbon black ink (amzn.to/3GLWHoG)
and also noodler's bulletproof (amzn.to/34wzgTf)
Both worked well with no issues
@@VisionGuy okay, thank you
Was there any bleed through on the paper?
None, with the fine nib, it doesn't leak as much ink. If you hold it in place for a while, then yes.
I'll make another video showing this soon.
@@VisionGuy thanks
Very nice review ! And I have a couple of questions if I may ask.
First, is the nib size number 6 ?
Second, can you pull out the feed and nib ? Is it friction fitted or twist ?
Third, the converter opening seems larger than the standard international size am I right ? And if so, is there a specific name for this type of converter ?
Thank you. I’m not sure what the size would be considered. I’d say it the smallest possible nib. I don’t think it could be any smaller. It currently looks like lead pencil @ .5mm lead.
I have not tried yo pull out the nib. The feed is twist.
Converter is definitely larger than standard, but again, I wouldn’t know the name for it.
Sorry I wasn’t much help, but I’m still fairly new to these pens
@@VisionGuy Don't worry and thanks for the reply. My research yesterday on the pen , and those are the specs:
Pen nib comes in extra fine 0.4mm, fine0.5mm, medium and larger.
The nib size is number 5 nib. there are mainly size numbers 4,5and 6.
International converter is usually a 2.6mm opening. This pen is a 3.4mm opening making it larger than other converters but still widely available on aliexpress for cheap ( lot of 5 for AU2$)
And last, this specific pen is a titanium nib which is actually nice material with a solid contact and less flex.
bassel .m you’re welcome and thank you for the specs
@@bassel.m2988 Thank you! Came to the comments looking for this answer, my converter decided it needed a crack right at the opening and none of the other converters I had laying around would fit.
@@kthebookwyrm1590 go on aliexpress, highly recommended to buy of it those tiny things. The pen is amazing by the way i still use it daily. If you need a link to the converter let me know😉
1 gram pen?
What was the other thin pen you compared it to?
The gold pen?
@@VisionGuy I believe he was referring to that one, I too am curious of the name of the pen.
I too am interested in knowing the gold pen you compared it to.
How can I get one in india!?
I’m not sure. Amazon doesn’t deliver?
If I go to my school and I pass my bag withe tat inside they going to think it’s a knife 😅
That's true.. we live in a different world now (sadly)
People brought slingshots to school before to play during recess and after school.. not these days
Any problems so far? If you have a metropolitan would you say this or the metropolitan
So far so good. It my favorite pen for writing. It’s super fine. I use carbon ink, so it tends to dry a bit faster than I’d like if I don’t write for a while, but I just cap it and issue solved. If you use noodlers, I think think you’ll have the drying issue. But you will have smudges.. can all be winners.
Sorry, forgot to get to the 2nd part. No, I don’t have a metropolitan yet, so I can’t compare.
if you press the numbers on your keyboard to skip around the video, it plays the same note.
How do you find this pen a year later?
It’s still available. Here’s a link to the fine nib, but they have several options.
Hope that helps

@@VisionGuy Thanks for replying! I meant, how do you like the pen :) Is it still standing up?
@@pietertalens1256 I thought that’s what you might be asking once I replied.
I still like it, the condition is still great(I do take care of my pens) and it’s still the sharpest pens I have.
It’s a bit scratchy, But expected with an extra fine nib that doesn’t get much lubrication(ink)
It’s my go-to pen for fine detail when drawing. Ink lasts for a while too, since the ink doesn’t bleed into the paper as much as other wider nibs
@@VisionGuy Thank you so much. I've been on the fence about this pen as apparently some people find it hard starts a lot.
@@pietertalens1256 I think it depends on the ink.
I notice that If it sits for a while, then yes, but if you draw or write a lot, I haven’t had any issues. But then again; who knows, there may be good and bad batches
i wish my parents
cared about me as much as this man cares about his pen!
lol!
same... haha
Is that nib flexible??
The extra fine nib isn’t, but they do have a flex nib option.
@@hawthornetherose2295 ohhh thank you!
Is it a chinese brand?
It is, I got one myself and it is very good. Superb build quality
I got a m nib

Sorry I plan to make another video soon. Lots of messages about the video.

Thank you for the reminder.
Couldn’t you just like...maybe...talk ?
Haha, yes, I thought about it.
