i feel like when i watch your vlogs i'm constantly making notes in my head of all the great parenting techniques you use for when i'm a mum
Me too! 😊
Right! Such a great family to take inspiration from. You’re going to be an incredible mom!! 💚💚
YESS OMG ME TOO!
Same
I saw that Colleen is using pictures on her gifts this year too. Such a great thing, I love it! 🎁♥️
yes, she also gave credit where credit was due. jessica, she said she copied the idea from you!
i think i will copy your great idea too!
How do you keep the littler kids from 'accidentally' opening presents, when they are all out like that? I am impressed at the self-control
We are preparing for the storm. It's supposed to be the coldest it's been in the Smoky mountains, East Tennessee in 30 years! Wind chills 25 below zero. But we moved here from Wisconsin so we are dialed in with everything needed for a storm. The chickens have been our main concern today. I'll bring our handicap chicken, Geraldine into the garage. Heated water bowls and fresh straw as well as wind breaking tarps should help. Presents are wrapped, house is clean and ready, time to cook. Very concerned about our kids though who are driving down tomorrow from Milwaukee. Merry Christmas!
When I first saw Jessica’s shirt I thought “oh what a cute sweater”😂😂 and then I realized it was Colleen’s mercy. Love the support❤
Random fact. You cannot see Big Ben. However you can hear Big Ben as Big Ben is the bell not the clock or the tower.
I live in Canada and Christmas has always been such a big event with everyone. When I was growing up we would open gifts and go to one set of grandparents for breakfast and then to the other grandparents for dinner. All cousins, aunts and uncles were at both places so it was always such a great day. We did the same when my son was growing up but now their are no small kids but we still all get together for Christmas day for the meal and of course games and presents. My family together is my absolute favourite part of Christmas 🎄
Hi Ballinger family!
I just wanted to tell you how much Vlogmas means to me right now. A week ago a had a major operation to reconstruct my flat feet. The doctors ended up breaking each foot in 3 places, adding a bone graft and readjusting and screwing my heel bones in a new position. It has been incredibly painful and very difficult to move around, so I spend much of my time in bed. However, getting to experience gymnastics and robotics competitions, birthday parties, going places and seeing new things along with your family has made recovery so much easier and has lifted my spirits in many ways! Thank you for making my Christmas feel like Christmas, and not so painful♥️
This is my husband’s and I first Christmas together being married! We have have spent 8 Christmas together In total but this year is even more special now!
My family celebrates Christmas and Hanukkah. For Hanukkah, we light the menorah every night, and do a combination of gifts and special fun things. My brother and I each got a book and a calendar as gifts, the first night we did an escape room and went out to dinner, and tonight we're going to see Dear Evan Hansen! For Christmas Eve, we will go to a family friend's house for her Christmas party, which we do every year. Our Christmas morning looks very similar to yours -- we like to take our time opening gifts and watch each other enjoy the gifts. We're having eggs benedict this year so we have something savory before all the sweets later in the day. Then in the afternoon, we'll head to another family friend's house for Christmas dinner! Almost all the gifts are prepped and under the tree already, we'll just need to do a bit of cooking on Christmas day.
We Celebrate the same as you, Eva! My Husband is Jewish ✡ & I was raised Christian. We observe all Jewish Holidays throughout the year and love the "tradition" it brings to our Home! (I know as much as any other Jew from cooking to the religion!) Hanukkah 🕎 & Christmas 🎄 for us has always been Chrismukkuh! Have a wonderful Holiday Season! ♡ (Oh, and don't forget the traditional New Year's Eve Chinese Food extravaganza! 😉 )
When Duncan was talking at the beginning of this video, I couldn’t help but think he sounds like Marcel the Shell!
luke got so excited about gymnastics! so adorable and he is doing so so well!!!
he’s literally the CUTEST thing ever 😭
Black Forest gateau is a cake. Gateau is a cake recipe. And Black Forest is cherry and chocolate and delicious. Can’t wait to hear about that one!
Not me just replaying Luke running to the trash can over and over again 🤣 Also I had the same idea as Jessica to pretend to be the object and not the letter haha!
Luke during Gymnastics was so fun to watch! He is just adorable!
I’ve really been struggling with my limitations and need for accommodations. It means I won’t be able to go to my grandma’s on Christmas Day. I really love what you said about gift giving! I love just holding a wrapped gift knowing someone thought of me and chose to spend their money and/or time on me. It’s really wonderful! So, Hewitt, my mom, and I take our time too. I am really excited because a friend is stopping by on Christmas Eve, and we are decorating sugar cookies! The weather is outrageous! Tomorrow the high is 54 and the low is 9! A super cold front is coming in right after a warm front. I love you all!
I always get my wrapping done early like 1st week of December. Which 1. Allows me to enjoy the season less stressed but 2. Gives me to opportunity to help my neighbors and strangers get their presents wrapped for them. I find wrapping so relaxing and I love the service aspect of it. It's nice to help people be less stressed during the holidays :)
This is my first year doing a lot more of the Christmas gift exchange with my boyfriend's family and I couldn't be more excited! Growing up, my family didn't celebrate Christmas a whole lot beyond a family lunch, so it's exciting to be a part of that gift giving and also do things in my own apartment as an adult (I have my first Christmas tree!!). Happy holidays to you all and hope you're staying warm!
I love the way you guys do gift giving!!!! I love the respect and kindness as well as inclusion of all the little kids with the pictures on the presents.
My husband needs quick easy foods for lunch and he would always make Turkey and cheese sandwiches but I told him how you make pb&j’s and freeze them and he gave it a try and loves it! He can prep them at the beginning of the week and it’s a grab and go lunch. Thanks for being brilliant and sharing your ideas!
My parents bought great joint gifts of puzzles for my sisters & I for Christmas. Dad took us to Saturday art classes, and Santa brought us some art material. Mom took us to craft classes where we learnt to weave rugs. Santa brought a rug kit that we set up in the sitting room. We would each take time to do some work on it, and the end result was beautiful. I looked forward to those gifts as much as to my own.
The last few days were almost as exciting as Christmas day. We helped with icing the Christmas cake mom had made in October. We helped with preparing everything from the turkey to the many vegetables. We always went to the midnight church service on Christmas Eve and had a light supper before bed. I've continued that with my daughter. I just love everything about Christmas.
We still all hang Christmas socks and Santa fills them every year.
Your family brings me so much joy year round! I love seeing your vlogmas, I watch your christmas specials whenever im feeling sad or alone throughout the year. Thank you for your wonderful family and sharing your life with us 😊
This year Christmas is out the window for me. I am moving out of my apartment here in the United States on the 26th, my last day of work is the 30th and I move to the Netherlands early January. So Christmas is on hold this year and I've requested people help me move as a gift 🤣
I hope your move went smoothly
Luke and Jacob are such a sweet pair. ❤
Merry Christmas Ballinger family. Thank you for making this a fun year. Your whole family is amazing, especially Luke as he inspires a lot of people who have disabilities including me.
Totally agree with you! I have hydrocephalus. Luke has inspired so many people and he will continue to bring smiles to our faces
@@hydrohayleyvlogs8380 I have hydrocephalus too.
@@vickytaylor9155 yay another hydro warrior! So cool 💙
Who loves this family
Merry Christmas everyone!!! Love having a big family. I love doing advent. Love you all so much. Hugs
I love 💕 the Christmas 🎄 eve and Christmas 🎄 day videos so much I like seeing what 😂 your family got each other for Christmas 🎄.
I’m dominican, my family celebrates noche buena which is on christmas eve. We have a dinner party and on christmas day we eat leftovers and hang out in our pjs. I didn’t grow up with santa or gifts on christmas, but we do that now that we live in the United States. I grew up with “Día de reyes” which is actually on January 6, the three wise men bring gifts to the kids!
It's remarkable how well Duncan behaved allowing his younger brothers to play with his Penguin toy. Excellent parenting!
I wouldn't be so certain Luke is on the nice list, the way he keeps throwing his mother's tea into the trash.
@💚Arika have you ever tried to get a small child to share a toy? And a new one at that!
The Ballinger family always make Vlogmas very entertaining. I love how your family use photos so everyone knows who’s presents who’s and the whole family can be involved with present giving on Christmas Day.
This year I’m the lead teacher in a toddler room which I absolutely love but we have done SO MANY Christmas parties and activities between them and my own 2 children and have been feeling a little burnt out so instead of pushing myself I did what needed to be done for my 2 kids and told my sister in laws that I will bring rolls and Mac and cheese to family dinner. They usually ask me to make a lot of desserts and other things but they have been so gracious and understanding that we just won’t have all that this year cause I truly need this break
Oh my gosh! Parker doing the Wednesday dance to Goo Goo Muck and even doing the old Wednesday Shuffle at the end had me rolling!
Merry Christmas to all. I live in Sydney, Australia, on the south coast. It's very hot here and we spend it playing cricket, sweating, swimming. Eating glazed ham, chicken, and pork. Exchange of gifts are always done in the morning over and during breakfast.
We have for years done appetizers on Xmas eve., funny you say about the veggies because I realized we needed some more veggies somewhere. I personally am not a huge fan of turkey, soo we are actually do seafood ravioli with 2 different pies for dessert Christmas Day.
I love your Christmas morning videos and appreciate that you unwrap gifts one by one. I do the same with my kids and the same was done by my parents. It does makes things so much more special! Love you all and your beautiful family! ❤️
I don't have much to do any year to get ready, this year its mostly just working my two jobs. I work at a hotel on Sundays so I have to work Christmas day. Monday through Friday I work from home. We're about to have an ice storm, so if it's not bad on Saturday I'll go check on my friends, who are out of town, cats. Sunday after work I'll go to another friends house for a very small dinner.
Teddy starting the advent song ❤ adorable!!!
My family celebrates Christmas! My husband and I have two girls (2 years and 8 months) and we’ve actually adapted some of YOUR family Christmas traditions! One of our favorites is gift giving Christmas morning and taking our time. Our two year old has been talking about giving her sister her present for awhile now. And she’s VERY excited to see her open it. I overheard her whispering to her sister “sissy.. I got a surprise for youuuuu!” 😆
A big part of my Christmas for the past 7 years or so has been YOU guys! Thanks for all the memories 🥰
That swag above the kitchen doorway is so pretty!
Jingle Bells is a Thanksgiving song but has become more associated with Christmas. 😉🐈🐈⬛
Loved Parker dancing Wednesday’s dance. Looks like we may be snowed in here in BC. It’s just my husband and me.
Thank you Christopher for what we learned!
Merry Christmas Ballinger Family! Happy Holidays all!
I love this year's intro! Luke did amazing!!!
Hi Merry Christmas from SLC, Utah. Love The Videos and The Ballinger Family and Colleen you guys are awesome and always make me smile! :)
I love doing advent calendars every year. You guys got me in to them. And on Christmas eve I open my last day of advent then later on in the day I get to open one gift on Christmas eve. I have done that since I was a kid. And this year we are making cookies on Christmas eve. And I go to bed early on Christmas eve. Then on Christmas open presents. We get up early in my house. every year we switch off with my aunt. And it's my moms turn to make the Christmas dinner. And we are bringing it over to my aunts for Christmas. Have a merry Christmas to all of you. Love your videos they make me smile no matter what mood I am in. And you guys make me smile to no matter what mood I am in.
Wonder how teddy has done with all those tempting presents to examine haha love you guys
I’ve watched Wednesday 3 time start to end, I’m happy the older kids like it too!💖
I was gifted a smart tv and so now you are all on of my favorite tv show🤠❤️

This year I'm getting my home for a huge family Christmas ❤❤ I love having family in Christmas 😁🎉
Love your vlogs, Really makes me smile to see what your family are up to.
I love using croissants instead of bread when making either French toast casserole or just French toast. If you haven't tried it you should delicious. Sending love 💛💜
I love your Vlogmas vlogs your whole family are amazing Merry Christmas everyone 🎄🎅
I have to thank you guys for one of our newest Christmas traditions. In 2020 we moved half way across the country away from our family and we effectively lost all of our life-long Christmas traditions. In one of your vlogs that year, maybe Bailey’s birthday, you mentioned Wentworth puzzles. I had never heard of them before. My husband and I decided that we’d start a new tradition and buy a 500 piece holiday puzzle from them every year and complete it on Christmas Eve - either by ourselves or with whoever is spending the holiday with us. We look forward to it every year now. So thank you for giving us an idea of a new tradition of our own! ❤
Christopher, the tower you pointed at on the jigsaw, is the Queen Elizabeth the second tower. It is the big bell in the tower that is called Big Ben.
Merry Christmas! I love your videos.
Merry Christmas from Ireland love you guys 🎄🎁🇮🇪
Lukes gymnastics session was the darn cutest and silly.
Pavlova with a berry coulis is a great substitute for fresh berries, just use frozen and blend them. Even here in Australia it can be hard to find fresh and lovely berries the day of. Have a wonderful celebration!
I love your videos. and your family is awesome 😎. And thanks for putting your videos on UA-cam so I can watch them cause I don't go on Instagram or whatever twich is.
For here in my city Canada New Brunswick we celebrated I had a six brothers at one time now I'm down to one so I celebrate Christmas with him and his girlfriend across the street from me our parents are all gone and we put a tree up we put decorations up and we do the traditional way happy holidays 2022 in a process New year happy Thursday evening love from Canada 🙏🙏🙏🎁🎁🎄❤️❤️❤️❤️🤶🇨🇦

You too Merry Christmas!!
I am in Nova Scotia! Cool 😊
I love watching your vlogs there so much fun I love watching the kids they’re so fun and exciting
I’m getting last minute wrapping done, in Wisconsin it’s zero degrees here 30 wind chill! So staying bundled up lol love your videos!
I love you guys so much!
Our kids are 3,6,9 and it’s definitely crunch time ! I work another overnight tonight and when I come home tomorrow I’m gonna prep Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner ! We spend Christmas with just our kids because we both lost our parents young.
We always stay up to late to and watch a Christmas story while wrapping 😊
I'm a 13 year old girl who celebrates Christmas with 4 siblings,my dad and my memaw and papa and every Christmas Eve we attend our evening church service and then come home and make cookies and usually I can never sleep because I'm so excited for the next morning but we try. And on actually Christmas morning we do the same thing as what you guys do, we try to take out time before our morning break feast/brunch with our family and focus on the gift giving and each of us 4 kids take turns being a present elf it's really fun and we really enjoy it!
I went on the London Eye in June and am afraid of heights, only once our capsule got to top did it bother to look over the skyline.
Party putter onners! LOL Sounds like a word I would make up. 🙃
Thank you I have no doubt I will watch again
We have 2 boys 8 & 9 years old , and they are both in travel hockey. So it’s been a very busy Holliday season, so yes it’s crunch time here lol
We have a tradition of cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning :)
Omg my family does the make-ahead French toast casserole too for Xmas morning!! There’s no corn syrup in it though. We make it with challah, which is just amazing.
I feel like the advent has gone by so quickly. Always so entertaining. I love the Ballinger vlogmas. Chris you’d be happy for me I bought another guitar. Fender Strat.
In the UK we pronounce it Black Forest Gat-O... I don't know if everyone does that but in Yorkshore we do. It's a cake I usually get frozen, defrost it an it's a cream covered chocolate cake with a Black Forest Jam/compot (Dark berries that grow in the forest such as black berries and cherries). It is delicious and I highly recommend 😋
Exactly! Chocolate and cherry cake with loads of cream! Very 1980s!
Christmas Eve is jammies and book night even though its just hubby and me. For the first time in 29 years - I bought them. We're doing Christmas small this year as next year we will be on a Cruise in the Bahamas. So we only have stocking and are gonna have a movie marathon and chat to our overseas family.
Parker makes everything he does in Gymnastics look easy. I understand that it's not. Lots and lots of practice and dedication. It clearly has paid off!
🎄☃️❤️ Merry Christmas everyone
When I made puzzles with my niece, she would hide a piece so she could be the last.
Hello Ballinger family, I know you have a lot of Grogu fans in your clan and I agree - I just ordered my Grogu band for Disney World and I even have a Grogu tattoo on my calf.
Jessica, I would love to see videos of you making the pavlova and French toast bake. Maybe not for Christmas but in the future.: )
When my parents were still around, we would just order out for Christmas Eve dinner. On Christmas day, my dad would make ham, dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans, and jellied cranberry sauce. Wed get up at 6am on Christmas and mom, dad, and I would open gifts. Then my mom would take a nap, I'd mess around with what I got and dad would go visit his brother after starting the ham (at like 7am lol). Around 2pm we would have dinner. The rest of the day was spent just sitting and watching Christmas movies and with our things. This year I'm just going with the flow. My work is having a party on Christmas eve, and I might spend some of Christmas with my coworkers/boss.
You have my nearly 3 year old singing advent🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Myself and 99 other choir members sang in Manchester Cathedral (England) in Rock choir for the last time this year, it was absolutely fantastic. Myself and my mum will be travelling to my youngest brother and sister-in-laws on Christmas Day for Christmas dinner then Boxing Day will be spent back at home with both of my brothers and their families for a buffet and party games.
Unfortunately, I’m in the middle of moving. Never ever move during Christmas. I’m in love with the holiday season and it hurts my heart to not have all my decorations out
Hey Chris, your coffee is pronounced gat-o, black first gateau is a chocolate and cherry cake with fresh cream. Delicious. Enjoy! X
I’m so extra excited this year for Christmas! I am 28 and from the uk, in our house we do stockings in our bed. Kids cuddle in and do their stockings, then downstairs for a bowl of cereal, that normally doesn’t get eaten as they can see all the presents under the tree Hahahah 😂 for lunch we have a roast dinner! Most people do turkey but we have chicken in our house cause no one likes turkey! So chicken, veggies, Yorkshire puddings, carrot and sweed mash, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sprouts and parsnips. Also I think you have a couple things with those names in America but they’re completely different, like our pigs in blankets are tiny cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon. And my little boy who has autism has pizza for Christmas Day dinner as he doesn’t eat much and loves pizza. This year to make it a little more Christmassy my husband is going to make his pizza in the shape of a candy cane! We do crackers while we eat and play games. And then for the rest of the day we go to visit family and just be lazy lazy laZy! Eat alllllllll the sweets and play loads of games! The day goes by so quickly I’m already getting sad that it’s gonna be over hehehehehe. But I am so excited to see the kids faces on Christmas I honestly don’t think their is anything better! I hope you guys have a great Christmas! Thanks so much for posting vlogmas it’s been great to watch and cheered me up on some bad mental health days (I have autism, adhd, gad and bipolar) so bad mental health days are often, but you guys always cheer me up! Merry Christmas from my house to yours! ❤
december 21st is my birthday i watched your video yesterday, your videos make me so so happy! they also help me so much, i’m only 22 and i lost my dad at a young age and just seeing happy families makes me happy ❤️i hope you guys have an amazing christmas
My family celebrates Hanukkah and Christmas! We usually get smaller gifts for Hanukkah and the other, bigger things for Christmas. We also each get a new ornament every year and do advent. We are Jewish on our dad’s side so we celebrate Hanukkah and other Jewish holidays (as well as other types of holidays) to honor our ancestry!
I am glade you liked the Coffee from Guatemala that is where I was born.
*glad
My favourite Christmas cartoon is Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. Have your kids seen it yet? It's a Christmas tradition among my family and friends. I think your family will love the music and songs. It's both funny and touching. I highly recommend it.
My grandma taught me this method for keeping strawberries fresh a bit longer: 1 wash them with water. 2 add a dash of vinegar to water in a bowl and add the strawberries then strain them. 3 completely dry them. 4 store them air tight on top of a paper towel in a single layer
Hope that helps getting the day before if you need! Since strawberries are my favourite food I know the struggle of winter yuckies.
Jessica, I just wanted to say how beautiful you looked today! You are always beautiful and look good, but you just seem glowy lately, with Holiday Joy! 🎄⛄🐧 Merry Christmas!!! 🤶 🎅 ♡
Sorry Chris, I am going to have to watch the bit where you open your advent calendar again... as soon as Jessica put her tea bag down beside her and choose you, we all watched the tea bag 🤣
This is our second Christmas with my mum who did a lot of Christmas prep leading up. So my dad and I are pulling together our first full Christmas. It is not quite as grand but we are getting it together. Dad is getting cookies ready tonight and I put together a white elephant game together. We still need to do our stockings but we are all done with gift wrapping.
My mum and I converted to islam (where christmas is not a holiday you typically celebrate), but before we converted, we always celebrated christmas and I grew up celebrating christmas and I looooove it so much! It's such a cozy holiday about giving and love and light! We really enjoy it. (Also we loooove christmas movies!) When my brothers and I were younger (I'm also the only girl out of 5 siblings), we'd always get a DVD on christmas eve, that we would watch and on christmas day we'd get a present and we celebrate it witg my mum's side of yhe family! All my cousins and I are teenagers/grown ups (early twenties) now and I wish we still had some younger kids, because they get SO excited! That's what I love about your family, you are ALL excited! Also, I'm from Belgium and here we have "Sinter-Klaas" (saint-nicholas) and he comes to all the children on the 6th of december and if they were good, they get a present and if not, the "roet-piet" gives them black coal! Thought that would be interesting for you to know! So on christmas we just get presents from our family! the last ALSO! I grew up in Switzerland and there, the "christ-chindly" (so translated: christ-child aka jezus) brings gifts to the children on christmas day! And they also have saint-nicholas! Much love and happy happy holidays!
OMG Luke is too cute if he does gymnastics he must have a leotard with blueberries on them🫐🫐🫐
My family, ever since i was born we don't really celebrate christmas. hear me out. we dont christmas because of religion reason. BUT we do have a family gathering and we have a feast and give gifts or monetary gift to one another. but we dont really celebrate the meaning of christmas. and so, i love watching the ballinger's vlogmas because i dont really get to experience like the decorations, having a christmas tree, wearing christmas clothes. you know what i mean? i kept telling my husband i want to have christmas and maybe when we have kids then we'll have traditions like the ballingers does. BTW. i am taking notes of how to "parenting." jessica and christopher is an inspiration to me :) Happy Holidays Guys
