I stayed there about 10 years ago (they had refurbed) and we are going back in August. I prefer Port Orleans Riverside but for our dates, Coronado Springs worked best! We liked it when we stayed there years ago so it will be nice to try it again.
We can not wait to stay for 7 nights at Coronado Springs next year. We have "not fancied it", but after the reviews we are going for it. Stayed at Pop, Caribbean Beach twice, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Port Orleans French Quarter so expecting great things. 7 nights Coronado Springs and then 7 nights at Universals Endless Summer Resort.... cant wait. Great vlog and info about the resort. :)
Oh my goodness, Jen. Had I know Coronado has a hacienda-esque, upscale aesthetic, it could have easily been my go-to resort all of these years! It's facade and resort sign don't do it any favors! I too have always assumed it had a 90's vibe...I now know where I want to stay on my next Disney jaunt. Thanks Jen!
We’re booked in for September next year. I’m taking 3 teenagers and a 1 year old so we wanted somewhere not as Disney themed as the other hotels but needed things for the one year old to do. We also wanted to be as close to Animal kingdom as possible so this hotel is going to be perfect for us. All my kids are so excited. Last holiday for us all. Not sure how it will be flying from England with a 1 year old 😂
That sounds like a perfect place for you and a wonderful family holiday! And you’ll probably find the 1 year old is a better traveler than the teenagers.🤣😍😍😍😍
Jen! Love your channel. Your review of Coronado Springs helped me to convince my husband that we should do a quick Disney trip in July. Thanks for the great content!!!
You already know how I feel about Coronado!! Lol. And we loved it even before the renovations. It’s just so cool. Very unique theming and just overall very relaxing! ❤️ so glad you enjoyed it!
We have a 2 year old and 5 year old. We stayed at Coronado and loved it. We had a little bit of a walk to the bus but it was not too bad. We really enjoyed it.
Yes! We enjoyed both the main pool and the quiet pool in our area. We also are at the food court twice. We loved the space in the room and having places to put our suitcases underneath the beds. It was our first trip to Disney with the girls so they weren’t expecting “Disney” theming. We were very pleased.
I went to middle school and high school in Scottsdale! I haven’t lived there since I moved to Tucson to go to college. Now I’m a transplant to the Midwest, but I graduated from Desert Mountain HS in Scottsdale.
Jen Lefforge that’s so funny! Just another reason to love you, even if you guys are Sun Devils and we’re Wildcats 😆. One of my good friends went to Chaparral. We are class of ‘01 which feels like a week ago. My mom and brother both live in Peoria now, but we don’t get back that way nearly often enough. I love it, though. I’m a desert girl at heart. It’s such a beautiful part of the country.
Morning Jen! I love being away from all the action. Quieter and more private. Although my family always reminds me of how far away our room was at AKL that I requested. After a long day in the parks we felt like we were on another marathon hike to get to our room. We would flip a coin to see who had to go down to the Mara to fill up the refillable mugs. 😝
We are considering Coronado Springs for a short stay after our cruise in February. Hopefully there will be a annual passholder discount then too. It looks lovely and we will be visiting Hollywood Studios and Epcot so the location is perfect. This review was really helpful to see if it fits us.
I stayed here probably 15 years ago as part of a conference (in August no less). The take away from that trip was everything was really spread out but again, it was August. Things have really improved since then, enough that I may go back now that you have given it such a great review. As I said in some other comment, your room there was nicer than my BWI room during that same trip. So it is a top notch experience.
I stayed in the Rancheros section once, that was a bit of a walk to the lobby/restaurants area. In that section you almost always took the bus from there to go to the parks. It was also handy to jump on the bus to get a ride to the lobby area in a pinch, since back then the last stop was near the lobby before it went to the parks. That was the one trip where the refillable mug purchase was a waste, because I only went to the pepper market once a day my whole stay due to the inconvenience (usually on my way back from the parks). Being a resort that Disney markets to conferences I always felt they kicked it up a bit for a moderate resort, however after renovations all the resorts seem to be kicked up a bit. I would also list the Mercado/Pepper Market as one of my top resort fast service locations.
Dean, the new bridge will really help with that as you can cut across the water from that section. I think they knew that was an issue for a lot of people!! Thanks for watching😍
Thank you for a review of a moderate resort -- might add this resort for a possible stay. I tend to stay at the Deluxe resorts for the quiet pools, but this quiet pool and the new restaurants look great.
I am admittedly a Deluxe Resort girl myself but honestly this was almost there!! I hope you get the chance to stay there someday, Kimberly! Thank you for watching.
Awesome review!!! This resort seems right up our alley. Come to find out... I stayed here as a small child during the ACTUAL 90s howling coyote days, LOL. But we're really excited to check out the resort, especially the new tower!
I’m with you 100 percent Coronado Springs exceeded my expectations as well. I do feel that Az vibe with the theming and colors. I loved running around the lake in the mornings (before I got sick) was not a bad walk either just beautiful.
Coronado was the first resort my husband and I stayed at 😊 We have been in the Caistas and Ranchero but love being a little closer the main building. Can't wait for our October trip. We'll be staying in the Tower!!! So excited!!!!
You're the best! Great review. I was at Coronado for a week in October. Even with the construction, my husband and I loved it! It's nice to see how far it's come!
Hey Jen! What a timely video. Just priced out flights for our December trip and we can get better prices going a day sooner so I'm looking to add one night. Was deciding between CSR and CBR and think I'm going with CSR (based on your review and a few other factors). One note though - Toledo is the restaurant on top of the new tower, not in the middle of the lake. The restaurant in the lake is Three Bridges Bar & Grill.
Yes, a couple other people corrected that as well and I hate it when I get basic facts wrong! UGH! But so many new names I get confused! LOL. I think you'll love CSR!
I’ve stayed at Coronado Springs thee times over the years. I like the more “adult” vibe but found the food hit or miss. Curious how the new tower will impact the pools and transportation. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Toledo is the restaurant at the top of the tower. Villa del Lago is the over-water restaurant. Look forward to trying both soon!
Enjoyed your review. Stayed at Coronando Springs and also enjoyed it. The room was very nice. Now with the tower going in and The Rivera Resort next to it, may consider it again. The big negative for me is being so far away from MK, other resorts and Disney Springs for dining options.
Thank you for the great review! We've always wondered about this resort and will definitely consider it for our next trip to Disney. Our biggest concern is the transportation (or lack of options) given that it only had a bus system. So glad you enjoyed it and thank you again!
Ummmm I don't think I knew that Coronado had a spa! 🙈🤷♀️ I love that you just taught me something new! What beautiful property there. I haven't stayed there in a few years, but have stayed on three different times. The food court looks great now! I might need to give it another try!
I have this booked for Wine and Dine, and I think it's a great idea to book for Star Wars next year (PS How excited are you for the next Star Wars race??? Is it too soon to start planning? Will the course go through Galaxy's Edge?! I'm just a little excited.... not much at all, obviously.)
Surely it will, Jess?? It's year five and Sara (my BRF) and I will be PERFECT STAR WARS HALF so we better get something spectacular. Not like the spatula they gave the Wine and Dine people.😆
My agent, Jen, from Perfect Story Travel just recommended this resort WITH Club Level for our next vacation! The ONLY moderate resort with Club Level. I am so excited.
Can I get your opinion? We have stayed at every value Resort at Disney for years and this will be the first moderate resort we have stay at, and I’m wanting a better experience for the price, and wanting something that me and hubby will enjoy also along with the kids. I also will be traveling with our baby girl that will be 7mos when we go, so wanting it to be convenient. I priced them both and for a preferred rooms and at CBR is about $250 more then Coronado Springs. I know the Skyliner will be done and I would be excited to ride them but it seems like there a long walk away from the main entrance and our room at CBR. What I like at Coronado springs is the rooms are nicer and the main food court looks bigger and nicer but I’m not a fan of the business/conventions that will be going on there. Wondering if that will make it a lot more busy. The plus at CBR is that you can do Moblie ordering at the food court to save some time, but it don’t look like most food courts I’ve seen at Disney Resorts.
I have never stayed at CBR but I can tell you I ADORED Coronado Springs! There was a large dance competition going on and I hardly noticed a thing, honestly. And Coronado Springs feels more upscale to me? They also have some great new dining options and with the addition of the 3 bridges, getting from one side of the resort to another is a breeze (that would be important to me with a stroller!). I think you'll have a great trip either way, but even if the money were the same, I'd be choosing CSR because the rooms there are just fantastic (I did 2 videos on it in the last few months in case you missed them)
I’ve had this resort booked several times but always changed for one reason or another. It does look quite nice...especially the room and the pool. I also love the southwest theming! Great review, Jen 😍😍😍
We stayed once before refurb, & it was a hike! We're staying in the tower next trip - super excited! I agree with you that I like the new decor much better!
Stayed there in August last year and really enjoyed it. POFQ is still slightly ahead for first place for moderate resorts for me. Debating on where to stay for marathon weekend since I will be by myself. I am guessing the run Disney buses stop at the front of the resort only for the event? I have only done one Disney run and I stayed at Pop.
I honestly don’t know for sure but i am assuming the same think you are about the busses only being at the front? Again, though, the new bridges will really cut down on the walk.
Amen to a ceiling fan! I’m honestly now reconsidering ASMovies for Wine & Dine weekend. If I can score a good passholder price I might have to move up. I don’t remember which neighborhood I was in but I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the size of the resort at all....unlike SSR. I’ll never stay at SSR again.
Our favorite section of the Coronado is the Cabanas, so when they tore down part of that section for the tower - we weren't happy. We haven't been back since the construction started, but we're trying to have an open mind! Loved hearing your views and impressions! Happy Friday and Happy Weekend from your friends on Mouse Street! 🙂👧👦💖🐭🏰
They still technically have it but there is only one or two buildings so much smaller. I know because that's where they originally had me but I asked to be moved because of the construction. Thanks for watching!
Hi Jen, how are the mattresses in terms of comfort. Are they more on the soft side or very firm? I've read that in some resorts beds can be quite hard. I'm hoping they are more on the soft side. Thank you so much for doing this review.
Gina - I found them to be quite soft but not too soft. I slept really well so i can honestly say I didn’t notice the mattress - which is what one wants right??🤣😍
Hey Jen, two questions... Disney related, but not Coronado... Though, the wife and I stayed there pre-remodel, and loved it; so, it can only be that much better now! Questions: 1. Are you going to tour/review Riviera? 2. Where did you get the DVC Magic Band clip? Cheers!🍷
I can’t decide! This will be our first trip to WDW in 2021. We will be 2 rooms, 2 adult couples and 1 teenager. We are from So Cal and are AP at DLR/DCA. Thinking 2 weeks in WDW. Would you split the trip and stay at 2 different resorts? We want lux but at a good price..best bang for our buck..but willing to splurge a lil too. This hotel just looks so nice! Disney touches but not over the top...which I dint need now that my daughter is over the princess stage. So much to think about!
screambluemurder101 we are still trying to decide! Thinking 1 hotel but just can’t seem to decide. Gran Destino seems so nice but so far from everything.
Couldn't agree more! I avoided this resort for ages and dissuaded others from staying there calling it "conventiony". Due to price/availability, I found myself there in 2012 and fell in love with it. The ONLY Moderate with a Fitness Center! I've never cared for the food court area so hopefully it has gotten better, but Maya Grill was a decent option for dining. Loved your description of the bus service and how it feels much smaller on the inside than on the circumference--that's an excellent point.. Oh, and Woot Woot to Scottsdale! That's where I live these days.
@@JenLefforge the walk from the Ranchos to El Centro was not bad. At night time it is very romantic to walk with your wife. Im no longer on vacation and wish I was still there with my family.
Carmen, I've only stayed at POFQ, and all things being equal I would choose Coronado Springs. The quality of the rooms and the amazing spa like atmosphere is just lovely! However, I see rates going much higher at Coronado Springs so if I could get a great discount ,I would still choose POR in a heartbeat!
So if you had to pick between Coronado Springs or Port Orleans, which would you pick? I’m planning our 1st ever DW trip for my teenage son and I and am planning a split stay. Staying at Pop Century for the 1st half but can’t decide on the last half.
I made a reservation to stay at the Coronado but took the free "upgrade" to a villa. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE! Had to change rooms 3 times. We checked in late at night and got 1 room that was not cleaned, 1 room that had a broken toilet, and 1 room that was so far away from everything it didn't feel safe. It was a very hard start but ended up being a nice trip in the end. Maybe I'll give Coronado Springs a try next time. Instagram disneyonmymind365
We stayed at Coronado Springs about 12-13 years ago and actually loved our stay then. Excited about all of the renovations and expansion. Great review! And really enjoy all of your videos. ☺️ Instagram name: pinksky0911

Would you split the trip and stay at 2 different resorts? We want lux but at a good price..best bang for our buck..but willing to splurge a lil too. This hotel just looks so nice! Disney touches but not over the top...which I dint need now that my daughter is over the princess stage. So much to think about!
BCD 68 what did you opt for?
screambluemurder101 we are still trying to decide! Thinking 1 hotel but just can’t seem to decide. Gran Destino seems so nice but so far from everything.
wow it looks amazing, can't believe it's a moderate hotel
It definitely doesn’t feel like a moderate!🥰
Couldn't agree more! I avoided this resort for ages and dissuaded others from staying there calling it "conventiony". Due to price/availability, I found myself there in 2012 and fell in love with it. The ONLY Moderate with a Fitness Center! I've never cared for the food court area so hopefully it has gotten better, but Maya Grill was a decent option for dining. Loved your description of the bus service and how it feels much smaller on the inside than on the circumference--that's an excellent point.. Oh, and Woot Woot to Scottsdale! That's where I live these days.
I love it there😍😍😍 My family is still in Arizona so I’m back often. Need my desert fix🤣
Is there a well equipped gym on site?
Ceiling fans oye oye.
What happens if the necklace falls off ?
Im here right now :) #Ranchos
How was the walk to the main area with the new bridges??
@@JenLefforge the walk from the Ranchos to El Centro was not bad. At night time it is very romantic to walk with your wife. Im no longer on vacation and wish I was still there with my family.
Jen my go to moderate is Port Orleans Riverside how would you compare it to the Coronado . I have trip in October staying @ POR.
@@JenLefforge TY 😊
You can turn off the motion sensor on the bathroom fan?! Please tell me how!
No you can’t turn off the sensor you can only turn off the fan (which took a minute to figure out!)
So if you had to pick between Coronado Springs or Port Orleans, which would you pick? I’m planning our 1st ever DW trip for my teenage son and I and am planning a split stay. Staying at Pop Century for the 1st half but can’t decide on the last half.
+jennifer piper I absolutely adored Coronado Springs and of price is the same I would choose that in a heartbeat!
Jen Lefforge Thank you for replying so quickly! Trip is booked :)
Extra bonus, heck yeah! You know I watch your videos 😉

Yeah, I do, and I love that about you;). Thank you! Got It!
Wouldn’t you know it, the bridges JUST opened!!
Yeah, I could tell they were close - just finishing touches when I was there!
Thanks, Jen! Bonus entry for giveaway: @themattable
I had actually not considered Coronado before - I may rethink that! Bonus entry @monarchgrey ☺️
