Hello everyone! I have come here with the results of leveling one char from 10-60 and several from 10-40. I have feedback for those wanting to do this. The most efficient and easiest class to level AFK in the Legion spot is, Warlock.
- Locks were leveled with full Hierlooms and normal EXP. You want to level in Demonology spec and focus on talents that improve minion DPS+survivability, there isn't much to chose from so it shouldn't be hard to figure out.
- Leveling from 10-20 is super easy barely an inconvenience, set a timer for 30mins and just log back in. You won't die, your Felguard won't die.
- At lev20, return to SW and turn WM ON.
- At around 24-26 the leveling process hits a brick wall. One alt suffered it first death at 24, another 26.
- From level 24-39 the leveling process is dogshi.tfkinass. Your felguard will die constantly and many times per level. There is nothing you can do about it.
The best solution for this phase is to find a weakaura that alerts you when your Felguard is dead. I use 'Hunter - Pet Dead Alert', 'No pet', 'Pet Reminder'.
Why 3 weakauras? Because i dont fkin know which one works XD
You want the weakaura to have an audio alert. In the WA go into 'Actions' and enable both 'Play Sound' and set the audio channel to Dialog. Dialog because it is the most quiet channel with zero sounds from literally anything. I used the sound 'Wolf Howl'.
- Did I mention that 24-39 sucksfatDK?
- From 40-60 it is smoooooth sailing! This is the easy stretch. Keep your WA on and enjoy the process because, instead of reviving every 2min-5mins it goes from +10-15mins.
Additional notes: At lev45 (or50) you will need to visit Chromie and choose Legion as your Expansion. Otherwise the mobs only scale to 45, but you can still grind them till you are lev50 before they grey out. With Chromie time on you can continue afk leveling to 60 before you are forced out. You may be able to continue leveling to lev70 with party-sync and a lev10 alt, but this is something I haven't tried. I play on my main account solo/raiding and the 2nda count for afk leveling.

PS - How long does it take from 10-60? You need to be dedicated with this method. There is a direct relation between effort and reward. The process from 10-24 is easy, you just need to setup a remote desktop app and relog your character every 30mins if your at work or not home. Then you need to be on active standby from 24-39, then you can chill out, have showers, do big poos etc.
I tried leveling hunters but from +50 but thy require more babysitting than a Warlock. Its possible though.

hunter pets in wod were gr8 for that, cause pets in tank spec had stomp aoe ability. now leaving pet alone will result only in single target dmg (some exceptions like exotic chimaera doing aoe breath). it matters not because of dmg but reduced risk of hunter being attacked instead of pet

Looking forward to trying out these spots. Just spend an hour and a half doing the afk spot in Valshara (startet lvl 20,5 and now lvl 22), seems to take around 60-65 minutes to gain a lvl. This is without warmode or any other xp buffs, so for anyone wanting to try it out, you now know what to expect. I also found that, at least at my current lvl, i have to occasionally funnel health into my felguard (though not too often) to make sure it survives for another 30 or so minutes.
Interesting. I'm surprised you need to funnel your felguard mine was pretty indestructible. Is it perhaps a gear issue?
@@archvaldor could be. i had a full heirloom set, though nothing else (meaning i was missing a ring, aswell as gloves, belt and bracers).

Just a note: Even in BoAs at level 13 I went AFK for a short while and came back and was almost dead because at my secret spot there were so many mobs spawning it was more damage than my Hunter Pet could mitigate for me. You do have to be aware of how many mobs spawn where you are attempting this.
Yeah there's a lot of trial and error with this.There's not really a "one size fits all" method.

I still get DCed after about 30 minutes using the macro, does anyone have an alternative?
Roughly how many hours do you feel it takes from 15 (which is around about where you get when leveling before the Stonewall quest) to 60??
About 2 levels per hour appears to be the max for me anyway-but there's a lot of variables. I'm confident I can improve on those numbers with practice.
at 3:14 the code where u dont log out normaly does this have any consequeces or anything bc blizzard wants the ppl to log of so the server dont cludder up so its clearly not intended, also can u remove it again after its applied?
So far as I know it has no unintended consequences-it goes away when you relog.
It feels like the Legion Warlock spot has been nerfed, or maybe its just an issue with the Felguard? With full 7/7 Hierlooms and chosing the best position, the pet seems to die after +15mins. Are there any tips? Maybe using a flask to stay alive? Maybe its an issue with spec? because after lev25 is feels that this requires kinda active play to Funnel Health to pet. EXP are still good.
Weird people are reporting that. My experience was that the felguard never had any issues.I'll need to check it out to see if I can recreate your issue.
cant find any quest in redridge... I'm a horde and been randomly doing quest (lvl 25). I walked all the way to redridge but there's no quest and the NPC are attacking me. SOrry im new and lost

my warlock's felguard dies in every 10 monster kills give or take character's item level is 127. none of them heirlooms except trinkets what can i do to solve this sir. thanks for video
Just make a level 10 lock-they are stupidly strong. Make another when they get too weak as you level up.

what about the fighting pit at the start of warlords? when you have to kill 100 balde fists, can you just abandon the quest and keep killing?
They don't award xp like most similar things.
Hey there i have a question, if i make a warlock on starter edition account how can i collect 10 gold before hitting 11 to lock my experience?
If you have looms you can solo ragefire or stockades which will make you over 10 gold. Be careful with the pulls but a felguard can handle it.

Could you make a video on what to do with all these leveled characters? its really cool to have that many characters but if you are not farming mounts with them what do you do?
legion order hall stuff is cool to do on all classes and all specs imo because it's all different lore for each one and there's a lot of awesome artifact appearances to unlock. you could farm stuff for tmog if you're into that, more chars are good for gold farming too (like simply doing the soup event once a week with each alt, takes like 2 minutes per char) and if you are into pvp or just going for a certain honor level reward, your honor levels are account wide so getting the first win bonus with multiple characters is a good boost. but all in all i think the point is to level characters you actually want to play after all, not just for the sake of having them for no reason. some people simply level a new character instead of paying for a race change
To put it simply: wow time-gates a lot of things which are valuable to once a day or once a week. With an alt army you can do those things 50 times a day or week. That can be stupidly profitable.
There is a far esier way but you'll need to have a Razer Naga mouse, the software for the mouse allows you set a macro where it repeatedly use the "1" key and they key could be a range attack and presto it voids afk as well.
You'd just need an autoclicker you don't need specialist hardware. But either way its more of a risk.
Not an afk method at all, but a somewhat low effort way of lvling from 60-70 is to join a custom group for rare farming on the forbidden isles. You do get quite a decent chunk of xp not just from rares that are beeing killed, but also by the regular mobs
Interesting idea. You can turn the elemental stuff in for armour you can vendor for gold so it might be a decent raw gold farm also. I'll check that out. If I can find anything interest I'll be sure to credit you.
I remember watching a 50k- 70k someone that kept dying with each rare encounter lmao
its even more interesting to disenchant the gear. I was getting a decent amount of resonant crystals even without any points in the disenchanting skilltree
Edit: my bad, i was for some reason thinking about the 385 ilv tokens. Dont know if its worth it or not to disenchant the rare stuff you can buy for elemental powder.
@@AchEdeJungeNeDu Killing Rares for Dust and trade them in for gear to sell can be quite profitible. If you are killing them anyway, it is a great addition to other farms :)

It's not super fast, but you get:
- account bound gear to disenchant
- dust for gear
- keys for the vault, since they are account bound
- eventually items to empower the same items you get there when eventually you hit max level
- you are eleigible also for profession loot, i got unstable elementium for my level 61 jewelcrafter
However
- any quest reward
- the xp is nice, but not extreme
- no reputation reward from questing otherwise
- you cannot activate certain items and thus have issues to kill specific rares, like the one who needs poison ( to which you can at least tag) and the guard inside the fortress ( which you cannot reach since using the teleporter requires level 70), as well as any profession mob

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is just that one, I sweeped the whole area.
I think Blizzard fixed the anti afk macro with 10.1. If you run it your logout button won't appear, but you will be still logged out.

One issue with the two account method and locking XP at lv 10, is that the non XP locked character gets a debuff that reduces XP gains even further. It's still passive AFK XP but it's super reduced. We're talking +2 XP per kill on another lv10.
it's supposed to be with a Starter Edition account, so there isn't the "xp lock" debuff, the character is just automatically locked without needing to talk to an NPC or anything. this allows you to use level scaling without being doomed to crap xp
what you're supposed to do is queue them for an individual dungeon separately. I usually choose temple of the jade serpent since I can clear it in 1min 30sec on my lvl 10 twink. Or stockades since I can do that in 23 seconds. Basically you have your twink and your alt you wanna level both queue for the same dungeon separately then only take the queue if both of your dungeons pop queue at the same time. You wont get bonus xp for the first run but you will for all consecutive runs afterwards. I've used this method to level several of my alts 10-60 extremely fast

Are your exploits typically for just retail or do you also do leveling exploits for classic?
I have developed classic exploits but in practice there is very little post launch. Blizzard have had two passes at fixing everything, and the game is simpler, so not that much remains.
Have the NPCs been nerfed at all? I noticed Johnny Awesome wasn’t spawning unless you go back to his initial area

Just kill rares. Google something like "elwynn forest" you'll get a map with coloured dots indicating the location of the rares. Fly around kill em all and then do the same for other zones. That's how I level most of my toons.
Do you have an update to the issues listed below such as; a new macro to avoid logout, why ppl start dying at lev20s? I have a new account with no max levels, i had to manually level to 10 and then was able to get Chromie time for legion. I personally just want an Army for Nalak farming in Isle of Thunder.
Bliz recently seemed to have nerfed the macro. I'm working on it but I do not have a replacement. An autoclicker is probably fine thiugh it does technically violate the t&c's. Or you can just click on the window every 30 mins if you are you doing something else online. Not sure what you mean by dying at level 20's?
@@archvaldor I personally dont mind checking the account every 30mins-1hr thats fine, but I still find that from lev24 onwards the Felguard minion starts dying. I officially died at lev24, there were a few times in previous levels that I had to funnel HP to minion but it wasn't often. It could be because the HP regen between those instant mob pulls its enough, it doesnt give way for HP recovery to sustain these pulls. I've even tried only killing 1 of the 2 demons, if one is left up the other does not spawn.
I dunno man, the issue has been brought up a few times in this video and you haven't even given any suggestions except for a repeated reply ' huh, your dying? how are you dying?'. Can you go and test on a fresh character because your claim 'level from 1-max level' is completely false.

I have to get a lot of feedback before I can get an idea about something like that which isn't affecting me at all. From what i can tell gear seems to be the issue. My lock had bis conquest gear from shadowlands seems to have been disproportionately powerful.
@@archvaldor Hey, i've come back to say sorry. It appears that there is a deadly level bracket where you will need to actively funnel health every few mins. I decided to go back and attempt to play semi-active while playing my main account (I have 2 accounts). The good news is, that once I broke into lev27 on the lock I no longer died and the Felguard stopped dying so bad. It went from active afk to mostly afk. I also wanted to add that there is a Weakaura that will sound an audible queue that your minion has died, so you dont need to funnel health or check back unless it is required which is a huge quality of life improvement.
Is it normal for the Horde one featured here to only give around 1-4 xp per mob kill? I'm farming it at around lvl27 and that's what I'm getting haha

It would seem that Johhny Awesome doesnt respawn unless you are physically inside the house he spawns in? (which dismounts you). Silverpine NPCs still work no problem though.
The timing is very fiddly. I've lost count of the number of times I thought this was fixed when it wasn't.Keep persisting with the method in the video and it should work.

Around 3-4 times longer than active leveling. It varies a lot depending on gear, class etc.
i have to ask in your wisdom regarding the void elf lock how do you suppose you get 10 gold on a starter edition account? without leveling beyond level 10
Can't seem to come up with a better way than throwing down a blingtron from my engineer toons and hoping to get a nice vendor item. EDIT: just found out lock with looms is able to solo stockades (or probably ragefire chasm for horde). One run should get you over 10 gold. Should take you about 10 minutes.
and in case you are wondering how a starter edition account have hairlooms, if u make it on same blizz account, you share all mount/hairloom/collectible stuff.

I have few alts to lvl from 60 to 70 and i m bored lvl up in dragonflight quests .
Have 2 accounts cause sometime i like dual boxing .
Never thought create a new character on 2nd account create a group with lvl 60 first account synchronise both ,chromie time .
So now on i can lvl from 60 to lvl 70 in other expansion so more fun .
I will not lvl up afk but you gave me the choice blizzard didnt give us .
Even when lvling a new character i hate after 60 cause no more chromie time .
yeah i feel like after the first character you level in a new expansion we should just have the option to continue chromie time to max level... force the first one through the new content sure but everything after that should have the choice. would be much less burnout if you want to have many alts

You'll need to use some quest pet(s), probably plural.

How did you give your level 10 character from the starter account 10 gold to disable the XP? It costs 10 gold, yet you start with only 1 gold. Mailbox and trading is disabled. How does one aquire the remaining 9 gold? :o
There's a number of ways: I have a lot of engineers so I generally plonk down a blingtron or two and hope to get a vendor item. Another way that works if you have looms is just to solo stockades or ragefire with your felguard-it is strong enough to do that if you do it carefully. That will net you more than 10 gold.
@@archvaldor Cheers! Worked perfectly. Killed Mortimer and Hogger in the Stockades, which netted pretty much exactly 10 gold in total with the greys.

Did the Horde NPCs get stealth nerfed? They seem incredibly weak lately, especially when compared to their alliance counterparts.

Did I understand this correctly that people used the slime afk method to level to 70? How does that work considering each kill yields so few XP compared to the amount of XP required for each level?
The xp scaled with level. So at level 64 for example you were getting 350 xp per kill from the slime. It is the same with regular mob kills as shown in this current video.
I stood at the entrance to the inn in goldshire, so my slime pet would kill stuff outside while I was constantly getting the rested bonus

I got around 18k xp per hour at level 60ish with the bunnies

i only fear the return of the pet stealing kills again.
Trying the method in Redridge, adds assisting me have no despawned at all, I left the zone to turn on warmode and came back and they've been with me for about 2 hours. Although it's good this is 100% afk with macro to stop logout, this is super slow leveling, around 40mins to 1 hour per level. I will still be using this for a while whilst I'm doing house chores etc.
That's strange I was getting about double that (in the 40's). Not sure what the discrepancy is.
@@archvaldor its possible that its time and server, the more people in the area the faster mobs spawn I'm sure. They didn't seem to spawn overly quickly. I tried without chromie time and with it, made no difference. Might try some different chromie times, no idea if that phases differently though. I tried this on a dk so it was around level 22 by the time I got to this quest in the chain.

I wonder if there are spots like in everquest where a mob has a instant respwan... there are a few in EQ I use to level up and to do certain achievements or farm tradeskill items to get game time for free. EQ let's you play for free on how ever many accounts you want... make a few pet class accounts spread out and pull in 3 to 4 free months of game time a week. With their new autoloot system you really don't have to even look and the game is so huge a few zones you will never see another person so no one to report you. As passive farming exp or items is bannable in a few games. I've gotten banned on a few games for finding spots.

So far yeah. No reports of people being banned in the all the years I and others have been using it. There was a brief period some years back where people were being reported simply for farming too much but that passed.
Dude, what? Many years ago, there was supposed to be a gimmick if a "pet' class killed something without players actually damaging it, they were supposed to not get drops or xp out of it. That obviously slipped.
Yeah that was actually fixed a long time ago now. The old mechanic still exists in classic (vanilla and wotlk).

I wonder when they changed it so that mobs give XP if your minion is the only thing that kills it. I know it used to be for a long time that the player had to tap a mob to get xp/quest credit/loot from a mob. If a hunter pet was the only thing that had damaged it, the player would get neither loot nor xp. As long as they did at least 1 damage to a mob, though, they would. And it was explicitly to prevent stuff like this.

@@archvaldor Oh, _not_ allowing the player to get xp/loot if only the pet damaged the mob created an exploit? Hmmm. Interesting. I had no idea.
@@archvaldorThey changed it because of Demonology Warlocks, I believe.
Basically, since their toolkit is SO pet based, it’s very easy for their actual damage to come “only from their pets” which was causing issues when the warlock wouldn’t get credit.

I do sometimes. The problem is that any kind of "intro" causes people to stop watching. Even for 3 seconds. It is only like a few % but that really hurts you in youtube metrics.

I think they nerfed some of the AFK grinding. Made a burner account to afk grind my main using the warlock + goblin killing strat and my XP was heavily reduced due to the 'lock having its XP locked. Shame. I can't seem to find an expansion I like to level in and Im tired of redoing WoD and Cata leveling, along with Legion leveling. Even if I could just get alts on my main to 60 would be fine enough, but feels like Blizzard keeps nerfing all these methods.

Catacombs eventually thinned out so it was alright. Will have to find another good spot if it fills up before I get there though lol

@@Bathrezz1 My patreons tell me that they have used autoclickers and autohotkey and other similar programs extensively with no consequences. I was a bit surprised by that as I was banned shortly after using keyspam some years back, but they have a lot more data collectively than I do (mostly I play the game on the level apart from what you see in these videos). Of course Bliz might suddenly crack down suddenly, get better tech, so it is a good idea to be careful.

Aaah flashbacks to my time in WoW (yeah, im talking over 10 years ago), where this was called 'slvl' (as opposite of plvl - powerlvl), sleepleveling. We had a entire route (since back then there was no xp-lock or such) from vanilla to TBC where we just took 4-5 players and let them lvl up. Even when multiboxing became a real thing, i just had them bunched up at certain spawns and get exp while i was at work/sleeping. I miss the day of 4 man multiboxing, my shaman setup was so much fun to use :( (4 hunters was ok, but the lack of healling was annoying). Yes, it had some 'macros' involved outside WoW, but hey.. it worked :D
I remember years ago this wouldn't have worked, the character had to deal some damage to the mob to get xp or be able to loot it..

Tried the spot in Val'sharah with my lock. They must have patched this already. My demoj can only get a couple of kills before dying. Unless I use Health Funnel periodically the pet dies

So if you group with a player with xp turned off you will get about 1-3 xp per kill....... guessing this was a fix because of this video. It gives you a debuff

There's a big glitch I haven't covered yet to do with pets and a few other things. The problem is that they fixed a lot of stuff first time around and then again up to the first patch - it really isn't practical for me to do continuous videos on it. Other exploit channels don't seem to be doing much wotlk stuff either so the exploits just don't seem to be there in the way they are in retail.
@@archvaldor That makes sense. Retail really has been managed poorly when it comes to scaling especially since the level squish. Thanks for always replying!

You've seen the mobs and quest npc's before in other videos..but not how to do it afk, the videos you were thinking of were about active manual leveling.That's not the same thing.

Looks like Blizz has patched the AFK macro as it seems it's no longer working.
Maybe. It was "fixed" sometime in 2019 but became functional again.
@@archvaldor oh well only used it to get my Orc high enough to do the heirloom quest got from lvl 10 to lvl 59 while asleep or at work :) Also used Zen'Kiki, the Druid as well as the Lords and Baron in the Western Plaguelands.

I like the idea of a woodcutter cutting wood who when you click on them for dialogue says "Hello and welcome to Archvaldor's hacks...". Will never happen with Blizzard because they really hate my guts but I'm a bit friendlier with some private server devs, so maybe it will happen one day on one of those.

To be fair it was extremely pathetic. They filed a takedown request with youtube-I think they expected me to just accept it and go away. When I contested the claim they backed down.
