Best Places to Eat in Shanghai You Never Heard Of (Insider's Guide)

Food Guide and Recommendation in Shanghai, China.
There are more than 100,000 restaurants to choose from and can be overwhelming, hence I did this vlog to give you a good foundation as what to eat and where to eat in Shanghai! This won't be a typical tourist video as I will be recommending excellent places that only a true local would know.
From local Shanghai street food like Jianbing, Xiaolongbao to international cuisine (Italian to French). Some are a century old while others are only 1 year of operating.
So many to choose from but this can be a great start!

Hi, Johannes. Great video. I'm searching for videos showing Shanghai around because a student of mine has a work trip in a couple of months. So far I've seen great videos, but I didn't get people ordering in English or interacting with servers/cashiers/attendants. Is it very hard to order food if they only speak English?

Hey there! Usually if it's a western restaurant, it won't be a problem as they typically have an English menu and some staff speaks English. If it is a local local but popular to foreigners, they do have menu with pictures so you can just point what you want 🤭

although they are sort of interchangeable from place to place, isn't gutter oil still a concern for street bings?

To be honest, at least here in Shanghai, I think we're doing fine. If anything, there seems to be a lot less street food available.

Hello! This one in particular is corner of FengXian road and Taixing road. Would suggest to ask wherever you are staying for the closest one as they are usually everywhere and at par with each other ☺️
