@@Laurajd if you are in America and choose to do genetic testing (not everyone does, it’s expensive) you can know whether your embryos are male or female. You cannot ‘chose’ which to create, nor can you choose which transfers are successful. Plenty of people are only able to create one embryo or all of their embryos are the same gender, so there is really only the illusion of choice
