This behind the scenes schows how incredibly talented Michael Shanks is! I want to see that guy in Hollywood making the next big blockbuster!
The music was fantastic throughout the whole show
Holy shit, shanks is really talented. Great show! Lots of fun, I dug the BTS too!
That artwork in the background is real cool
The visual effects for this show was top notch! I loved the effects and they were executed wonderfully!
I love that Kryal Castle let them film there!
Could I steal some of that talent? You clearly have plenty to spare.
+Soladrin If you're asking, it ain't stealing.
What if he'll take it when noone expects him to?
4:18 huh... Well that's just crushing.
You guys are absolutely amazing. Good job on the best series I will ever watch
So awesome, love the behind the scenes videos!
You have to release a soundtrack. This is good music!
+Pie It's on our to-do list! Coming soon!
+Pie We've just added a 'Buy Music' button to the online store: lateniteshop.com
Any issues let me know! Enjoy!
Just got it! I love it and works perfectly. Thanks!
Great News! Thanks for all your support!!
+Pie Just nobody tell Philip Glass.
Wow. Well done. Really enjoying this show.
Very fabulous. Very wow.
I would love a tutorial of the baby bones shot you mentioned! Those are the current vfx i'm trying to learn at the moment! (I cannot find any good tutorials on green object removal then painting back in. ) Great Video!
You can read a little bit about how we used mocha Pro here:

you are completely crazy... congratulations for all this incredible work !!! Awesome !! but how long did it take ? You must have nightmare about roto
+Benjamin Combes We submitted the rough concept to Screen Australia on 10 December 2014. We then had a few months to come up with scripts and work out how exactly we would make everything work (i.e. how the hell do you make a man made of butter or a baby made of bones?). We started shooting on 16th March 2015 and shot for 17 days. Then from 13th April till late on Christmas Eve 2015 we were pretty much working 12-16 hour days 7 days a week on post. There were a couple of pickups shots, such as the unicorn, visual effects plates and the Regimand scenes. We were literally finishing off visual effects during the sound mix and even a couple before we pressed the final export button. The final masters for the SBS Broadcast were put on a courier on December 2014. Long story short... we basically had 261 days of sleepless post production, then a couple more days spitting out QuickTime's, DCPs, LTO's, etc.
+Chris Hocking crazy as I said :D thx for the details and congrats
Truly impressive work, and on a shoestring budget! Amazing.
Damn, I really wanted to help. Seems legit working with you Michael. XD
The portraits of movie characters on the wall. Where did you get those and can you photograph them all for me. Thanks. Also great show guys.

Hmm.. Wizards of Aus.. Wizard of Oz.. Wow. Took me a week to get it :D
Where could we find the music?? I love it!
@Soladrin there's no reason you can't just clone it, mass-produced talent for everyone.
It's amazing that these days a couple of people can pull off this level of Post Production & VFX. Also these kind of people are a serious counterpoint to claims that there is no such thing as talent. I know they've worked hard but to be so good in some many different things takes much more than just training. I have done some 3D modelling, music, writing etc. and none of them are easy to master. I know that if I dedicated myself to one area I could get pretty good with lots of time but there is no way I could get this level of competence in all of them simultaneously.
2:08 people sliding to the right :P
Does someone know where I can find the poster behind them in the video?

Where'd you get the instant Phillip Glass machine? Please tell me, my fingers hurt. thank you.
@Not my name, I actually mean there was a network error [400]
how on earth you edit using that apple mouse!??
well for the VFX scenes you used a logitech mouse nvm.
But apple mouse on an apple computer for music? I no like
Apple makes good computers but their peripherals (cables, mouse, adapters) are utter garbage (well they do make pretty nice keyboards at least)
A-MAZING stuff guys. Nerd techie questiones here. Sorry. What 3D package do you guys use? Lots of fire/destruction/smoke Houdini maybe? Arnold for render? How many 3D artists are in your team?
Apologies Fran - I was sure I already replied to this when you first posted, but my replies seems to have disappeared. Just in case you never saw it...
Every single visual effects shot was composited in After Effects. We used Element 3D a lot directly within After Effects. Michael Shanks did probably about 99% of the compositing all with After Effects, with myself jumping between AE & mocha Pro to do roto, tracking and cleanup.
We did have a few helpers for the real 3D work. Louie McNamara created the dragon and origami unicorn in Maya. Mat Hill created the 3D cans and the floor destruction sim in the Baby Bones episode. Toby Morgan created the road destruction simulation when Skulldrich first appears. Joshua Tatangelo created the 3D snakes. All of these 3D elements were rendered in multiple passes, then composited by Michael in After Effects.
Hope this helps!
When did i sub to this channel lol, i never seen it before
Myself, think it was with Something stupid, or How I play Skyrim, but Time Trap.. Is my goto, to explain.
+wobbly sauce
Yeah, with almost two million views I'm guessing that Time Trap is what got me subscribed. I noticed it today in the related videos, but I only have a vague memory of probably having watched it before.
+Gillsing
Time Trap is absolutely brilliant. Rewatch it ASAP if you don't remember it.
When can I buy the blu ray?
+John Grayson No plans for a BluRay at this stage - but we'll keep you posted if things change!
You're a bit of a talented fuck aint yah! Haha. ARRRGGG!
