It is so crazy when I see the young people like yourself going back and looking at the things we were so ready to move on from back in the day. I remember back when the 4 tracks started coming out. Was a great time for us. We no longer had to ping pong between decks.
@@teddybearasaurus Unfortunately I worked with way too much tape on the reel to reels and cassettes that when the disk drives came out in the late 80s I started the transition. By the early 90s I had completely moved on. I still remember all the hastles of tape and heads so it keeps me from getting nostalgic. If Tascam was to come out with a 488 with the technology we have now and Maxell or Tascam would start releasing some C15s or C30s at a decent price I may be tempted.
This was the first recording hardware I ever owned. I was recording my key player on his upright piano and there was some static I was able to isolate and it was Wayne himself nose breathing. Gotta love analog.
That was the first recorder for me I got for Christmas as a kid. I’d record drums from my Casio for like 2 minutes, then bass, keys, guitar. No clue what I was doing but it was always fun
I had a 424 back in the mid 90s, and now I have a 414. Love a good 4 track machine!! I’ve been using one with my digitakt and digitone, and it’s as fun now as it was when I was much younger :)
Haha no way, I just picked up a reel to reel tape recorder for a similar usecase. Problem is that you either go cheap on used stuff or buy new old (if you can) and hope everything inside is still working. Not really a problem if you know how to solder
Such a great loop and video! I'm looking for a 4 track recorder myslef. how much do you use the master track/nob ? I see a few without this function, I hope it doesn't take away from the experience

Yes, old gadget are having something specific.
Still apreciating old gadget though
Totally remember when I got my tascam 424 mk2. It consumed my teenage years. I wish i was smart enough to get it fixed when it broke 8 years later.

Everything old is new again. The circle SPINS. This is wonderful, Sir Taetro. Great to see you enjoying yourself in the creative process. Respect. 🙏🏽

that kind of experimentation is probably what started it all for most of us!
Men that guitar distortion is haunting. Reminds me of cottonwood firesquad

would love to hear the sounds you're making!
@@Taetro I’ll definitely make a video soon!!
Wow the texture that you get from this method is amazing, such delicate analogue detail
I love this video format.
The result of this is magic, works great going into the 404 😍
I used to own one Taetro! This brings me nostalgia!🙏🏽
Oh I am digging this track! Organic alternative vibes 🔥 so interesting to see this process. Thanks!
Glad you like it!
What an amazing video. You should definitely release a full track of this beat!!!
This was fantastic and super inspiring. The music shop near me always has a few multi-track tape recorders. Might have to add one to the workflow.
You should!
I ❤ tape sound!
beautiful and inspiring.
Always use 60 minute cassette tape because when slit the edges are cleaner and track 1 and 4 are cleaner. Look for old chrome tapes , nothing compares

I still use a little Fostex X-30 4 track cassette multitracker. It still sounds great. Great video. Paul. ❤
thanks paul!

Registratore buono,ottima marca
what is the speaker stands you're using?
Dope! What speaker is that?
does the synth go directly into the 4 track tape recorder with no intermediary device
Very nice work what goes around comes back around if it was good
is this similar to Fostex X-26? I accidently got one and trying to figure out how to actually use it xD
This is soooo cool man I wish my mom would get me one tho she won’t
That's awesome man! If you get hooked on the vintage stuff and haven't checked the Channel of HAINBACH already, give it a go. He does crazy stuff
I was actually watching hainbach's channel to figure out the tape loop process!
man what chair is that??
Using a computer👉👎
🤷
Hey man could you do a video of how you set up your tascam via routing cables and how to set up in ableton? That would be awesome stuff if you could
