      Luckily I've never had a problem with any of my power stations, but you'd hope that Anker are better as they're much bigger. That being said, customer service in general with all companies is at rock bottom in my opinion, especially Internet only companies

    I’m upgrading my hurricane kit so I’m shopping for a new emergency backup power supply and really appreciate you comparing these. As I shop in the states, the Anker C1000 has 6 power outlets. Also, I may have missed this but did you notice the light on the Anker? I can see it on yours so I don’t think that’s a difference.

    Excellent comparison review with actual live visual and sound comparisons. Sale prices on Amazon (12/24/2023) for both units are the same at $649.00 here in the U.S. I really don't need a power station with that large of a capacity, but with the prices so extremely low I am going to buy the C1000. The main reason I have chosen the C1000 is primarily the difference in size and weight plus of course, your outstanding video comparison. Thank you for a taking the time to produce the video.

    For your United States viewers: As of March 25, 2024, both are on sale for $650 but the Bluetti has 4 AC outputs and takes an expansion battery, matching the Anker on both counts. The Anker expansion battery is rated at 1064 Wh, while the Bluetti is 806 Wh. I Love the competition between all these companies which is leading to more power, more Wh and more features at lower prices.

    I just got the anker solix c1000, I wanted the bluetti and was going to buy it while it was on sale for $559 but waited until the following day and it went up to $669 lol. The solix I got it for $549, kind of happy with the purchase because of the smaller footprint, I do wish it would have wireless charger on top but oh well. On the bluetti my main concern was the single usb-c, I did want at least 2 usb-c. Also, my solix c1000 comes with 6 sockets.

    You should use a plug in watt meters to measure each station’s capacity, rather than timing two space heaters. Even if the heaters are the same make and model, variance in their parts and manufacturing tolerances could account for a significant portion of the difference in run times.

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  3 місяці тому +2

      Yes of course, strictly you're right - I normally use a watt meter in my dedicated reviews. In this case I thought it would be more interesting visually to test them side by side like that. Switching them around half way through also helps average out any variability. Thanks for your comment!

    4 x USB on A180 (also higher power) as well as wireless charging .... For me 2 x AC is enough (fan quieter on 180)... 180 able to power larger wattage items. Better display and app on bluetti .. Apparently you can join extra battery to unit ,, Like the light on the Anker and the reduced size and weight .. As you said both great power stations - Nice review btw

    My observations... I think the handles sticking out on the Anker are to provide the space needed if packed in for airflow, and the charging cords. I also think the handles sticking out would be great tie off points. One thing that struck me about the anker is I think they use top quality components, so the fan may be of a higher quality, time will tell. for me the kicker was the 600watts in and 12.5 amps in past 32v. I am purchasing this over the Bluetti because I happen to have a Lifep04 36V 30ah battery that I want to charge this thing with if needed. My prior unit was an original Jackety 500 that thing could not recharge fast enough to be usefull for my cpap or any other use. Charging on ac at 85watts, sollar at 65 watts and 12v at 46ish volts just sucked. Thanks for making the video. Wireless charging doesn't seem to work for me in California in summertime when the temperatures could be over 100F. In the run time test it was interesting that the Anker cut off at 1% and the Bluetti cut off at 0% this might fibe the edge to battery life vs total power. In the charge test how long dit the Ankler run before changing it to high speed charging? Was Surgepad enabled during the kettle test? I liked the display and app on the bluetti better, but chose the Anker because of the faster solar charging, and the out of warranty support I received from Anker as a company on another product. Time will tell;")

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi Roger - thanks for your great comments - I agree with alot of what you say, including the wireless charging which is too slow and temperamental in my view. I didn't have too much success with the SurgePad on the Anker - it was definitely enabled, but strangely didn't allow the kettle to operate. I tried it on all sockets. In terms of Anker charging, it rocketed up to full input power very quickly after starting - a few minutes. In general use, I will likely turn off this fast charge mode to preserve battery life. They are both great units in my opinion.

    The expansion battery for the Anker is what got me to buy it. Plus at the time, the power pack with a 200 W solar panel was $100 US cheaper than the Bluetti 180 with the 200 W solar panel. Both seem to be great machines. For my situation (boat camping) with all loads at or under 1000W either would work, but the Anker’s abilty to easily double the capacity to 2100 Whr was key.

    A few people have pointed out that the Bluetti can accept a DC input from an external battery like the B80. Whilst this is true, I don't see this as a proper expansion battery which is supported by the BMS and visible on the app etc. That being said, I should have mentioned it in the video as it is an option. However you could just as well charge your ac180 with a petrol generator!

    • @CherokezPittman

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's great to see that you've pointed out an alternative option for expanding the Bluetti AC180's battery capacity. While it may not be as integrated as the supported expansion battery with BMS, the option to use an external battery like the B80 can still be handy. As outdoor enthusiasts, we always appreciate having multiple options for powering our devices. By the way, have you looked into the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It seems to offer some impressive features like massive capacity, fast recharging, and versatile sockets. It might be worth considering for your outdoor adventures! 🏕️

      If done frequently & repeatedly, but having my AC180 for a month or more, I see the BMS actively reduce the charging to 680W-ish if the internals get warm to hot. Even on "Turbo" mode the BMS will monitor the battery states in real time, therefore greatly reducing risk of harm.

    Surely it is adjusting the current to the load as the 230V should be fixed ? The electric fires will have a slightly different resistance so you should let them cool and swap doing the same test. The Anker does have 4 AC outlets BUT the output max combined power across all AC outputs on both units is 1800 Watts. If you want 1800 Watts of AC output then you can only use one AC outlet on both the units.

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  2 місяці тому

      I think it's the current which trips the appliance, and the power to the appliance certainly does not go up. Therefore I think the voltage may go up and the current down, but overall the power is the same (or less). If the appliance is a kettle for example, then the power lifting mode does not allow it to boil as fast as a normal mains connection - you're limited to the max power of the station - e.g. 1.8kW. People who say the power goes up are incorrect - the kettle does not boil any quicker. I need to get a multimeter on it to see exactly what's happening though in terms of voltage vs current.

    5 minutes at over 700 watts is a long time.
    Bluetti design and experience and components and warranty way ahead of Anker Solix in my humble opinion.
    Cheers

      Do you work for Bluetti? Weird that you're spreading untrue statements.
      Anker has existed much longer than Bluetti, meaning Anker has the experience. Anker's warranty is much better. Bluetti is infamous for terrible customer support (don't take my word for it, look on /r/Bluetti).
